In response to the prep time Kendrick took to write the songs, I don't know if he had anything written. But, if you listen to his music and his interviews, Kendrick is a writer, he's a reader. It's not purposeful, but that's just my personality. Most artistic people who create need to get out their feelings through their art, so I wouldn't be surprised if Kendrick was upset one day and wrote a song about drake or recorded something. Just to get it out of his system lol then combined those thoughts with the new stuff he wrote for the beef.

Drake being exposed as a groomer and weirdo is something i never expected. Theres literal proof of him being weird and associating with people that have weird relationships with kids. Its insane and his music is not the same
Exposed as a groomer is a reach, conversations between adults and children should never be that close it’s true, but he’s obviously not waiting for them to turn 18 to hit or date or whatever. I haven’t kept up with everything but if he had legitimate cases of grooming he would be under at least investigation
@ENT8801 I mean it's true tho but aren't kendrick fans the ones who think it's OK to cheat on your wife just because you admitted to doing so On a rap song ?
FD believes Kendrick had prerecorded tracks but chose to omit the fact that Drake possibly had prerecorded tracks as well (we heard the beginning of "Family Matters" at the end of "Push Ups"). If he's going to believe that Kendrick had songs, verses, or whatever prerecorded, then he'll have to assume the same for Drake. After making these assumptions, you get to the point where FD is criticizing Kendrick for being better prepared.
Rap battles shouldn't be prerecorded because then you won't comment on the disses thrown at you. Family Matters responsed to Kdot and Meet the Grahams didn't at all.
Chill on FD bruh. He's likely a bigger Kendrick stan than you. It's ok for him to make points that arent always in Kendrick's favor from time to time. That's called "being objective".
People saying FD is milking the beef: 1. Never watched the video, it's much deeper than the beef itself. 2. He's been working on it for months, it's not a clout chasing video, he's was a literal teacher, social worker, and I'm also pretty sure he has a degree (maybe book as well? don't quote me on that) in psychology. He's more than qualified, as a certified oldhead, to talk and dissect the beef. If you have the free time, watch the video in chunks and absorb the masterfully edited and written video.
I think people forgot that back and forth rap beefs used to go on for YEARS and diss tracks weren’t dropped in a matter of days of one already being released
It may be 3 hours long, but it's rated the best breakdown on the Battle on RUclips. I mean, Tore even had him on his show. Don't hate just shutup and appreciate.
you mentioned “why Marvin’s room when you can Marvin gay?”, but ironically that’s what I did when I went through a breakup. Was bumping straight Marvin Gaye cuz it’s real and it hits with authenticity.
@@ceelothatmane9421I think they were just confused by the phrasing of your comment. It was said in the video that Marvin Gay would be a much better option than Marvin's Room if you're trying to get in your feelings. You said that's ironic, which is not necessarily false, I guess. It's ironic in the sense he hit the nail on the head as to exactly what you chose to listen to in such a situation. I think the combination of "but" and "ironically" next to each other though implies that you are saying something different to what he said in the video, almost as if you were disagreeing with him. So the response to your comment probably resulted from them thinking you disagreed with the one thing and concluding you must disagree with the other thing (about sean saying "I'm not going to tell someone who's in their feelings and listening to Marvin's Room to turn that sbit off and play Marvin Gay"). Of course, it seems to me, you were just commenting on the humor of doing pretty much exactly what was described, but I think they interpreted incorrectly.
Point 7 was what I was explaining to my boy today, in full support of kendrick’s deserving win, while loving Drake, his music has been on the decline and he was essentially creatively exhausted coming off FATD which itself spawned a deluxe due to poor reception - regardless of how he frames it. Drake was not prepared and most definitely couldn’t prepare for this plan cos it became evident after Meet the Grahams dropped that Kendrick had a eliminatory strategy in approaching this beef , where no breathing room was given to Drake at all. 🤷🏾♂️
I always come back to 6:16 in la (song that connects so many dots) where he says “war ready if the world ready to see you bleed”. I mean Kendrick is bigger artist than Pusha, but Drake in 2018 had music world in chokehold so Story of Adidon wouldn’t affect him as much as some thought. Kendrick is very calculated and the timing and everything was literally perfect to not be planned out song by song
I think that something that goes under the radar is that Pusha T and Kendrick are probably friends, or at least mutually aligned against Drake. I don’t know the extent to which the “lost media Drake response” is actually real and not just cope, but there is ABSOLUTELY a strong chance that Pusha T had a surgical summer volume II in the clip locked and loaded. One of the most understated talents that Kendrick has has been his ability to collaborate because the dude has an absolutely cracked EQ. There’s no way those two didn’t talk within the 6 years that Story of Adidon came out. If the daughter is 11, then it probably was on volume II. Kendrick has a unique pen, we definitely know he wrote these tracks, but I’m making the assumption that Pusha T shared his notes with Kendrick, and then when paired with a mole that was probably more than enough information to have this be a side hobby throughout his hiatus because, and maybe he does, but are just assuming that he had Jack Antinoff, DJ Mustard, and the Alchemist on speed dial like that? Like that had to be planned and coordinated.
@@keyuantejohnson4373 I don't think there's really a reason to. I think that Pusha T is probably going to crack a joke or two on his album at Drake's expense though. Especially if Drake's numbers don't hit the same peaks post beef.
Push and Kendrick have always been on good terms. I don't think they necessarily need to share notes, because Donald Glover seems to know shit too. I think a lot of industry people are aware in some capacity of what Drake has been doing.
I think something to just mention is that when it comes to the industry, there were a few people (and they might still have issues) that P.Diddy just flat out hated, and I've definitely like kept tabs on that. Like we know he hates Kid Cudi. We know that he got into a fight with J.Cole, and we know it's because he had beef with Kendrick. We know Eminem has always hated Diddy, and JID is featured on Fuel which is the track that takes shots at Diddy, and also Jpeg is Jpeg. Those artists could certainly have their own problems, but at least we know that they weren't in the P.Diddy inner circle, and like that's really just good to know because I like my music reasonably ethically sourced.
Bro That Man Ruined Me Lmao. I Had That Show In My Mental Anime List For A Long Time To Watch When I Get The Chance To And He Just Said "Let Me Shorten That List For You"...

