Good job done Dave. After the first two trees I wondered how you'd go with the last one, but a bit of perseverance certainly pays off. We have quite a big nectarine tree that we've never once tasted the fruit off it. The possums clean it out when the fruit is still hard and green. Maybe i should try some camelias. cheers buddy.

G'day Mike. Good to hear from you. Very frustrating when you put so much work in and it doesn't work out. Let's not talk about the damage that the bloody wild rabbits are doing! Cheers Dave.

I have had a bit of success using the 4n1 bucket on the tractor to do the same thing. Open up the bucket and drop it over and lift.

Daveo! Are you happy with the size of your excavator? Or if you had the time again would you get something a little bigger like the 1.5t uhi?

      Great question!
At the time I bought the UME12 machine I had a limited budget and paid $16,500 AUD for it. I did look at larger models and 'name' machines but the price would have doubled. I was happy with the price but really would have struggled with paying more for a bigger machine.
So 3 years later I am happy with the machine but I would like to get a slightly heavier machine in the 1.7 tonne range. They are a little more stable to use, have better side controls and have bigger hydraulic pumps i.e more power.
However in this area there are a lot of machines that do not come with the additional 9 attachments that you may or may not use (I use about 7 of the 9) - most just have the three basic buckets. UHI have a nice 1.7 digger that now comes with implements, so does the 'Archilles' machine.
I did like the look of the SANY 1.7 machine (still is a Chines made machine) - but it only comes with 3 buckets and is about $31,000 AUD.
My UME12 has done just under 100 hours so it is not used much. Only problem I have had to fix was the travel motor seal.
I am also thinking I might sell my digger and buy a tired second hand bigger machine like a Kubota or CAT and then do a series of videos on the restoration. Cheers Dave.
