I've been a devotee since seeing him on a obscure cable tv channel in the early '80's, never knowing of him previously, hearing his mesmerizing voice, at the tv show's ending noting the announcement that he was performing that very night, rushing to see an unforgettable live performance. I might've been the only non Indian in attendance, understood not a word, but was in tears at the beautiful words and voice of this messenger. I never set eyes on Medhi Hassan Saab thereafter, but he's been ever since my favorite vocalists. I've spent the following decades slowly learning some of the English meaning of the ghazals as technology has evolved. Thanks, again!
