Let's be honest it's a half baked EV at best, for people that prefer form over function. Not as bad as Mazdas Compliance car MX30 which is 'possibly' hmm no.... it 'IS' the worst EV for sale in Australia atm, but both are cut from the same cloth.
Why do so many car journalists drive the same narrative on touchscreen Tech ……. If it’s Good enough for Rolls Royce NOT to have touchscreen it’s good enough for me ???? If you have Apple CarPlay WHATS THE PROBLEM ????
Just because you can hide a Rolls' touchscreen away doesn't mean it's not there. But yeah, I think touchscreens are a massive distraction. I drive old-ass (like 20+ years) cars and on the rare occasion I drive something modern I find it to be a huge hassle just to change the radio station.
Why when there is a mention of comparison car there is no mention about Tesla…is Tesla too embarrassing or shameful to mention, or is it because Tesla doesn’t pay any marketing$?
I was hoping the review would lean me towards a electric ⚡️ Lexus, but I guess not. The range 300 miles is seriously weak. I would need at least 500 range but that price though would keep me out of the dealerships. Overall, I like the design but come on…..you could’ve added more to separate it from the UX250h. I guess being lazy does save a few pennies. I’ll stick with my 2020 Lexus UX250h.
Nah mate, only the Japanese are behind because they want to enjoy selling their hybrid vehicles and this Lexus proves that they are reluctant to be in EV competition.
Driveaway for the base is $80k for an overpriced electric Corolla, I mean Lexus! Model Y when released this year will be cheaper than this and much more practical. Toyota behind the game in EV transition and technology. And remember all legacy automakers need to feed their dealership model. I am sure they will recommend regular servicing, but service what???
Another Toyota paid advertisement. No mention that its a petrol EV conversion with terrible wheelbase, no room in the backseat and an empty driveshaft tunnel at the back just in case you get too comfortable. This car is junk.
@@ArchimedeanEye If either of you are interested, I've made a review on the UX200 vs the XC40. As well as a Range Review on the UX300e driving from 100% to 0%.
I don't believe this... TOYOTA has FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY released a 100% EV!! O.o about time!! Congrats Toyota!!
Good car, Nice review, Well done, CarsGuide !
That green though… 🤤
Why wouldn’t you mention rear seat heating?
They needed to get rid of that touch pad. New lexus models have touch screens
Has this car got a heat pump
Ofcourse you know that you also have regen on your brake pedal on the ux.

I still think it's funny they literally named their car "LEXUS UX". Like they're admitting they suck.
Nice one. How long did that did that take you think up?
@@needleontherecord Dude as soon as I heard about this car and its name I had to laugh.
BYD Atto3 would be a much better choice with almost $25k less price
Looks nice. Except for that chunky instrument cluster😕

300miles? 225miles more likely
@@satay8167 Yeah, I’ll pass.
Seems like all the major car brands are 10 years behind Tesla in the EV game.
Wait till there is flood or hurricane and see if the 10 year gap matters at all~~

They actually do recommend servicing every year 😂 Something to do with if you want your car's warranty to go from 5 to 10 years....

Nothing special, a good car at a sort of reasonable price.

😎👍🏻 LEXUS
This does not look good at all, I would personally opt for Tesla or Volvo. Very lackluster again from Japan 😐
Just another firm riding car 👎
Prefer the XC40.
RIP long term ownership with a Chinese Volvo tho

Just as ugly as any other Lexus. I am sure Toyota put out their design briefs as primary school competitions.
I agree, this is not even on proper EV platform.
Didn’t like the design !!
