Sweet Jesus that’s one scary beginning!,, @Scotch4Dummies. But always entertaining...But it’s a great buy I picked the 18 for$76 !! Great value!! And picked up the 12year and the Original!!
Great review, guys. I’m a fan of this whisky. I have yet to try the 18 but I’ll get to it soon! FYI... SMWS 135.10 “Express Yourself “ was my Whisky of the Year 2019. Cheers!
About a year and a half ago, I picked this one up for $49.99. Probably my best single malt deal I have ever found. Only time I ever bought a case of scotch! I was already into whiskey, but I did not know any thing about Loch Lomond at the time. This is one of the few that actually improves with a little water (for my taste anyway). Its not spectacular, but its good and its definitely great for the price point. Now I see the 12 year available for $29.99 in my area. I would like to do a 12 vs 18 comparison with this one.
Obviously if you live in the Indy area, this 18 yr old was selling for $49 at local Big Red Liquor's for the past year. I've had 3 bottles and have another 2 on reserve. I enjoyed it. Liked the 12 yr which was selling for $30 as well. It's got a little funk to it, and a nice way to get a little peat.
I posted before even finishing your review. Add water and the fruit flavors come up. I actually got some cherry??? Also, if the $75 price point helps your score, then your local price point will may get you chubby?
The Madeira wood finish is pretty good. I grabbed a bottle on the way back from Scotland and was surprised not knowing anything about it. The Glen Scotia I got for my father in-law was fantastic and I should have picked up two.
The 12 and the 18 are great drams. Amazing value for integrity style malts and its just old style American Oak.....I found the 18 for 85 aud works out to 55 us dollars.
The also use different yeasts for fermentation. Too bad their cask management wasn't very good for many years but I'm happy that this has changed recently! LL has a lot of potential
I think I have only ever had Loch Lomond once and was underwhelmed. I have had an SMWS 28 year-old Inchmurrin which was pretty decent. I definitely need to try the 18yo.
Great review! I’ve been considering this bottle for the last few months, but the $79.99 price tag stopped me dead in my tracks. What must be wrong with it? Thanks for reviewing it. I think I’ll give it a try. In fact I just popped open a bottle of the 12 year, which I picked up a few months ago for $28.99, and which had been gathering dust in my basement. It ain’t half bad! I’m getting loads of grape jelly on this with that whiff of smoke.
Had an Inchmurrin from Loch Lomond distillery……...trust me, I will NEVER touch or buy a bottle from Loch Lomond again!! I litteraly got sick from what they put in that bottle…...so, consistancy from Loch Lomond????……………..PLEASE!! ……...thumb is up though, not for Loch Lomond but for you guys….:-))
How long ago, John? The general consensus is that they have massively improved their output in the last couple of years. That said, I'm still somewhat underwhelmed personally. They need someone at the helm who can cultivate a distillery personality, maybe try to harness its idiosyncrasy into a positive force, a bit like Glen Scotia has (which of course is owned by Loch Lomond Group).
Good review and agree with you completely. Looks like drunk old Ralfy got pissed off and gave this a low 82. I think he was drunk as usual and that this deserves 88 minimum.

We call it “Loch Low-mond”, emphasis on the first syllable! 😀 Great review guys.
The 12 year is superb.... check it out guys!
Nice review! I have had this a couple times, and always enjoyed it. Definitely a GREAT value.
Hey Dummies! I just finished up my bottle of Loch Lomond 12. $30 and worth every deliscious penny! Can't wait to try the 18! Cheers!
Love your reviews guys! Take care!

Guys if you liked this one, go and buy Loch Lomond Organic 17...you'll love it

I’m new to your channel but will be back! Love the outtakes!! Hilarious.

Nice review guys, was a bit on the fence about making the purchase due to the low price for an 18 but will give it a try! 👌🥃
I appreciate Drew bringing the balance to the force.

Yes...yes you do!
The 12 is great too. The original is missing a lot once you’ve had the 12 and 18
There's nothing better for good results, than low expectations.
I'm not convinced though. I'm interested, but it's a try-before-you-buy for me.
Big fan of this one. Take two or three drams out of the bottle and let it sit for a while. Gathers depth, this malt.
If you pour me a glass, I'm gonna drink it!!
Captain Haddocks favorite whisky too

Do you guys have any idea why some people refer to this as a sub for Springbank?
I got to get some of this stuff.
I recommend to review a Macallan 18 Sherry oak from the 90's - that is suppose to be the best 18 yr of all time. :P
two words for you - barbershop quartet

The “smoothed to perfection” statement on the label lit him off
82 is correct. This is a weak overproduced 18. So many better options in this price range.

Who researched this? You are pronouncing the name wrong. Look up Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond. Please. Think Lock Lomen? Thats how you say it.
Just watching your Loch Lomond 18 review for first time
You should learn how the brand name is pronounced before previewing.
Nahhhg...we've butchered so many over the years. We'll never lose the "Dummy". LOL
