This young lady is awesome, you can see she has a passion for what she is doing. She is a great interview, she makes and keeps eye contact with Curtis as she listens and answers with experience and knowledge. Then she is thinking and looks like envisioning the answer, and very animated as she does so . Vanessa is awesome.. thanks for the great interview... kinda jealous of her.. she is living what she is loving.. and i work at Costco (not THAT Costco where she buys her shelves, that would be awesome, but im in NC).. not a passion but a good place to work... maybe someday.
A Lawn mowing business can be started for under a thousand. The key is if people can find you or not. So if there is many enquirers and you quote immediately without going to the property. Then secure payment on the day before its mowed. This can enable peace of mind, higher quoting prices and the ability to orgnise the work ahead of time.
@@gardeningwithatley3098 A lot of these microgreens growers have transitioned to 4 ft LED t5's, microgreens aren't too picky about the power of their lights so you can get away with a lower output light like a full spectrum LED and it uses significantly less electricity..
Thank you for the wonderful video Mr. Curtis. I am starting a microgreens business in Bethlehem PA and your videos are very educational. Thank you for all you've done and for making all the videos for us. Cheers🌾
Good video Curtis. will Def check Vanessa out. 250 flats a week, she's doing great! I've watch your microgreen videos and watch a few other people's and there's one thing I can't see on any of them. As micros are sold in weight, per pound or clamshell. how much weight on average do you get from a flat of the basic staples, sunflower, pea and radish?
Great video. Very eye opening. I think micro greens would be a great entry way, or gateway path into farming. Short turn over, Decent market. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your effort in producing this video.
How do you sell this much volume? It would be great to understand the market, what kind of stores, how much per store, which varieties and so forth. Thanks for the great video
a year ago I had this motivation but now I just grow enough to sell, i may no money if they don't sell. there are three growers in my area and the market hasn't taken off like it should.
Hey Curtis, I've just been to the Australia and New Zealand Biochar Conference and heard a lot of promising talks about the use of biochar and biochar fertilisers (Inc organic ferts) for a whole range of crops including veggies across across the globe, with china leading the charge. With the huge amount of research going into this area, have you done any experiments with it or looked into it at all? Cheers, Aiden
Curtis, when are you going to get your Microgreens class up and running online. I have someone I want to recommend to your course so he can get started on phase 3 of his adult life.
Alexander Vlaescu I am glad that someone else raised the same concern as me about the use of plastics. The video didn’t specify the type of plastic used, but showed it on multiple occasions. When I make my purchases I take into account multiple things - and packaging is one of them.
Why on earth is this girl working alone? I'd help her, for no compensation whatsoever, simply for the pleasure of her company! She's a ten! Smart and hard working as well. Wow.
I like these interview style videos Curtis because it helps motivate, inspire, and educate viewers through entrepreneurs personal experience. thank you sir& thank you Vanessa:)
All of Micro YYC's packaging is actually compostable - made from plants! Still not a perfect solution, but it does have to be packaged in something. Thanks for the comment!
Don't let the self-righteousness of RUclips comments bother you Vanessa. People who have opinions about these issues are most likely not acting as part of any solution. Just shitting on you for trying.
She is amazing. It DOES have to be packaged in something. Good to see at least one person (Nathan) has been able to do away with plastic-type packaging entirely. The rest of us do the best we can. I love seeing all the plant-based packaging though!
If you're getting like tendonitis and lower back pain from this kind of work, it's because you're actually not very healthy. You might want to try ketosis. I work 12 hours a day doing extremely repetitive 5000 to 10,000 actions on about 18 to 22 of my joints per night operating heavy logging equipment. I have absolutely no pain no soreness no tendonitis, despite being a guitar player a computer gamer in a 12 hour per day logger holding two joysticks moving them around and smashing 20 diff buttons. Pre keto, sore all the time Post keto, never sore. Oh yeah, you look like you're hardcore vegan. Stop that. That's another reason why you're not able to handle such simple and easy work. I know people might think it's more work than I'm saying but I do 20 times this work 12h perday everyday for months at a time and never have any soreness.
Steven Lechner bro you've posted 3 comments now. All 3 of which are trying to read way into the interview situation trying to make it seem like he's into her. You look and sound very weird.
Having a conversation in front of a camera is not first nature for most people, but they did very well. The reason most of us are here is to learn farming, growing and business from Curtis and the other bright folks who have bravely taken the plunge, and are innovating and succeeding.

Thank you Mr. Stone for another wonderful video.

this was a great interview. thanks
Hey Jeb. I like you videos but I'm not a subscriber. Somehow I'm feeling guilty about that.
Jeb, let's start a hydroponic farm together
Great music and good vibes all around! TY Curtis Stone ;)
She is successful because she has a good head for the details of her business not just knowledge of her product.
What lights does she use indoor for microgreens? Or reccomend?
they look life 4 foot t5's. t5 is a high output flourescent light.

