Nash the slash kicks ass, that’s a good rhyme haha all great you showed. Glad you highlighted Joan Jett one of the few still alive monsters of rock, probably one if not the best live acts these days from an OG. Cheers even though you’re yet to be 21 😂 hopefully you’ll stick to coffee, pop and tea! Have a great weekend
You are showing the albums I bought in the 80s and 90s. Except for Girl Trouble - I think I have them all. I once dug a big hole with Peter Case. Nice guy. Can't remember how good-of-a-digger he was.
@@block-head2982 Our kids went to the same private school and a couple of times a year, we had work duty. We were digging a hole to plant a new tree for the school. I also did gardening with Vigo Mortensen and put up a sunscreen with Tim Allen. It was that typical and very weird L.A. lifestyle.
My sister obsessed over The Jags for a while and played Back of my Hand to death back in the day. I do quite like Billy Bragg although the cockney brogue gets irritating after a while..not familiar with Girl Trouble, will give them a listen. Secret Affair were anothet new wave/ pop band that were popular in the UK for a while. Dream Syndacate are quite interesting. Subbed back, Rob.
Right.. There are a ton of channels out there. I have seen your Billy Bragg a couple of times out there in the vast VC. Im lucky to have a copy from my local indie back in the tail end of the last century ! 😂 Killer channel. keep up the good work !
No problem, you have a great channel and good discerning taste. I have a lot of the bands that you show, although.. I'm into everything and some music, I'm sure that you don't like. Great needle drops as well.. Cool !
No I don’t I’ll keep a look out for that, I have live at club 88 that came with the reissue if fire of love and a French live comp that takes stuff from a few different shows. Do you have the birth the death the ghost? It’s a live album with a red cover, it’s when kid Congo joins again after leaving before they recorded the first album. Thanks for watching!
@@block-head2982 The Big Black song Jordan Minnesota is one of the most moving songs I’ve ever heard. The song is about a true story of a child abuse ring. The anguish in the vocals are so hard hitting emotionally. Kerosine is another song to check out.
I can think of two other bands that aren’t talked about or shown very much in the VC. Care to venture to guess who they are? 😉 Nash The Slash is one of my all time favorite blind buys ever. It was nothing I expected it to be but it was so much more and better! I will need to check out those two power pop records you and HyprVypr1 have shown in your recent videos. Have a good weekend
Good to see NASH THE SLASH. Also surprised to see SNAKEFINGER. I am not too much on their recordings but I know his work being in THE RESIDENTS, one of my favourite bands. Keep on the good work 👌
Snakefinger is great! Before he met up with the residents he was in a 70s pub rock band called chillie Willie and the red hot peppers. I saw the residents in Seattle last year, it was amazing. Thanks for watching!
Good idea for a thread etc... George 👍👍👍 SECRET AFFAIR are a Mod revival band and are still going strong in one form or another here in Britain. I have the GLORY BOYS LP and yes it's a different sleeve design. I think I'll be showing it in a Ben Rankings thread response video 🤔🤔🤔
Workers Playtime is probably my favourite Billy Bragg album - his last from the eighties, I think. Maybe that's one of the ones you don't like as much, which I could understand, but for me it's a strong collection of songs. Perhaps surprisingly, I think he's the only artist you showed who has had a UK number one single, albeit that it's one of the least well-remembered.
Workers playtime is great! I have it on CD. The ones I didn’t care for as much where William Bloke and Don’t Try This at Home, although I do really like accident waiting to happen. Thanks for watching!
Nash played the bar circuit here in Southern Ontario back in the day. I saw him headline in small venues. He was also in the prog band FM. I saw them too.@@block-head2982
Have held marshal Crenshaw record in my hand but never pulled the trigger...is he power pop or just rock? I use the cheap trick meter does it rock harder than cheap trick=power pop 😂😂😂.joan jett is the undisputed queen of rock n roll.girl trouble um you can keep those😂( no problem finding those used am I right?)thanks for the shout out.gonna look for secret affair never heard of or Nash the slash
Marshal Crenshaw is definitely power pop, it’s always a super cheap album, I’m sure you would dig it. I had a hell of a time finding the girl Trouble albums, there not expensive you just don’t see them. I would put them as one of my top 5 favorite bands, I think Iv seen them live about 5 times now, and there 40th anniversary show is in March
I never heard of Nash The Slash until I started watching vc videos.
Good stuff, real cheap too

Joan Jett is great, I think she’s touring right now so hopefully she comes to my neck of the woods. Thanks for watching dude!

Do you have the RSD Gun Club Live at the Hacienda 83? There is one on discogs for $12.88. It is a great live album. Avoid the 84 version.

@@block-head2982 Club 88 was a sweat box. I don’t think I have that one. I do have The Birth The Death The Ghost. The Hacienda 83 sounds better.
Have you heard Big Black’s version of The Model?
No I haven’t, I really need to pick up some of there stuff but I never even see reissues out in stores
@@block-head2982 Big Black is not for everybody. Steve Albini used metal guitar picks that produced a unique sound.
@@vinylrichie007wow I just listened to the big black version and am blown away. I liked it more than the Kraftwerk and snake finger version

I have no Billy Bragg. The Plimsouls were great. I did a flyer for them for a Al’s Bar show.
Oh wow that’s really cool, have you shown the flyer in a video? I was doing flyers for local shows for a while, it’s pretty fun
The Business for me. Suburban Rebels is a very catchy album.
