For 369 its quite good, like u had quite a long lens on the sony there and the motor stiffness was also low so it can carry some good weight and balance as well!!! Incase you have too many gimbals, i would be happy to use one of them😂😂
I switched from Weebil S out to DJI RS3 (standard), and it's just fine! The automatic lock and unlock function makes this stabilizer the most convenient for me! It's very cool that technology is developing so well, I hope the first stabilizers with a fully automatic camera balance function will be released soon. The only thing that is a little annoying in the DJI RS3 is that the lowest motor does not immediately react to left-right turns, even at the fastest speed in the settings. Is this how it should be?

So the big question for you Mark, should I get this or continue to use catalyst browse. I bought the crane m3, crane m2s, and ronin rs this week and tried them all out. They all felt cumbersome and that there would be a period of time till I felt comfortable using a gimble. I was about to order the rs3 mini but decided to stick with catalyst browse. Thoughts?
Stay with catalyst - the rs3 mini will feel the same to you. gimbals are a whole thing and if you need them - you need them. but if you can avoid them - even better.
I want to do some simple product b roll videos, i think desk mounted simple video, doubt I'll be doing any on the nove walking/talkin footage. Should i invest in a gumbal & which one? Or would I better investing in a motorized slider?

I have that exact setup with the Viltrox 13 Z30 and crane m3 and it works well, but it is at the end of the limits. The rs3 mini will give you more options if you want to be able to put on a wireless lav system or hold heavier lenses in the future.

im trying to decide between the zv e10 and the zv 1 for a more proffesional camera than the action cameras that i currently use. i love the idea of the e10 but im really worried about the rolling shutter as am in a powerchair and have a tremor and twitch and dont want to have to use a tripod and want to film dogs. the crop in is a wory for the zv1. what do you think? budget is an issue for me
The ZV1-F is actually a great camera with a wide lens. You can use catalyst browse to stabilize your ZV-E10, ZV1 or ZV1-F footage. It's free and it's not that difficult (but it takes a while).
Hi Mark, will it balance Canon M50 with Sigma 16mm f1/4 and a variable ND filter? Crane M3 has problems with that and also it's hard to balance it so it doesn't hit the eyepiece. Thanks in advance.
Hi Mark, have been always a DJI fan cos of their quality products. This gimbal came out right after I bought Zhiyun M2S for my ZV-E10 ( cos I thought RS3 is an overkill for my beginner setup). Now I’m contemplating whether I should just sell away my Zhiyun and get the DJI RS 3 mini instead since I’m more familiar with DJI .. what do u think?
It’s really up to you. But I prefer the crane m2s if it can handle my camera and lens. It’s so much lighter and smaller. The DJI is basically twice as big but it can do way more.
I know that for a Sony a6700 with a lense of 700g, this gimbal support it. However, if you add a lavalier receiver, or mic, or monitor, do you think it would work?
hey man, got this thing for my zve10+sigma 18-50 duo as a vertical setup, but shit , still gotta use catalyst (its like i cant escape using catalyst now) 😩
its hard to balance a camera with a monitor on it because the monitor will hit the motors when balancing. But if the camera and les aren't too long - you can balance that first, put on the monitor and it should hold as long as it doesn't exceed the 4.4 lbs
Thanks Mark. I'm a little jealous that it can natively start and stop the recording with the ZV-E10 unlike my Crane M3. Smallrig has a $25 remote that you can attach with those velcro zip ties but I'm wondering if there's another workaround you've found to control the ZV-E10 with the Crane M3?
I think if you buy the £85 base attachment for the bottom and bluetooth adapter it will work but it's naff you have to buy it to be honest...I sent my Crane M3 back to Amazon and bought the RS3 Mini and so far it works great with the ZV-E10 (apart from the quick release mount which I am now obsessing over 😀)
@@ThePhobicFlyer my concern is their app on Android. I sent back an earlier dji gimbal because the app didn't work well with android and you had to side load it. But I was trying to use it FOR my phone at the time. It looks a bit more useful than my Crane M3 but I'm stuck with that one for a while.
Nice video! What are your thoughts on the value of RavenEye? I just bought a RavenEye with the intention of getting the RS3 for my A6600. I initially planned to use it as a remote monitor and to be able to start/stop recording while being in front of the camera. I have been very disappointed. The functionality is flakey and seems to be sensitive to the power-up sequence of the unit and the camera. I don't plan on getting the RS3 for some time, so I'll likely return the RavenEye unless someone can convince me Active Track with a gimbal is super useful for filming yourself.
Thanks. I think you are right. I knew it was kind of backwards to get it before the gimbal, but it was finally available on Amazon as a stand-alone device so I jumped on it. Previously, you could only get it as part of a kit on their top of the line gimbals like the RS3 Pro Combo.

