I love Ektachrome christmas not necessarily for the Ektachrome as much as for the christmas vlog style. Most videos on your channel don't focus on much besides the film/camera that you are discussing that video, but Ektachrome Christmas slows down to have you explain the gifts for members of your family, or the gifts they gave you. I hope you make something to replace Ektachrome Christmas becasue I love the format!
I literally jumped in the air when i saw my favorite youtuber uploaded a new video. The intro was a cinematic masterpiece. As for the future of Ektarchrome Christmas: Just do what you want to. I'll always appreciate your humor and your work - no matter on which film.
Thanks for the channel. I really enjoy your dry humor and photographic skill, not to mention the gear tips and the fact that it is somebody else going into all these abandoned buildings, risking, life, limb and exotic infectious diseases instead of me, while I get to enjoy the type of photography, which I only aspire to have achieved, albeit vicariously. It is my dream, one day, to photograph a bunch of abandoned industrial sites, especially old defunct nuclear power plants. I just hope that I can only do it as well as you... and live to document it. I just worry about the grain, of all people you are probably the only one, who will truly understand that, and how it will come out.... judging from the old pictures from the Chernobyl Electro plant, it is not good. Maybe it is just because it was shot on an old and tired Zorky with the Industar 35mm lens with slow slow speeds... Hopefully, that is the only reason. Maybe you would consider shooting abandoned industrial sites yourself... so that I don't have to. Sorry, I just strayed from what I really wanted to say... You did a multipart special on other people gear collections, I wish I knew you then. I missed the opportunity to send you several gigs worth of pictures of my collection... and that is only a small part of what I own, just the stuff that I keep at home for projects and tinkering with. I am too lazy to go down to my storage, dig into the boxes and destroy the years of hard work of packing and organizing all of my gear to make it fit into a storage unit, which is supposed to contain all of the s-h-taff that you can cram into a one bedroom apartment. I think I would definitely score some points with my Rollei 35 s, Rolleiflex T, full collections of Minoltas, Niconos IV and V, Canon rangefinders, Nikon Fs, Hasselblads, Contax and Agfa folders, various obscure collection of East German cameras, like Pentakon 6, Exacta, Praktica, Praktina and many more. It is the result of about 30 or so years of obsessive hoarding, I mean collecting. Don't judge me to harshly, but you would be truly disgusted with my Holga collection. The only Holga missing from it is the 120 3D camera... and some stereo film slide holders. I almost got one recently, but somebody outbid me on eBay for $388.0 US. Can you imagine somebody, other than me, would actually do that - try to make 3D slides with 50 or 100 ISO reversal film on a Holga... and wanted it so bad as to spend that kind of money to get it. I could not sleep for 3 days and there was no "Mountain Dew Flamin Hot" to quell that fire. Speaking of "Flamin Hot", I know, it is a year later, and watching you chugging a bottle of that concoction on the small screen of my computer is surreal... given the fact that both "Flamin Hot" and the Aerochrome are both now discontinued. I think it is a conspiracy... I think it was cheaper for Kodak to pay off Mountain Dew (Pepsico) or maybe even grant them some "special" favors.. than bring back the film. I think they got really worried... You drinking that stuff every day, like you did, could have forced them to actually bring it back... or maybe Monica got in touch with Pepsico and blackmailed them somehow, just to make sure you don't ruin your health.... I don't know... but I do care... about the film. At any rate, thanks again for refueling my passion in photography and my hoarding obsession with camera gear. It is because of you, I found out about Agfa 1535 and summarily got outbid.. again... and again... and again. Those things are ridiculously expensive for what they are... aren't they. Anyway, it has been nice chatting with you. even though you did not say anything of value, actually you did not say anything, not yet. Good luck with the future endeavors, keep producing great content, make sure you have all the vaccinations. I am looking forward to many new videos and grainydays!!!
The good news is your personality and production quality are enough to make ektachrome christmas amazing. Even if it's the last one, it was great to watch it while it lasted. Also that redscaled photo of the ocean is breathtaking.
Man, really shocked how nicely that Panther 50 came out at box speed that first frame is lovely. Also, big fan of that 8x10 water shot! Hope you eventually get to that Ektachrome Underwater haha
If you have bad heartburn in the future. Take a teaspoon of baking soda and mix it in a small amount of warm water. Should taste like ocean water but you will see results in like ten minutes. I have really bad heart burn and if I use this trick, I let out a massive burp and its gone.
This video is all that I expect and love from you. Those redscale images of the ocean and restaurant are great!!! The one of the living room and tree make it look warm and inviting in an unusual way. The "outhouse with moss" image is very charming even though the contents are themselves not very unusual. Must be your eye for composition. A lot of the scenes gave me a warm cozy feeling, both your stills and the video. Goes with the holidays. Good job all around.
Honestly man, your production quality is through the roof right now. I always loved your videos, but the time and effort you've been putting in recently (esp with that 3hr banger) is insane. Don't burn out on it, though, self care comes first!
The red-scaled images definitely have a Bladerunner 2049-Las Vegas vibe. I've enjoyed the Ektachrome Xmas series since the first one, but I'm cool with a change, too. Already looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
This is the most depressing Christmas movie I have ever seen. Maybe you should you turn it into series. Every year you would have to get more depressed and from the pressure of trying to beat the last year would make even more depressed. It’s like perpetuum mobile.
I literally jumped in the air when i saw my favorite youtuber uploaded a new video. The intro was a cinematic masterpiece. Beautifully edited and shot! Couldn't wait to watch it. Then i watched your video, it was fine i guess....
This was my favorite Ektachrome Christmas by far - your sacrifice is much appreciated! Up next is round two of “6 Weeks Coast To Coast.” Yep, I’ll be watching the longest RUclips video I know AGAIN 😎🤘🏻🤘🏻
love it! so happy you're so honest about getting "not-so-good" shots lol, i only get a handful of good shots out of every roll so feels nice to kinda relate hehe
"...in the throes of editing a three hour video." And I appreciate all that reluctant, hard work. :P Also, I totally want to shoot film that expired before I was potty trained. Addendum: I probably would actually buy a print of this shot at 16:35, and I'm generally a -cheapass- frugal buyer.
Worst series on RUclips I love it
worsest
Wake up babe, new Ektachrome Christmas just dropped 👁️👅👁️
Bro ektachrome Christmas is always a comedic and cinematic masterpiece keep it up Jason
Bring that LS400 over to the Wheelemverb shop

