The energy, the moves, the style of the singer reminds me a lot of Meshell Ndegeocello
Saw them live at the North Sea Jazz The Hague. They made one fantastic album in ‘96 called ‘Pushing against the flow’.
Saw them in 1995 at a free outdoor gig in Leeds, one of the best tightest live bands i've seen been a fan ever since- would have a loved a second album though :(