Once out of 10 tries, I manage to connect everything and it works fine. if you can balance your - I wouldn’t change. the res3 mini is great, but the m3 is smaller, lighter and does a slightly better job with stabilization in my opinion,

find the m3 is a big better with the bobbing up and down by a little. but if the gimbal isn’t working for you - the dji might be epithet way to go, more features and can support more weight.
I have a friend offering to trade in his RS3 Mini for my Weebill S and tripod. Right now im using an a6400 with a sigma 30mm , but thinking of adding a sigma 18-35 i also sometimes fly my friend's a7iii ( not the rs3 mini user ). Asking from my other friend who've used it said that the pov mode isnt as responsive and the arms is really limiting ( i'd be doing 20% vertical content ). Is it worth it to trade it in ?
Hi Mark, love your video and subscribed to your channel recently. I have a ZV-E10 and 18-105mm F4 zoom lens. Will the Zhiyun M3 work with this setup? I want to get the M3 because it is smaller than the RS3 Mini and it can switch between landscape and portrait modes more easily. However I am not sure about the compatibility. The Zhiyun website doesn't have this lens for ZV-E10 on the compatibility list but the RS3 Mini does....decision decisions. I am also a Canadian currently based in Hong Kong and can't get a refund on purchases in HK unfortunately :( Thanks in advance!
I love the M3 - but you should get the RS3 Mini - the 18-105 and zv-e10 won't work with the Crane M3. The RS3 Mini will allow you to start and stop the camera as well and power zoom. It's also not much bigger than the M3.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis By the way I just went to one of the shopping malls here in Hong Kong with my zv-e10 and 18-105 lens. Fortunately I found a shop with a demo unit of the Zjhiyun M3 and the salesperson volunteered to help me test balancing my set up. As you correctly pointed out the len’s simply to heavy for the camera. He couldn’t balance it on the tilt axis even after moving the camera all the way to the back. I guess there’s a way to add counterbalance to make it work but the whole setup may be too heavy for the gimbal. Too bad they have sold out all the RS3 mini’s or I’d be more than happy to get one right there at the store. I ended up getting it from another store in the mall. Thanks again Mark.

Oh, yes - sorry - if you have one of the newer DSLR's with bluetooth that is supported - you should be fine. But for some reason they say "certain supported DSLR's"
If you were to invest in the Raven Eye for this gimbal you would be disappointed with with it and the ZV-E10. It does not work with it. I have the RSC2 with Raven Eye and it will only work properly with my Canon 90D. I was very disappointed as that was what I wanted to use it for. If you did get it and managed to work it out for use with the ZV-E10 you would make a lot of viewers very very happy.

The panning usually isn't "immediate" but in sport mode it should react quickly
Turn your deadband off
I guess you need to check your deadband setting. Change it to 0 and it will react to every left and right movement.
Does the M button also allow you to take photos like RS3?

yes - it will balance that - there a lot more clearance with the DJI Mini

It’s really up to you. But I prefer the crane m2s if it can handle my camera and lens. It’s so much lighter and smaller. The DJI is basically twice as big but it can do way more.

its hard to balance a camera with a monitor on it because the monitor will hit the motors when balancing. But if the camera and les aren't too long - you can balance that first, put on the monitor and it should hold as long as it doesn't exceed the 4.4 lbs

I like the M3S a bit more, but the RS3 Mini fits more camera. and lens combos - so it depends a little on what you want to put on the gimbal

Thanks Mark. I'm a little jealous that it can natively start and stop the recording with the ZV-E10 unlike my Crane M3. Smallrig has a $25 remote that you can attach with those velcro zip ties but I'm wondering if there's another workaround you've found to control the ZV-E10 with the Crane M3?
Zhiyun sells a separate $25 transmount Bluetooth control module for the Crane M3 which I believe could give you this capability

I think if you buy the £85 base attachment for the bottom and bluetooth adapter it will work but it's naff you have to buy it to be honest...I sent my Crane M3 back to Amazon and bought the RS3 Mini and so far it works great with the ZV-E10 (apart from the quick release mount which I am now obsessing over 😀)
@@ThePhobicFlyer my concern is their app on Android. I sent back an earlier dji gimbal because the app didn't work well with android and you had to side load it. But I was trying to use it FOR my phone at the time. It looks a bit more useful than my Crane M3 but I'm stuck with that one for a while.

