@@Deniska_UKR the thing is, the trilogy is called CARS not racing, so the movies be more than racing only, its just better to make it not grounded to racing
Theory: The og writers purposely made the movie horrible so DreamWorks cannot put forward any more Megamind projects and leave the stand-alone masterpiece alone.
If that was Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons’ plan all this time, I must say that I am impressed. They have Twitter|X accounts where you can state concerns about the non-canonical Megamind movie in a restrained manner.
here's how I would write the doom syndicate instead Megamind tried to join them at the start of his career but they just laughed him off, at some point they were put in jail and have only broken out now due to the news that Megamind "Killed" Metroman, so now they want him to be a part of the syndicate and are appaled when they learn he's become a hero
That's what we deserved but we get this atrocity instead. I guess we are not in the sacred timeline. We live in a timeline where if things are possible to go wrong, they will go wrong.
From what I read, it looks like the Doom Syndicate was originally in an earlier draft of the first Megamind, so I wonder if they just reused the old draft for the sequel rather than making a whole new story. That would explain why there's so many plotholes and contradictions in this one, including them introducing Megamind's mentor - which doesn't make sense since it was the prisoners who mentored him. This explanation would also work to explain why the original writers have their name on this product despite all these glaring storytelling errors. They only worked on the original draft, but they never had a hand in the sequel's creation.
For those who forget or never saw Shrek The Third: The movie starts off with cheap gags about Shrek acting as Regent while the king is ill. He botches the whole thing. The king dies. The movie then meanders with shrek on a boat for like 20 minutes. They meet "Future" king Arthur. He is a total nerd who wants to abandon his role as a king now. He totally sucks. Prince Charming somehow manages to convince the entirety of the "Outcast" Villains in the bar the king hired Puss in Boots from in Shrek 2 to attack Far Far Away. He doesn't kill anyone or do anything that may actually give him credit to the throne or anything really all that evil. (If you had to seize the throne in medieval Europe, good ol' Regicide was a REQUIREMENT). Shrek confronts Charming who makes a big musical play with the intent to kill Shrek (Yes really). Everyone comes to the rescue of Shrek. Charming is killed by being crushed by a castle prop. Arthur accepts his responsibility to become king. Oh and Merlin was there Yukking it up the whole movie. The End.
On one hand, I was disappointed that Will Ferrell wasn't going to reprise his role as Megamind but on the other hand, I am glad that he didn't come back because it would've ruined his image.
If I wrote this Megamind sequel: the film opens with a flashback. Megamind, at the peak of his villain career, wants to join the Doom Syndicate, who mock/reject him, calling him a loser. Minion jumps to Megamind's defense, and they walk away. Flash forward to present day, where the Doom Syndicate, unaware Megamind is now a hero, resurfaces in Metro City, wanting to recruit him for apparently killing Metro Man, claiming they "misjudged him". Megamind knows in his heart that it's wrong, but he now finds himself torn between his new, heroic identity and reverting to villainy now that these powerful people claim to respect. That and how it affects his relationships with Minion and Roxanne would be the driving conflict of the film. Nothing amazing, but I think it would be a MUCH better film than what we got. What do you think?
Megamind should have been a standalone movie that will live on as a masterpiece for many people to enjoy and love over the years. I feel so bad for the Megamind fans waiting years for a sequel or tv show only to be given a low effort movie and show that does not improve or expand the world of Megamind... But hey at least Megamind the button of doom was pretty great.
This movie feels like if the creator of Evangelion after the end of the original series came back after decades of not doing anything, not to make the Eva rebuild films mind you but instead went on to make the Alpha and Omega Trilogy.
I’m convinced this movie took the Velma route of “make something so horrifically awful the internet simply can’t ignore it”. There’s just no other explanation.
I would assume the lower rating is because more care about a bad Megamind movie than a bad Madame Web movie I’m a comic nerd who knew exactly who she was and I can also acknowledge she’s an absolutely terrible character to make a movie for bc no one knows who Madame Web is. here's how I would write the doom syndicate instead
Megamind tried to join them at the start of his career but they just laughed him off, at some point they were put in jail and have only broken out now due to the news that Megamind "Killed" Metroman, so now they want him to be a part of the syndicate and are appaled when they learn he's become a hero
That's what we deserved but we get this atrocity instead. I guess we are not in the sacred timeline. We live in a timeline where if things are possible to go wrong, they will go wrong.

How do you stop 4 villains at once again?
From what I read, it looks like the Doom Syndicate was originally in an earlier draft of the first Megamind, so I wonder if they just reused the old draft for the sequel rather than making a whole new story. That would explain why there's so many plotholes and contradictions in this one, including them introducing Megamind's mentor - which doesn't make sense since it was the prisoners who mentored him. This explanation would also work to explain why the original writers have their name on this product despite all these glaring storytelling errors. They only worked on the original draft, but they never had a hand in the sequel's creation.
This is the definition of pure laziness 💀
The End.
The title is actually pure facts
yo tommo
Oh my goodness, your idea for The Doom Syndicate, and how they should be part of Megamind universe, is perfect.