I thought the kodak black collab on that album made sense especially because kodak himself has a history of being abused which plays into the "hurt people hurt" narrarive of that entire album
I hold that Kendrick made 6:16 in LA to clear his conscious. Hearing the Kendrick is the villain theory makes me wonder if he himself knew he'd either be viewed positively or negatively with the next two songs.
We all know Drake rides the wave of this new artist to stay relevant and I get the hate but in a business perspective I get it. The question is tho him doing that is it worth the hate?
Every global artist does it. Mike, Bowie, Stevie, Miles, Janet, Jay, Ye, Rihanna, Beyonce, Usher ect. They’ve constantly evolved their sound to match the times. They link up with younger artists and producers to stay connected with current audiences. It’s legit the business model for longevity in music stardom.
@@NainheddoMEEK yeah but let’s not act like he’s the only one. Black or white everyone has benefited from other cultures to make money. Yes it can be nasty move but you and I both know ppl like to make money.
What ppl aren’t realizing is that the industry is a smaller circle than ppl think. I can promise you, Drake knew about “like that” and possibly the whole “we don’t trust you” album, before it came out. Kendrick heard push ups before it came out. What probably happened is Kendrick took a lot of stuff he was saying on a old diss track to Drake and rewrote and repurposed it into “Meet the grahms”
Yeah exactly, Kendrick literally counted them down in 616. Plus, producers and mixers have to receive the songs and ideas hours-months in advance to finish the product. So there was definitely leaks of Like that and Family Matters in circulation
47:55 specifically the first verse is very recent to me. “Mustard on the beat ho” to start - mustard didn’t start sending beats to Kendrick until like March 2024, Teezo Touchdown is a very recent figure in the music scene, and the Stockton reference is a bit of a motif for Kendrick, something that he would surely turn to as a shorthand, off the top of his head bar. If anything the last verse is the most compelling argument for being thought out farther ahead of time, being that it was such a history lesson.
but in relation to the last verse, the whole verse flips the “you rappin like you trying to free the slaves” bar off family matters. it’s entirely possible kenny had the idea beforehand but it’s pretty obvious he was responding directly to that. plus the “family matters but the truth of the matter” line at the end of the verse
Shawn Cee with another good take. Kendrick is independent on PG Lang, so he is big enough to choose who he wants to work with. Also FD saying people were already thinking both sides on this or that Kendrick could be a hypocrite. People were absolutely ignoring those details during this whole thing. He didn't date that model I thought. I am not cosigning any rapper hanging out with any sibling lol. Masego, Lucky Daye, Snoh Allegra, Naomi Sharon, Sir, Her, etc... FD doesnt listen to R&B so he makes no sense. Younger people don't listen to Drake as much as he thinks and they listen to everything
28:48 if he makes mediocre R&B music why do we hold him to the standard of controlling the sound when there’s other artist that make better music than him? I feel like everyone just wants to point the finger at someone for the way music is going instead of pointing to the consumer because they have control of what they want to listen to.
I think most consumers aren’t deep music lovers so they’re just gonna listen to what’s easily found. It’s not Drakes fault and he didn’t intentionally do this, it’s just a result of him being the most popular artist. It’s like food, my friends a foodie I’m not. He’ll look for the most hidden hole in the wall places to go eat, while I have no problem going to what’s already poplur or known in an area. I’m pretty sure I’m missing out on some great food, but I just don’t care enough to go looking