Dude, that is what the community is about. Thank you!
I think it's cool you have your grow riverside shirt on. Was a great quick opportunity to meet you.
Thank you for the wonderful video Mr. Curtis. I am starting a microgreens business in Bethlehem PA and your videos are very educational.
Thank you for all you've done and for making all the videos for us. Cheers🌾
Thanks for the great content! Keeping me fueled with the farming insights and business growth mindset!
Curtis....your content is so good. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the interview
Once again a great video... and oh boy is Vanessa cute ^^
What if I get sunflower "feed" seeds
Grow a shitload of sunflowers and save the bulbs for microgreens
Is that ok?
So cool to see her ramping up and to hear that she cash flowed it, and that she’s still excited about microgreens. Thanks for the interview!

great interview!! big inspiration to see a successful woman in farming!!

How do you sell this much volume? It would be great to understand the market, what kind of stores, how much per store, which varieties and so forth. Thanks for the great video
Restaurants or direct to home. you can't keep them for long in grocery stores unlike regular veggies
Great video! Thanks!

Yeah nice Miles Davis Blue in Green sample!
thank you for all your wonderful content
Love your videos Curtis, also love lone tree cider 😜
what a green wall!
Hope I have a similar story some day...soon!
Do health inspectors shut down house operations?
Not really no.
that is awesome to hear ! Great knowledge out there
Great Interview on multiple levels. Glad I back tracked.
Is that beer y'all are drinkin'?
Curtis, when are you going to get your Microgreens class up and running online. I have someone I want to recommend to your course so he can get started on phase 3 of his adult life.
It's up dude. bit.ly/MyMicrogreensCourse
Shoots are tasty and add nice texture to salads. I'm a fan. Younger greens tend to be superior to older ones too.
Great stuff Curtis, love the new format!
Super! Go girl. Edit!!! Did I hear reseller? Haha
Good video. I would like to learn more on starting a micro frm Business. I was wondering are there any e-books audio tapes etc.?
Very informative! Good vid.
great vid as always keep them comming
You never gave out her Instagram.
A tiny pinch of micro greens packaged in a thick single use non compostable plastic box.
Its compostable...
Alexander Vlaescu 1:44 shows a large stack of clear plastic containers
check nathan browne's comment never assume and criticize someone based on that.
Alexander Vlaescu I am glad that someone else raised the same concern as me about the use of plastics. The video didn’t specify the type of plastic used, but showed it on multiple occasions. When I make my purchases I take into account multiple things - and packaging is one of them.
WE NEED YOU IN NORTH CAROLINA
I really, really wish she was in nc also. It would really be nice to pick ber brain some more, what an awesome young lady!
Which 6 microgreens does she grow?
Great Vlog!
Looks just like my farm

really cool interview, found it quite insightful
Support for you form India
Canadians crack me up. You all sound like Bob and Doug McKenzie :-)
Canadians think Americans sound like Beveryhill Billies.
Awesome
Careful what you say about those permaculture people. They can be sensitive...
Scaling up within a niche; thanks, you entrepreneurs.
Here i am a office administrator wanting to be a farmer and here we have a farmer wanting to be an office admin. Hurts.
So much plastic packaging , not good . But having said that im still impressed .

Haha thanks Curtis. RUclips is a whole other thing than the Instagram bubble I usually live in!
Respect to you, Vanessa, for finding the best solution for your situation.

Happy I stumbled upon your interview with Curtis Stone. Sent you a DM on IG @grow.ingathome
Basement micro green setup you say...🤔🤔

Why the negative sounding swing at people involved in permaculture? Rather a strange comment to me.
he has made a video about on permaculture and you should watch it. He explains his opinion about it.
Permaculture = hippy dippy. Lol, made my day! For me hippy dippy = hydroponics.
She’s so cute! Why cant I find someone like her.... lol

Lol... great video. I have to laugh though it was like watching two people on a bad first date.
Steven Lechner bro you've posted 3 comments now. All 3 of which are trying to read way into the interview situation trying to make it seem like he's into her. You look and sound very weird.
Yes, it is a little weird. Maybe someone is projecting their own shortcomings?
Having a conversation in front of a camera is not first nature for most people, but they did very well. The reason most of us are here is to learn farming, growing and business from Curtis and the other bright folks who have bravely taken the plunge, and are innovating and succeeding.
Hmu I gotchu for a future man girl
If she left the word “like” out of her vocabulary the video would be half as long.
and half as cute.
Omg...if she leans anymore away from Curtis she is going to fall off her chair.
Love, absolutely love the video. But as a joke, if you watch it, she's leaning away as if she's afraid you're going to, you fill in the blank.... :-)
Great video! Thanks!
