I’m a massive ink fan, but honestly I respect this reaction so much I get that the whole theatrics is not everyone’s vibe but the fact that you can still respect other aspects of the music is really respectable. The thing with ink and why I love them so much is I just think there so unique and you won’t really find any other bands doing what there doing which I guess can be very either you love it or hate it type scenario See I love the theatrics I can see why for other people see them as ‘not music’ but idk it’s ads character in the music for me and as someone who loves unique and different things I guess I’m the intended audience for them. Keep up the positive mindset it’s a joy to watch (even if this is just disliking my favourite band 😭)
I appreciate your comment!! And agreed music is subjection so I personally don’t get it but glad it makes you happy and I’m sorry for disking your favorite band 😭😭😭
I’ve seen these guys three times live and they’re so fun tbh! Respect your opinion but I wish you liked INK! Really love your TW reactions and other reactions too! Have an awesome night!
INK is an interesting band. Worth watching some YT about their history if you’re curious. Started out doing ska-punk, didn’t really get mainstream success until Silver Scream 1, and have really grinded to get to where they are now. IMO, Silver Scream 1 is better than 2. Less production, more raw sounding, and more of a “greatest hits” in terms of the movies they referenced. Little less campy, but still very on the nose in terms of how they reference source material. I think two albums worth checking out would be The Predator Becomes the Prey: specifically Connect the Cuts, What I Never Learned in Study Hall (great acoustic version available too), and Jonathan; and also the album Safe is Just a Shadow (re-recorded) featuring tracks Acceptance in the Waves, Red Sky Warning, and The Greatest Story Ever told.
Ice Nine Kills have really good chorus’. While I am a huge fan of the band and adore this album, I do feel like there is A LOT going on with sound effects and voices. Makes it easy to get disoriented on first listens. Also they are very cheesy or “cringe” to casual listeners. Much like the horror movies they pay homage to. The band is definitely catering to a VERY specific audience.
The screaming voice that you disliked is from one of the band's guitarists actually. The huge deep screaming, some other kinds of screams and the beautiful singing are from the band's lead vocalist.
Yay, I made it right till the end! What do I win? Just kidding, I actually kinda enjoyed it. Won't be playing it again (maybe the song the Box) but wasn't so bad. Funny at least.
35:00 This is not what all their music sounds like. Only the latest 2 because of the horror movie theme. I actually think you’d quite like some of their early workTheir albums “predator becomes the prey” and “every trick in the book” are my favorites by them. (And it’s a different guy helping Spencer out with screams) They both have sound incredible, and it doesn’t have all the theatrics and sound effects. They leaned very far into the theatercore side of things for these last two albums since they’re based on movies, which makes it not for everyone. I personally like it but I can see where others would be turned off, which is why when I try to get someone into them I show them the two albums I just mentioned. Glad you powered through the reaction! (Also I hope this doesn’t come across as me tryna get you to react to those albums, I wouldn’t wanna listen to another album from a band if I listened to an album in full that I wasn’t into either lol)
@@ashlenamusic some songs I’d recommend are, let’s bury the hatchet… in your head, the power in belief, the coffin is moving, connect the cuts, or the fastest way to a girls heart is through her ribcage. All of these are really good for a first listen and don’t have the theatrical elements really. They’re all on the same album as well.
You should give the musician Sub Urban a try, he has made a new music video and his new recent song sounds really good in my opinion. The song I'm talking about is called "Skinny Loser"
Yo, Ashlena I have been requested to react to this band for over a year. I did it 2 times and it's ok but its not my jam to be honest. People are still begging me to react to more of their stuff to try and get me on the "Ice Nine Kills band wagon" and I had to tell them I won't be reacting to any of their stuff anymore. No offense to the band or their fans its just not my vibe you know.
Yeah I totally get that. It’s kind of a waste of time to continue listening to them. I don’t mind doing some one off songs but another whole album no thanks
I subbed and noticed you did reactions to a lot of stuff I like but honestly I was pretty disappointed on several songs you didn’t give a chance a yawning, very disappointing because you have no idea what movies it’s about and how relatable it is but are quick to yawn and give negativity, maybe research a bit more
I made it pretty clear that i am not into movies so music based on movies is literally of no interest to me. There's no point in researching it, it's not going to make me like the music more. I did say they are super talented musically but I just don't dig the songs. Simple as that.
Unfortunately, I had to endure INK, when they were one of the openers (along with Wolfgang Van Halen/Mammoth WVH and Pantera) for Metallica's '72 Seasons' tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. I thought they were a ridiculous, absurd and frankly immature spectacle. When I looked around, it seemed that the majority of the audience thought so, too. I didn't get 'em either.
@@sophiecooper1824, you're not me, genius! I can describe it exactly how I saw it and felt about it, because I'm ME. I didn't use the word torture in my description, but now that you mention it . . . Hahahaha! Again, I used the word endure because it aptly describes my reaction. Thank you for your pointless reply, the reading of which I've also now had to ENDURE. Have a good night.
It feels like diff styles trying to be meshed together but it doesn't feel cohesive, and almost like they're trying too hard. You mentioned Fallout Boy, Panic! At the Disco, MCR....I never could get into those bands either.
This is the epitome of what I don't like in Rock. That noise that they make that sounds like they are regurgitating their lunch doesn't push my buttons either.
This is metalcore more so than "rock". If you think all rock sounds like metalcore, then you are sadly mistaken. Rock and metal are incredibly diverse genres. There is plenty of rock that has no screamed vocals, e.g. Breaking Benjamin, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Rain City Drive, State Champs, Citizen Soldier, Ashes Remain, etc.
I can tell you don’t listen to much rock then dude…within rock are many sub genres whether it’s metal core, black metal, screams etc….otherwise it’s just not for you bro.
I’ve personally never been into the theatrics and drama that comes with this type of music. Just doesn’t draw me in like other metal thats genuine and from the heart. Aside from a couple of concept EP’s like Space or Zombies by TDWP
i really respect reviewers who can say “i don’t like this but i get why fans do”
Thanks!
I really hope you make it to that show. Ice Nine Kills live is a very interesting theatrical experience.

Maybe I’ll see them if I got to Metallica
oh yes it’s about time for ice nine kills
I love that she got through it even though she doesn't like it. Love INK
It was a brutal day haha
They covered someone like you by Adele and walking on sunshine by katrina and the waves as well.