Nice video! What are your thoughts on the value of RavenEye? I just bought a RavenEye with the intention of getting the RS3 for my A6600. I initially planned to use it as a remote monitor and to be able to start/stop recording while being in front of the camera. I have been very disappointed. The functionality is flakey and seems to be sensitive to the power-up sequence of the unit and the camera. I don't plan on getting the RS3 for some time, so I'll likely return the RavenEye unless someone can convince me Active Track with a gimbal is super useful for filming yourself.
I don’t think you need it for most stuff. I would return it and think about it later if maybe you do pick up an rs3.
Thanks. I think you are right. I knew it was kind of backwards to get it before the gimbal, but it was finally available on Amazon as a stand-alone device so I jumped on it. Previously, you could only get it as part of a kit on their top of the line gimbals like the RS3 Pro Combo.

it connects fine to Bluetooth as long as you hav Bluetooth enabled and select pairing

Once out of 10 tries, I manage to connect everything and it works fine. It seems to me that it's about the order of connections, but it would be great if, as a professor, maybe you could get Raven eye and connect one of the Sony cameras? What you think?

if you can balance your - I wouldn’t change. the res3 mini is great, but the m3 is smaller, lighter and does a slightly better job with stabilization in my opinion,
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I see but I can't control via m3 gimbal like do not change iso, aperture, record button etc. Also Stabilization of m3 is not good for zfc camera... So if gimbal is heavier then camera will be better? Rs3 not good on zfc for stabilization?
find the m3 is a big better with the bobbing up and down by a little. but if the gimbal isn’t working for you - the dji might be epithet way to go, more features and can support more weight.
I have a friend offering to trade in his RS3 Mini for my Weebill S and tripod.
Right now im using an a6400 with a sigma 30mm , but thinking of adding a sigma 18-35
i also sometimes fly my friend's a7iii ( not the rs3 mini user ).
Asking from my other friend who've used it said that the pov mode isnt as responsive and the arms is really limiting ( i'd be doing 20% vertical content ).

Hi Mark, love your video and subscribed to your channel recently. I have a ZV-E10 and 18-105mm F4 zoom lens. Will the Zhiyun M3 work with this setup? I want to get the M3 because it is smaller than the RS3 Mini and it can switch between landscape and portrait modes more easily. However I am not sure about the compatibility. The Zhiyun website doesn't have this lens for ZV-E10 on the compatibility list but the RS3 Mini does....decision decisions. I am also a Canadian currently based in Hong Kong and can't get a refund on purchases in HK unfortunately :( Thanks in advance!
I love the M3 - but you should get the RS3 Mini - the 18-105 and zv-e10 won't work with the Crane M3. The RS3 Mini will allow you to start and stop the camera as well and power zoom. It's also not much bigger than the M3.

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis By the way I just went to one of the shopping malls here in Hong Kong with my zv-e10 and 18-105 lens. Fortunately I found a shop with a demo unit of the Zjhiyun M3 and the salesperson volunteered to help me test balancing my set up. As you correctly pointed out the len’s simply to heavy for the camera. He couldn’t balance it on the tilt axis even after moving the camera all the way to the back. I guess there’s a way to add counterbalance to make it work but the whole setup may be too heavy for the gimbal. Too bad they have sold out all the RS3 mini’s or I’d be more than happy to get one right there at the store. I ended up getting it from another store in the mall. Thanks again Mark.

I think some people like to turn on the camera's IBIS and use that with Gimbals sometimes - but I wouldn't do it. The Mini is fine on it's own

Oh, yes - sorry - if you have one of the newer DSLR's with bluetooth that is supported - you should be fine. But for some reason they say "certain supported DSLR's"

If you were to invest in the Raven Eye for this gimbal you would be disappointed with with it and the ZV-E10. It does not work with it. I have the RSC2 with Raven Eye and it will only work properly with my Canon 90D. I was very disappointed as that was what I wanted to use it for. If you did get it and managed to work it out for use with the ZV-E10 you would make a lot of viewers very very happy.