Totally! It isn’t the film stock that’s used that I love it’s the holiday content/vlog.
The shot at 20:53 reminds me of my late grandmother's watercolor paintings, beautiful. Lovely video, Jason
The shot of your mum’s Xmas room at 16.24 looked so lovely cosy and homely - one to treasure I’m sure.
21:42 omfg I LOVE that red scale window photo

This series is getting better and better.
The redscaled landscape always reminds me of the ending of Skyfall.
Bra I was blown away by the redscale ocean shot
The good news is your personality and production quality are enough to make ektachrome christmas amazing. Even if it's the last one, it was great to watch it while it lasted. Also that redscaled photo of the ocean is breathtaking.
Thank you for your videos, your style, humor, and honesty are so unique and refreshing. You are a huge inspiration in my work. Keep being you!
Not even a photographer but I love your channel. The shots and the humour kill me 🤍
Man, really shocked how nicely that Panther 50 came out at box speed that first frame is lovely. Also, big fan of that 8x10 water shot! Hope you eventually get to that Ektachrome Underwater haha
legend
Stella Artois ! You've reached my heart. Patrick, Kingdom Of Belgium.
This was my favorite ektachrome christmas ever because it featured a lot of my two favorite things about you: Baxter and the Lexus LS400.
15:55 - Willem actually brought back to life his Volvo V70 so I'm waiting for LS400 restoration.
Ahh, gooey butter cake. An STL classic.
That redscale sea shot was very Blade runner 2049
I actully like the overexposed ocean shot. Maybe you could try a Velvia Christmas.
So I do!
Working version of Aerochrome? Okay, what did I miss?
...the deadpan delivery belies the fireworks of talent... somewhere in you a kind of neo luigi ghirri is trying to come out
Baxter, as always, is the star of the show
Ektachrome Christmas videos are the most iconic ones on RUclips.
We will all still be here for whatever filmstock Christmas you want to make, Jason.
Looking forward the countdown to an Ekatachrome Christamas next December
19:26 that's actually a beautiful diptych
Ektachrome Christmas was as dope as always, keep it up Jason! Would love to see more fresh ektachrome in between
Christmas came late this year, I have been waiting for this for so long
If you have bad heartburn in the future. Take a teaspoon of baking soda and mix it in a small amount of warm water. Should taste like ocean water but you will see results in like ten minutes. I have really bad heart burn and if I use this trick, I let out a massive burp and its gone.
I hope you feel better ❤
You were totally right, this episode suck! Better luck this year! Thanks for the series though, they have nice Christmas vibe
you are the best human on earth. If Baxter was human then this would change.
PS I liked and commented on my own post
the SKIT. the artistry of this. ektachrome christmas 5 will definitely be the pinnacle of film youtube.
Exactly what my hungover self needed.
This video is all that I expect and love from you.

