Okay, so far, it seems pretty loyal to the original game. I'll never understand the need to unnecessarily change certain events, but besides that, it might turn out pretty great. I'll be keeping the optimism ♡.
I'm so happy to see actual fans liking this gameplay for what it is. The game looks great, it's my all-time favorite, and I can't wait to play this again. And for those comparing James and Leon, remember that James is not a trained elite cop, and that it is normal for games to match some "standards" like shoulder camera. Like Tomb Raider inspired Uncharted, and last uncharted games inspired last Tomb Raider games. Now I really can't wait to hear the musics, like Laura's Theme
I can't wait to play Slient Hill 2 remake. But I've seen people being negative about the graphics and irrelevant stuff. I don't care I'm excited to play it!

The comparison of Angela is completely unfair and ridiculous. What concerns me is no physical deluxe edition.
I thought Angela looked like an average women pretty much. There's really nothing ugly about her character model at all in my opinion. So I thought it was really unfair for people to say she got stung by Bee's etc honestly. Like yeah she has puffier cheeks, but does that destroy her visual design in anyway? No not at all. I think she looks quite beautiful actually. Like of course there's gonna be new face models via because of the technology we have now. But the way people are acting, you'd have thought that they made her like 300 pounds or made her black. Ya know? Something outrageous like that. But no.

Look at what they did to Maria not just Angela. Maria is a depiction of James sexual fantasy of how his wife Mary should look but they missed the mark and as for Angela the brows and the overall bad ps3 graphics on her instead of AAA games... What a baloney and worst of all it's for the modern audience crap with its crazy DEI nonsense. The original is a masterpiece. Not buying this remake of a garbage for modern audiences no matter how much I love Silent Hill franchise. Old is always Gold.
We can only hope they've turned over a new leaf. From what I've heard the pachinko maniacs were laid off and thats why we're suddenly getting actual games announced from them. I'm not saying we sould trust them 100% but I'm villing to give them a chance to see if they're actually care about games now.
reminder, the konami that had issues with kojima have been long gone, those were the guys that stopped triple A production in favor of mobile gaming. they have already restructured since 2020 if i recall and both kojima and konami have long been okay ever since their breakup. they also brought back masahiro ito, while only one part of team silent , has been a huge part on development which included the combat and monster design of the remake.
Konami hired a "consultancy firm" and gave the Silent Hill 2 remake project to an external studio, that alone gives me a bad feeling about all of this. As for the new Angela Orosco design, while I do find it ugly as hell, I think it can match the theme of the Silent Hill series which is all about trauma being given monster forms in the physical realm. I mean, who know how she's dealing with her own horrible trauma, she could have gotten a compusilve eating disorder or something, everyone has an unhealthy way to cope with their own trauma.
on the other side, masahiro ito who was a major part of team silent has been a massive part of development of the game. he was the one who conceptualized the combat concept and all the monster designs came from him. bloober respects him a lot and have been doing what masahiro wants which included pyramid head's skinnier version that matched ito's old design. i dont think we'll ever get a return of team silent since most of them are retired, or working full time on other companies but im just happy that konami at least gave respect on some of the members and how big they are to the ip

As soon as i saw the trailer I knew Konami's gameplan was "see what resident evil is doing? Do exactly that" and it's great to see them getting back to the basics.
For one they tone down the nurse and maria sexual appealing. Which they shouldn't have, now james story make no sense since he has sexual lust. If you think it doesn't matter, then youre the problem. It all explain in the game and notes.

@kg888 The nurses still have stockings and cleavelage. There are probably different models they use so they all feel unique a bit so what you probably are referring to are the nurses that have that toned down model. But from what I saw the more sexual ones are still in the game.
I’m a longtime SH fan and man, I’m pleased with everything I’m seeing. I was initially hesitant and I certainly have some nitpicks, but overall? It looks solid! The graphics are insane, the environments are lush with detail, the character models are faithful (aside from a couple design changes, which I don’t mind), and the voice performances are the perfect middle ground between the original’s intentionally affectless, off-beat delivery and a more emotional, modern take. I’m very excited!

I came here to say this too. The people who do nothing but complain about the smallest details are annoying. I thought James face was fine before they changed it. But they changed it, and it still looks good, but now people are saying he looks too much like Leon. People are complaining about Angela's face, and I could care less how attractive Angela is as long as she properly represents the essence of the original character. Which I think she does. The voice acting I think is top notch in this remake and I think they're nailing the mood, tone, and atmosphere. I don't know if it'll be day one for me because it's hard for me to make time for games like I used to, but I'm definitely going to pay this if they stick the landing.

It's good to see a perspective from actual survival horror fans. I am truly excited for this as this is my favorite game in the series. The trolls are really seething because of Angela and calling her fat but she doesn't look fat at all. For people out there, I think it would soften the blow if they made a proper modern port of the original with the original voice acting so this remake can be its own thing. Yes, there is the HD collection, but thanks for the seventh generation of consoles not everyone still has their PS3 Xbox 360, I like when I’m seeing from this game they just need to do something with Angela’s character model graphically. It looks like it’s from a PS3 not an unreal engine.

To me this looks pretty incredible minus the micro-expressions being a little off. It keeps giving me that uncanny valley feeling. If you're going for stylized, excellent, it can have an artistic flair. If you're going for realism then it has to be very neatly completed in when it comes to all aspects of the game. It doesn't bother me much at all because we seem to be getting a game with love, care and dedication. That's what I care about, getting the story, environment, soundtrack and acting done well.
No, Maria does NOT look good. Her outfit has been de-sexualized, which goes completely against what her character is supposed to represent. You guys need to stick to Resident Evil stuff.
Maria absolutely does look good. So what if she has a jacket on now. Her character can still be represented through dialogue and actions. She still looks and acts like maria and thats what matters most. The real problem would be if they changed her story/meaning since thats brutally important to the overall story. Her having a longer jacket is the least of our worries
Why is someone restricted to stay on resident evil? These guys are so great creators beyond Resident evil. Survival Horror as a whole. They can do whatever they please. And I’m here for it.
