I strongly disagree. I much prefer the styling of the 10th gen. The look was just much more aggressive and badass. The 11th looks like every other car on the road.
I was leasing Honda Civic for 9 years and had long rides about 1000 miles with 2012, 2015, and 2018 models. I do not understand why people are complaining about the car. It had a beautiful ride. I rode with my bicycle 120 miles yesterday. It took me about 11 hours. I always appreciate having a car.
Really really hoping the hybrid version is a hatch, but only thing that upsets me is lack of rear air vents and adjustable lumbar support. Strange cost cutting measures (especially for $30k) considering Hyundai/Kia’s have that and cooled front seats in their competition.
I really like this car, but it irks me that you can't get the manual in the base model. Why is the manual being treated like some "premium" feature now?! It was originally the "standard" most simple and economic transmission option. It's the biggest, and dumbest ploy in the auto industry these days.
Simple, the Manual transmission isn’t standard because the manual is more expensive to produce. The CVT unit is cheaper for Honda to produce and relatively speaking until you get into Type R territory is just as fast 0-60 as the stick. All you have to do is look at 0-60 between auto and stick performance cars an realize that they are becoming faster across the board.
I think it’s because the people that want manual are usually enthusiasts that also want the extra power. I’m guessing there’s not much of a market for the base model with manual trans, otherwise they would sell it.
The infotainment is slow at each start up and I’ve noticed that calls disconnect from wireless apple car play shortly after start up. Once the infotainment warms up it is super fast
I'm trying to locate a Sport trim with the 6 speed manual in Boost Blue. Trading my Accord Sport for it which has a CVT, the only shortcoming on the car in my opinion. Save the manuals!!!!!
Great choice I might suggest you check out the road noise in the Civic 1st I kind of want to move away from Civic's into something nice like an accord.
@@erichaynes7502 Accord a great car, I've owned five of them. Problem is Honda dropped the manual in all Accord and Civic sedans, I'm still pissed at that. That's why I'm interested in the Civic hatch. Save the manuals!!!!!
I live in Austin TX area. Just purchased a boost blue and I know there’s another at a dealership locally. I purchased the cvt though. Haven’t seen a ton of manuals for sale
yo this is sick, it looks way more like a sedan than a hatch but in a really cool way. I have a 2016 touring and maybe after a couple years I'll get one of these used.
You have to turn it off every time you turn on the engine. The auto stop start is pretty easy to control with the brake pedals though. If you don’t fully engage the brake at each stop the engine will not turn off and fully engaging will stop the engine for you
I wish the lower Sport trim had wireless charging with wireless Android/Apple and without the price increase over the sedan. All of these have me leaning more towards the Hyundai Elantra SEL with the convivence package. Although I like the interior and exterior of the Civic Hatchback much more.
Looks nice. Performance is underwhelming. I guess my expectations might be too high for a non-si non-type r civic. It just seems a step backwards that it’s slower than previous gen. Can get a gti for not much more.
I like more the rear design of this hatch but the front? Too long and snouty… the interior is superb. It would sell being a Honda but its not something that would really make an impact. This is a baby Accord as you would say and if you compare it to a Mazdaspeed Hatch styling? I would choose the Mazda. Just a thought….no offense.
It has class leading cargo room. Of course it could have more if they made it look like an ugly wagon. But that would sacrifice fuel economy and looks.
@@1northsparrow246 No it’s not. Look at the silhouette of the car. The only way to make it have more space is to shape it like an SUV, and it wouldn’t be much more. It would be damn ugly if they did that. The sloping roofline is misleading because it is very spacious.
@@1northsparrow246 it’s functional. If you need something with even more space, check out wagons. No hatch on the US market compares to the civic in terms of space.

I much prefer the styling of the 11th gen. A lot of people are complaining that it’s too boring, but I felt the 10th gen was too toy-ish
Its because they are jealous and regretted buying the expiremental 10th gen. Should've waited for the redesign 11th gen hatch
So I used to be the same however I seen this hatch with the HPD spoiler on the back and now I want that over my 10th Gen hatch.

I love those long and solid doors handles of the new civic
This car in a six speed manual is going to be my next car.
nice reveiw ferari like speed 👇
It feels like.. very long and solid. 🤣🤣 3:44
Great review. I like how you test the adaptive cruise control. 👍 keep the great job

I have one in Sonic Gray. No lag at all on my infotainment system. Not sure why you are getting it there.
It wasn’t on long . Mine is fine after like 11 minutes too 🤫😂
This look is more widely acceptable compared to previous gen

It's really nice I wanna get it but 30k for a civic i don't think is worth it when u can get a camry xse for 32k

1.5 engine won't be available in Europe :( They will offer some heavy and expensive hybrids instead.
For the auto start stop, is that a function that stays off with one push or do you have to turn it off everytime you turn on the engine

It might be what you know but no one at Honda designed a car to look like a Kia Stinger
That lagginess on the infotainment looked bad. Is that how it normally operates?
People hate the CVT. Most probably don't know why. I am one of them. I did my homework and got this car anyway. After a year+. It's not a problem.

It has like 3 less horse power but has a better overall 0-60 time
“Long and solid” lol
Do not let Honda fool you, the 1.5L has major oil dilution issues. That is really bad for longevity. It causes excess engine wear
That was on the previous gen. There has been no issues thus far