Uncs still debating jay/nas lol because that battle was actually close. However, kdot/drake will be forgotten because it was so decisive. Drake is regulated to the ja rule meme realm.
People always assume that because an artist makes music with another artist they are friends or somehow indebted to the other. Kendrick making music with Dre or Kodak is business. When you go to work do you ask to see your colleagues criminal records or to know exactly what they do at home? Making a song with an artist is far from that person being your best friend and that person being in your inner circle. That’s the distinction between the two. Drake was even public with his support while the guy was facing charges and one can assume he helped fund his defence.
"When you go to work do you ask to see your colleagues criminal records or to know exactly what they do at home?" YES. Lmao. Are you ok? Professionally speaking it is in your best interest to filter who you work with because they have implications on the types of behavior you may support. Businesses do it to protect themselves and employees ALL the time. You can't just work with everyone.
I think Kendrick had the first two verses and hook for Not Like Us ready the same week he wrote Meet The Grahams, I think the 6:16 and Meet The Grahams timeline proved he knew Drake's diss was bout to drop but didn't know all the details of Family Matters, especially since Meet The Grahams and the first two verses of Not Like Us cover basically the same theme, and needed Family Matters to be fully released so the 3rd verse of Not Like Us can be written as a response, I don't think he had Not Like Us locked in the vault or anything, but I think he did plan it during the beef, which is still diabolical but it's probably not as crazy as he had it forever or he wrote it in a day. But to be fair, writing it in a day is still definitely very possible for Kendrick, even thinking back to how Daniel Caesar wrote Violet in 20 minutes, and Post Malone wrote most of Stay randomly singing lyrics over guitar jamming in the studio.
I've been saying it for years. Drake is the McDonald's of rap music. He's good enough for everyone to enjoy with minimal complaints but he ain't no cook out burger, he isn't something that's been crafted and molded he's just something quick and digestible.

