Haha, right? I've been so busy being an engineer I haven't had time to do videos, but I'm hoping get that moving again soon. I've especially got ideas for the "PLC Programming Cookbook" series, as well as a new series called "Pro Tips." Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?

Hi Breen, I would like to know which camera is perfect for wrinkled label inspection in the FMCG industry which can easily connect PLC and SCADA systems. Please Help me. Thank You.

Hi Quang, That's tough to answer without seeing examples of the products, but here are some high level thoughts:
      1) If the wrinkles are on a shiny plastic covering on top of the label, polarized lighting/filtering usually helps. If that doesn't help, you may need to use lighting from different angles with an algorithm that takes several pictures and removes glare. Something like Keyence Lumitrax. See our video on this topic here: ruclips.net/video/itnOl7H37Wo/видео.html
      2) If the labels are something like a 1D barcode (or zebra code), 2D cameras usually do a better job a seeing past wrinkles and other defects. I've personally had good experience with Cognex in this regard. I believe any of the large brands would be a good choice.
      3) If you're trying to detect wrinkles for pass/fail determination (to reject badly wrinkled labels), that might be a little more tricky. You might be able to get away with a pattern matching tool (in any major brand of camera) and fail anything that isn't a good enough fit. Otherwise, you may need a ML/AI solution. Cognex seems to be the industry leader in this right now.
      I hope that helps. :)
