Another effect of the changes made to mineral patches in LotV was that matches didn´t last nearly as long. If memory serves all matches in the big tournaments used to be Bo5 with the final match being Bo7. That was eventually scrapped cuz the matches would drag out far too long. Once the maps mined out faster the matches themselves didn´t last as long. But it wasn´t until the latest World Championship (2024) that the old Bo5-format was reintroduced with Quarter and Semifinals being Bo7 and the final match Bo9. At least that's how I remember it feel free to correct me if I´m wrong.
That proxy hatch was sweet. Does that build hit harder if MaxPax had gone for 2 gate adept or twilight and fast blink rather than stargate? Or do you just die to the counter aggression because you have nothing at home?
I'm just not sure you can actually get through the battery healing. I think the best bet is to go 2 queens, 3 spines + 3 spores and just hold position just in range of the minerals where stalkers can't really return fire from across the minerals. Then just transition into 2-base hydra vs the 1 base mining protoss. Shin's used the build too many times in tournaments now so I don't think he'll be winning many more matches with it simply because the Protoss players are mentally prepared and their respones are super tight now
It costs an extra 100 minerals, 6s longer build time and has very low damage compared to the oracle - long term it'll of course do way more damage though since it doesn't run out of energy. Either way with that stargate pylon so far out of position where he can't get a bettery in the main mineral line nor protect the SG it's going to be a near impossible hold
