Informative show and judging by the views its a pain point potential home owners experience. Planning out the design, financing and construction is important but how does one go about it? Most are skeptical in using consultants (registered architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, constructors) but in the grand scheme of things they do save you time and money in turning your dream into reality.

You know I listened to all the "experts" here about how this guy can get out of this situation and I noticed noone mentioned the biggest resource of all : YOURSELF.!! how about knocking some the work off yourself??? Africans have desist from always looking for solutions everywhere but to themselves. Single family housng in subshararan africa is pretty basic . Theres alot of youtube videos that can teach you how to do some if not all the work. with all the predatory lending in this place I'd advise this guy to look into that. and remember most of the people who build these houses have no formal training. they are mostly self taught.

Exactly, like flooring, drywall plastering, painting, ceiling framing, he could hire daily labor and supervise one room at a time. Big lesson he/& others have learnt here.

I’m in exactly similar situation but I started in 2015. I couldn’t find money to complete my 3 bedroom house in Utawala ~0.5m. I feel it’s a journey tho since I’m still looking for money and I could possibly sell and start over with a much better knowledge of this project.
