Really late comment but can't you just make the song first and reverse afterwards in the mixer channel if it is out of phase?

Polarity essentially has to do with the alignment of a waveform. "Reversing polarity" means flipping the waveform of a given sound

Don’t just “Side-chain it,” that’s a horrible tip. Side-chaining is not a solution for something that is out of phase. If your kick is out of phase with an 808 or sub (or whatever you’re stacking it with), do this.

And if you still want to side-chain, still put it in phase. Just simply side-chaining creates phasing issues and can mess up your mix.
