A vocal technique course with Maddy Prior and Rose-Ellen Kemp at Stones Barn in Cumbria, November 2016 Filmed and produced by www.flashlightfilms.co.uk
A big thank you to Maddy, Rose-Ellen and Netty for a wonderful few days at Stones Barn. I really feel that I am getting somewhere with my singing now as well as once again having had a fabulous few days in a very special environment. I am looking forward to the next course immensely. I couldnt recommend the Stones Barn courses more highly - just fantastic.
My issue is stage fright. It literally took over 40 years to get up the bottle to sing in public. I was okay at a sing around, sitting (or even standing) in a dark corner where I'm kind of obscured. A few negative experiences at a new folk club when we moved to Shropshire, where the session leader ran away (jokingly I'm sure) covering his ears. What I lack in confidence, I make up for in volume. I've basically stopped all singing over the last 4 years, barring a couple of hours every 2 months with Clarion Choir. It's much easier to hide in a group of singers. Not singing is showing. I've lost a lot of vocal control and power. I would love to do this course. In talks with husband (the driver) about what he might do, while I'm on the course. I loves walking, so looks like this is very doable.
If it's half as good as it looks, book me and my loved one(s) in NOW.

Chère Maddy. Mon slogan que nous partageons apparemment : "Chanter c'est sûrement mieux que de ne pas le faire ..."
