The non stop run between MAS and SBC, single diesel line to MYS, a loco change, Shatabdi liveried P1s, M4s, Sapthagiri locos, the beautiful ICF coaches and the unique LHB Shatabdi coaches (I remember seeing them with MAS CBE Shatabdi too). Now everything has changed: timings, schedule, loco link, coaches, route, everything...... I wish I was there at those days...........................................

However, reverse had happened in TN post doubling and electrification especially in Tiruchi chennai line and also Tiruchi Villupuram main line. Tiruchi Chennai 360 KM is being run for just 3.30 by Tejas and 4 hrs by Vaigai , pandian and Pallavan and even WAP 4 drawn pothigai , Guruvayoor etc are taking now lesser time. Cholan express after electrification in single line section takes just 3.30 hrs for 260KM between tiruchi and villupuram .Tirupati Villupuram trains including passenger trains are taking almost lesser running time almost less by 1.30 hrs in ghat type section and with lesser stop duration at Katpadi and villupuram. you sir, standing between rampage Alco and WDg4 at viaduct passing was superb. I actually well miss those EMD days of this train. Last I saw MYS MAS Shatabdi with EMD was, when I was on a trip from SBC 2 MAS on 23 Dec 2017, in which the train came with a WDG-4 "Piglet" from UBL, which had a terrific sound of a PW4056-powered B-747-400F taking off, from its EMD 16N-710G3B-EC prime mover, thanks a lot 2 GM-EMD for making such a beautiful engine with such a complex design. I really miss them
I suggest IR to run EMD MYS MAS Shatabdi Express Train during Special Occasions like 11th of May Every Year, 10 Days of Dussehra, 4 Days of Diwali, Christmas, New Year etc.

I travel a lot between Bangalore and Mysore, somehow I still prefer Shatabdi or Tippu over Vande Bharath. that doesn't mean Vande Bharath is not good but it's the charm and emotion of Shatabdi I feel

No electrification and doubling did increase the speed of trains, but due to increased congestion they increased the journey time and with increasing traffic it's really difficult to run trains on single line, and lots of diesel would be used, they have to install auto block signalling axle counter based with in cab signalling and fensing the tracks, change the way of operating trains etc...
Electrification will not let to increase speed as well as save time. But it saves the environment by using ECO- Friendly Electric locomotives instead of polluting diesel locomotives
TN express hauled by twin diesels were must faster ( 31 hrs NDLS-MAS) in early 80s than the present electric hauled train taking 34 hrs and many times getting late. The stoppage increase due to political pressure and reducing importance do contribute to speed reduction.

Thing is when Shatabdi was introduced the number of trains would have been less.... Now more trains are also introduced as the years progress.... Likewise technically there could be more reasons....
Nope... UK had trains running at 200kph using Diesel traction in the 70s.. Today, even after electrification and quadrupling the line, trains aren't allowed to go above 200kph.. So electrification doesn't increase the speed...
To some extent, true. Only acceleration part of Indian Electric locos are more compared to diesel. Line speed has to increase to have any significant improvement I have said the same thing " Electrification and doubling are not the only factors "

I have travelled so many times in this train twice with ICF coaches. It was always a wonderful train
single line was only a short section, dont remember exactly between which stations, but it wasnt single line all the way from JTJ to blore
Doubling was going during the inauguration of this train. Some patch sections were completed but could not get the exact sections
