adrienne maree brown then joins, diving right into the disappearance of the community alongside growing feelings of insecurity, isolation, and bigotry, tackling how this phenomenon is cultivated and stoked by the disappearance of public spaces. Expanding on this, maree brown walks through the precarious balance between rejecting mentalities of supremacy and dehumanization that divide us without cutting the line of humanity with the people who hold those views, before stepping back to tackle a few particular essays in ‘Loving Corrections,’ which tackle the idea of countering the narratives of supremacy that have taken root in particular ideologies (patriarchy, Zionism) without atomizing or marginalizing the identities that have been corrupted (masculinity, Judaism, respectively). After expanding on the importance of understanding the historical and social context for building these bridges, adrienne and Emma bring the conversation to a close with the importance of understanding the personal context of interpersonal conflict.

Im glad someone had to come onto the show to explain to American leftists that empathy for all people is a good thing, yes even people you hate with every fiber of your being (because it builds solidarity and sets stable precedent).
Yawn. So you are trying to trigger people so you can go 'see'? How lacking in empathy, decency and morality.
You are right, except the part where all you do is judge and shame people. Look in a mirror maybe if solidarity is in fact your goal
It's hard to be empathetic to people who want you dead
I love Adrienne Maree Brown! Just bought her book ❤️
I loved this so much! Thank you for this!!!
Thanks for this convo
I struggle with empathy for some people, because in most cases (for me and where I live at least), it's very one-sided and exhausting. Even that wouldn't be so bad if I didn't feel like some of them get a kick out of that.
I think it's good to be empathetic but that doesn't always mean dialogue. Some people don't want to engage in an good faith dialogue. We have to take direct action to get people to a point where they are willing to talk.
@@ValQuinn What kind of direct action do you think would be appropriate?
@@hughjorgen3164 It depends on what the political cause is.
@@ValQuinn The political cause? I'm not sure what that means. Do you have any examples of causes and remedies? Tanks.
@@hughjorgen3164 Take Gandhi. The cause for which he fought was Indian independence. The British Empire imposed a heavy tax on India's salt production. So he organised a direct action called the Salt March, the idea was they would simply make salt but not pay the tax. It disrupted things enough that eventually his opponents were willing to talk. The idea of nonviolence being not to surrender your power, but to always take action with a view to dialogue. Look up 'satyagraha' if you want a more detailed view on Gandhi's philosophy.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸😢
:) thank you, I’m going check her books out.
I don't think that a lot of people want people to see the child in them. I agree that a lot of the problem has to do with wounds from upbringing, but people that are against Feminism do not subscribe to that and seem to get very threatened by anyone starting to shine a light on that part of themselves. I think some of them might be more easily corrected with logic processes that point out the fallacies of white against black and boy against girl (very child-ish viewpoints and dynamics), and then some others are perfectly fine with being staunch and belligerent about maintaining status of a system that lets them feel the most powerful and privileged. They're stuck, and it's taking *A LOT* of time, centuries, to get even a glimmers of hope.
Then there is the matter of the kind of people that love and personally gain from the division and hierarchy.
I'm so happy that leftists are coming around to a more empathetic view. This is the only way we build a coalition
Give an example of leftists lacking empathy. An example that leftists will not post links to trumps rallies as a WTF retort.
great convo
I think this message should be pointed to more Woman. Especially the ones who still hold men to the old standards of masculinity. We don't want to hold all of the burden but even the progressive woman still wish to see men in dominating roles.
Empathy isnt the problem. With humanity its always PRIDE.
Another warlock!
No one is actually all that interested in building empathy across political lines. I would genuinely be shocked if we don't have a civil war in this country in my lifetime. Distrust and hatred will continue to be the major themes of our politics. People on the Right and Left will continue to live in their own worlds and ruthlessly mock the worlds of the other. No matter who wins in this election, the side that loses will have a massive wave of mockery and humiliation headed its way. We, as Americans, love the tears and pain of people on the other side. Heck, we love the tears and pain of people who just mildly disagree with us but who are still on our side haha. Compassion and empathy are pretty much dead in American politics because trust is dead in American politics.
Many people on the left and right see its a battle between rich and poor, not L & R. You are a part of the loud minority attempting to cause schisms.

The video is about empathy. Ever heard of it?
Not to be divisive but it's pronounced duh vai suhv.
Too bad Emma has a lack of empathy and understanding
Muslims sisters and brothers please don’t criticize idiots, they’re defending Isa (PBUH)!
God Jews and Christians donated your brain to science and this is why such statements Jews, Christians please let us understand this from you all, God born from a mother Maryam bint Imran (PBUTA) and died for our sins, the same sins God give us to murder people and now remind us what is the purpose of life 🥱”?
Among the group of religious texts considered to be valid revelations, the three that are mentioned by name in the Quran are the Tawrat (Arabic for Torah), received by prophets and messengers amongst the Children of Israel; the Zabur (Psalms), received by David; and the Injeel (Arabic for the Gospel), received by Jesus confirmation of previous scriptures, such as the

The word ISLAM mean in Arabic ‘submission’, from 'aslama ‘submit (to God and Arabic translation is Allah)
So coming back to purpose of life can be interpreted in many ways, including: # 1. Educating give intellectual, moral, and social instruction to (someone, especially a child), typically at a home, place of worship, school, university or and workplace etc!
But # 1 is basic because in purpose of keeping us ignorant and I wonder who benefits from this?

We see you have internalized Adrienne’s message
@@wf2197 I've seen quite a few examples of what the majority report does by watching daily for over a year around 2021. Adrienne has a lovely message and I want good for this world and I have spoken to people who I disagree with in an empathetic way personally. Yet I feel that the majority report does more harm than good since The conflict in Gaza began
