Hey Dezzy! I hope you read this comment. One of the important things to realize is the reason hip hop is so successful in South Korea now is largely due to a wave of Korean-Americans who immigrated back to South Korea and brought the hiphop culture with them. Most of the dudes in the video you saw were raised in the US (some VERY important people that were not in the video are Korean-american rappers Tiger JK and his wife Yoon Mirae who is half african-american). This is not to say that Koreans do not listen to American rap, because they do. It's just that the hip hop culture and influence didn't fully take root in the South Korea until artists started producing tracks in the native language, Korean. The guy at the beginning of the video on the keyboard is probably one of the BIGGEST producers of YG-- His name is Teddy and he was raised in Cali. He helps make hits for BIGBANG, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, IKON, WINNER, etc. Another thing to note is that at the time of this music video, YG was a good agency but hadn't fully reached it's status as one of the elite "Big 3 Agencies". YG entertainment's explosion in success is largely due to BIGBANG which came later because the little kid, G-Dragon, is only about 13 yrs here.