29:59 I’ve never cared too much to explore contemporary RnB and sub-genres like soul like other genres to the point I do think of it as the love-making music stereotype. The type of content in more contemporary RnB (70s onwards) seemed so much more diluted as oppose to just classic blues/old folk records and the unfiltered emotions and songwriting that came with it. It’s nice when it comes on but I’ve always preferred anything else to generic love songs.

And I'm only saying that as someone who is similar. Yeah I'm on my journey and it may seem like I forgot, but I never forget the shit someone does to me. It's not purposeful, but that's just my personality. Most artistic people who create need to get out their feelings through their art, so I wouldn't be surprised if Kendrick was upset one day and wrote a song about drake or recorded something. Just to get it out of his system lol then combined those thoughts with the new stuff he wrote for the beef.
he's also a strategist every move he makes is calculated so he certainly had like 10 disses or 10 ideas of disses prepared to fight back, this man had his 4 albums run in mind when he started rapping

After making these assumptions, you get to the point where FD is criticizing Kendrick for being better prepared.
i mean you don't go against the most selling sucka in the industry without preparing your battle...

People saying FD is milking the beef:
It’s never this deep
@waynewayne8419 Clearly, it is, if so many people resonate with the messaging and are debating the topic.
@@kenmoops7547 no they aren’t, you guys are doing too much.
I think people forgot that back and forth rap beefs used to go on for YEARS and diss tracks weren’t dropped in a matter of days of one already being released

Love the way FD Signifier played the Father Time instrumental under the entire video.
Babila put a few different beats. There was Father Time, Count Me Out, Meet the Grahams, Saviour, even Black Boy Fly
I feel you two are saying a lot of words to sum this up when it’s easier to say-Drake is an unchecked monopoly business that no one is bussing up.
you mentioned “why Marvin’s room when you can Marvin gay?”, but ironically that’s what I did when I went through a breakup. Was bumping straight Marvin Gaye cuz it’s real and it hits with authenticity.
and it's way better musically than this microwave cheap rnb drake makes
But who are you to tell someone what resonates with them ?
@@AKrg9916 what that gotta do w what I said?
One minute ago is crazy
Do you think Kendrick and pusha t will release a diss track together against Drake t
@@keyuantejohnson4373 I don't think there's really a reason to. I think that Pusha T is probably going to crack a joke or two on his album at Drake's expense though. Especially if Drake's numbers don't hit the same peaks post beef.
@@phillipbell4394 i honestly do believe there Will be a not like us remix and I honestly do believe Kendrick will drop more diss tracks against drake

We all know Drake rides the wave of this new artist to stay relevant and I get the hate but in a business perspective I get it. The question is tho him doing that is it worth the hate?
Not only putting business over the culture, but using the culture is one of numerous reasons to hate Drake.

@@bigmo3692 this I agree but it is what it is
What ppl aren’t realizing is that the industry is a smaller circle than ppl think.
Gilbert Arenas calls Drake a vampire. He feeds off the youth to keep himself sounding fresh and young.
Unc my goat
I feel like everyone just wants to point the finger at someone for the way music is going instead of pointing to the consumer because they have control of what they want to listen to.
the fact that the consumer is lazy and duumb is litteraly the point lol they like stupid shit

Im 0:58 in and I just wanna say whoever did the art is amazing. I can absolutely tell thats kendrick and drake
But to be fair, writing it in a day is still definitely very possible for Kendrick, even thinking back to how Daniel Caesar wrote Violet in 20 minutes, and Post Malone wrote most of Stay randomly singing lyrics over guitar jamming in the studio.
no cap that Drake pose at 11:03 reminds me of the Kevin James meme
I've been saying it for years. Drake is the McDonald's of rap music. He's good enough for everyone to enjoy with minimal complaints but he ain't no cook out burger, he isn't something that's been crafted and molded he's just something quick and digestible.
Why FD acting like Kendrick hasn’t been throwing shots at Drake for literally over a decade💀 he didn’t just wait until now to diss him
