Only six R-32 cars were used on today's (Saturday 9/14/2024) runs: [N] #3360-3361+3351-3350+3889-3888 [S]. The side roll signs are back on #3350-3351 for now.
Great stuff. Having worked in the New York City Transit Authority for 26 years and riding the subways all of my life, as a Transit Museum member, I’m proud that these cars have been saved. And 10 R32s ! I remember when they were brand new in 1964.
A bit earlier that day, there was a move of some other preserved R32s with BMT Triplexes sandwiched between them - curious if anyone got footage of that!
Cool video. I hope a full 10-car R32 consist is used for the "Celebrating 60 Years Of Brightliners" event!
I hope in truth the tomc got to be for the 120th anniversary of the subway. Because I know the sept 14 is the R32 will be used
MTA didn't save enough R32 pairs for a full 10 car. Most likely, they would use a combination of R32/38 and R10/22 sets
@@Stanf954 No, they have enough cars for a 10-car train.
@Stanf954 There are 16 R-32 cars that have been set aside for NYTM use, movie production, and training purposes.

1:40 It’s good getting to hear those iconic and distinct R32 Phase II Brakes in action. Such a crazy relic.
yup. i remember riding them as if it was yesterday!
R32 Phase II Brake is in action my favorite R32, the Phase II R32.
1:45 been too long since we last heard that brake release
The R-38 pair, the two surviving Thunderbirds and the R-16
Any word on the parade of trains 2024

I Was Wondering Where Did They Move 3350- Haven't Been At Coney Island Yard For Quite Sumtime...
Odd that they had a pair of R38 and R10 in the consist and not the R33/36 WF. Must have been a transfer move to CIY.
