I like some of the upgraded fixtures and doors in this one; it helps to lose the “mobile home” feel. I’ve seen several videos detailing the construction process of these homes, and like stick-built homes, the tubs are installed before the walls go up. What’s unusual, is the cabinets are built and placed BEFORE the walls are dropped onto the platform.
LOVE this master shower its exactly what I've been wanting! - Bathroom could have been a much better layout overall. Only way to do that tub would be to make that bathroom door wider. Making that outcove wide enough for a freezer would have been idea. (Sad to hear one wont fit).
I went to Clayton's website and this is the Desoto model. And I really like this one. I don't see much wasted space. That space in the utility room would be a great place for pantry shelving cause you can never get enough storage in a mobile home. Going to check out in my area of the US where the closest Clayton dealership it. I really like the "shorty" homes. Gives me more room on the lot. Thanks for showing this one. I'm impressed !!!
Yep, the manufacturers are stepping up their game. What I wouldn't have given for those windows! And the master closet is NOT in the bathroom! This is one of the nicest doublewides I have seen for the features, that are all upgraded beyond even 10 years ago! And NO!, there's no way I would place this out on a lot for rent, it would get torn up!
I live in a Clayton and I absolutely love it and my sister also lives in a Clayton that is beautiful too. Mine is a single and hers is a double. Both are really nice homes.
Hey guys on this one there is no linen closets. No storage in the master bathroom. I do like the utility room that the furnace and water heater are in there with the washer and dryer. The kitchen isn’t bad but I like drawers over doors on the cabinets. The bath tub in the master by the time you fill it it’s cold better have a big water heater.
Looks cheap, more like an RV. The front door is the nicest thing it's got going for it. The frig w/ the sink directly across from it is a pain everyday, because the island is shoved up too close to it. So, somebody has to move out of the way while using the sink, wet hands, lovely... as to provide decent access for somebody else to grab another beer, etc. Also, the electric receptical on the side of the island is a code violation. Eight foot ceilings is pushing it; definitely nowheres close to nine feet. Interesting to see it. Thanks for sharing.
It's not too hard to get the tub out. Cut off the surround and take it out. Then, take the tub out. It should fit out sideways, if not cut it in half. This is pretty common for stick built houses, and i guess mobiles, too. Obviously, you can't put a one piece back in, so a 2 piece it is. Or these days likely tile it.
11:4, this space here, did you notice, it has a plumbing hook up. Down near the floor on the left. 16:12, not having a tub overflow is against building code.
Ronnie and Donnie, those Rheem water heaters may give Clayton credit for being “green” since they are more energy efficient than straight electric heaters. In today’s political environment, those green credits go a long ways towards reducing regulatory inspections.
Im looking for a double wide.. Most places have put in place that you cannot place trailors on the land.. maybe modular homes would be different.. appears this is becoming a common theme😢
NOOOO!!! Not Tennessee!!! Not even close!!! Zip Code 27856 This postal code encompasses addresses in the city of Nashville, NC. Zip code 27856 mostly in Nash County, NC.
CLAYTON HAS A POLICY, THAT IF THEIR MOBILE HOME IS DESTROYED, THEY WILL GIVE YOU MONEY, BUT A REPLACEMENT MOBILE HOME. CHECK WITH YOUR INSURER/LENDER TO CORROBORATE. FINIS PAX
I love these guys. Looking at mobile homes is amusing, but hanging out with Donnie and Ronnie is tops. :)
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
If you ever do any merch one design should be “We are not affiliated”. I enjoy the home tours.
Ok I’ll keep that in mind

Quick comment: that zip code does come up as Nashville, NC, not too far outside of Raleigh. Small Town. Go figure.
Didn’t know it

That is correct, Nashville NC 27856. Zip codes vary across NC.
Didn’t realize
One word to get that tub out... sawzall

My neighbor had the vinyl siding and studs removed to take out and put in a new one.
DONNIE!!! ...what are you up too?😂 classic intro..... enjoy the content friends✌
Thanks and thanks for watching
NOT AFFILIATED 😂😂😂❤👍
Had that situation updating an older mobile home. Cut it in half...out it went. Lol then purchased easier to get in new pieces
Yep
I would use that space as a pantry. Or mop/vacuum space.
Cool
NC has 27 zips Goldsboro is 27530 :) Nice mobile home. Thanks for sharing
I thought all of North Carolina was 28
@@mybrotherdonnie I grew up in Goldsboro and Jacksonville :)

Ok
Another quick comment: that 24 inch opening is for my wine fridge! 😂
That would work
I wish my laundry room had a access panel. I had to have the Shut off valves replaced replaced. We had to cut a hole in the wall
That’s not good

Thanks, guys, for the video! Catch you on Friday.
Thanks
11:4, this space here, did you notice, it has a plumbing hook up.
Down near the floor on the left.
16:12, not having a tub overflow is against building code.
Evidently not for mobile home 99.9% of them do not have it.
Good afternoon you two! I’ve been looking out for a video! This one is nice!
Have a great day you guys! 😊
Thanks see you Friday

We did some research on them this weekend. It looks like it’s just a big gimmick.
There is a Nashville north Carolina and that zip is correct
Had no clue
Not bad. I don't like the vents in the bottom of the doors. Master bath kinda small and no windows in the bathrooms.
It's actually Nashville, NC! I was surprised too. 🤯
Never heard of it
@@mybrotherdonniesame! I hadn't either!
27856 is the zip code for Nashville, NC, so the sticker is correct. lol
That looks like a.coffee bar by the laundry
Didn’t think about that
To keep the door from making a bang noise when the furnace kicks on
That’s good to know
In kitchen, maybe it's a broom closet. Put trash can there. Put some shelves above.
OK I can go with that
Im looking for a double wide.. Most places have put in place that you cannot place trailors on the land.. maybe modular homes would be different.. appears this is becoming a common theme😢
I’ve got some land that does not have restrictions. Other than one of them needs a double wide with brick underpinning
Great video guys 😂
Thanks
Something I've always wondered about is are you guys the owners of Southern Choice, salesmens on commission or salary? ;-)
Not affiliated no way shape or form. Don’t know them from Adam.
I wish we were the owners whoever the owner is got his or her shit together
Lol!! 😂
27856 is north Carolina
Did not realize that
I THOUGHT NASHVILLE TENNESSEE STARTED 37
Evidently it’s correct there is a Nashville North Carolina
It does.