"Flushed down the terlert"
ITS HERE

Really like the redscale results. I might try to emulate something similar with my peasant digital photography.
the shots at the beach are fantastic!!
that toilet reference is great!
Oh man waking up to a new episode, yes yes yes
We love you Jason. The Ektachrome that really matters is the Ektachrome in our hearts... or something.
That intro would go hard as the intro to a Midwest Emo song
Decides to capture a normal-ass gas Valero station. Foregoes photographing a bomb-ass sunset.
Ektachrome, be my favorite series fr
Aaaahhhh yea. It’s Christmas again!
I agree, that 8x10 at 16:34 is the best photo in the entire video, keep up the good work Jason! loved this video
I crush fruit flavored Tums into vanilla ice cream. It's much more effective and tasty too
Holy Flamin' Hot Mtn Dew that shot at 18:35 looks like something straight out of Blade Runner!
This is the most depressing Christmas movie I have ever seen.
Maybe you should you turn it into series. Every year you would have to get more depressed and from the pressure of trying to beat the last year would make even more depressed. It’s like perpetuum mobile.
this is my yearly tradition. waiting for jason's ektachrome christmas uploads. cheers
Thank you for your sacrifice! Keep up the battle, Kodak will eventually cede the Aerochrome.
Almost thought we weren't getting one this year. Made my day!!
I think the red scale stuff is really neat, would love to see more!
Finally, I didn't think there would be any Ektachrome Christmas this year when the long nice video 6 weeks coast to coast came at Christmas.
Aerochrome Christmas would be hype. Maybe a souped film Christmas?
and forgot to mention, your POV photography is the best on RUclips.
my favorite RUclips channel
Yessss a new Ektachrome Christmas video. Love the intro 😂😂
Looking forward to Mamiyamigos!
ocean shots r sick!
I literally jumped in the air when i saw my favorite youtuber uploaded a new video. The intro was a cinematic masterpiece. Beautifully edited and shot! Couldn't wait to watch it. Then i watched your video, it was fine i guess....
I tried flaming hot mountain dew after all this furore about it here. It gave me instant heartburn.
God I need to try out Ektachrome, thanks Jason, I shall spend all my money.
Graindays on a rainy day, thank you for the entertainment!
I love how no fuc*s were given when composing these shots lol I can tell you definitely wanted to get this over with haha but love your vids!
Stella, best lager beer in the world (and coincidentally brewed in the town where I grew up). And by the way, great video.
ITS HERE!!!
A Baxter Christmas! I like the blue shot of the surf.
Redscale sure looks a lot like a Flamin Hot Mtn Dew filter
This was my favorite Ektachrome Christmas by far - your sacrifice is much appreciated! Up next is round two of “6 Weeks Coast To Coast.” Yep, I’ll be watching the longest RUclips video I know AGAIN 😎🤘🏻🤘🏻

Glad that we got one this year! Love those red photos!
That Lexus looks SO. DAMN. FINE.
Pure poesy, I hope this series never end
Dude, Mamiyamigos is the best name for a podcast.
I don't mind what you shoot at Christmas Jason. If it's a Christmas vid you gift us, I'm all for it.
Excellent red scale shots, I have a couple cinestill redrum rolls in the fridge waiting for the right time
Never stop Ektachrome Christmas or I’ll have to up my Prozac.
Here's hoping that December 2023 the sequel is "An Aerochrome Christmas"
mamiyamigos is an elite podcast name
Okay Lighthouse Edition Jason! I see you in that intro!
thanks Jason..you're one of my favorite artists on youtube. You just brightened my day again. Hope you're doing good..💚
I liked when grainyman changed the hood struts on his Lexus
EKTACHROME CHRISTMAS 5 LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
I really like that window shot that's underexposed. Levitating balcony 👍
I’m here for the large abundance of Baxter footage in this video
love it! so happy you're so honest about getting "not-so-good" shots lol, i only get a handful of good shots out of every roll so feels nice to kinda relate hehe
Love all of this, but especially the 4x3 ratio
Bros just chilling by a paper shredder
"...in the throes of editing a three hour video."
And I appreciate all that reluctant, hard work. :P
Also, I totally want to shoot film that expired before I was potty trained.

That lexus is lookin fly
