Oh my god I get hives every time I need to figure out what stablizer I need to use on a certain fabric! Thanks so much for the help . You should make a list for us to print out for a reference I would love you forever!! lolol
Thanks for the kind words Kate! :) That's a great idea! Be sure to check out or Stabilizer Guide Blog in the meanwhile www.digitizingmadeeasy.com/machine-embroidery-stabilizer-guide/
@Amber Beshers, you took the words right out of my mouth. Straight to the point video, just wish I would’ve seen this video first as I could have saved a ton of time not watching others. Definitely will invest in his videos and membership he offers. Thank you for taking the time to create these informative tutorials?
wow!! This video is priceless. I have been afraid to use my machine but I feel a lot better now learning about the different stabilizers and the WHY and HOW to use them all. Thank you!
Oops.. I forgot to mention I did watch your video on stabilizers. Your video is great. Also I’m so overwhelmed with all I need to know about embroidery and the conflicting information I’ve received from others, that I would greatly appreciate it if you would not mind answering my question. I had no idea that different stabilizers had different weights. I appreciate your time. Thank you.
I just love your videos, and teaching/coaching style! Please keep up the great work, so many of us gain confidence and get more enjoyment from our machines because of your videos!❤️
Thank you John for so much clear and helpful facts about stabilisers. I now to purchase some strawberry, vanilla and chocolate 'No Show Mesh', (I am nearly out of my only white one!). I really wish I had known about all the different types of stabilisers before now - but I know now! Again thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you so much for beginner series o was feeling overwhelmed with so much I didn’t know. Can you in the future make a full video how how to digitize from scratch for beginners
Hello :) We do have interactive lessons available that teach you how to digitize from scratch! :) Here's a link www.digitizingmadeeasy.com/e-classroom/digitizing/
I read one of your articles that stated to cut the cut away but leave the fabric prep. Are you referring to something like SF101 that is fused to cotton prior to embroidery? TIA
I feel stupid for even asking this but for any project do you need to make sure the hoop is filled with stablizer or can you for example when embroidering on ONE small spot on a bag just use sticky stablizer where the design is being stiched out? thanks!
Great information!!!! So glad I found you!!! Can you please tell me the brand of wet and gone plus the heat and gone stabilizer you use? I would really appreciate it! Thank u
I'm a little confused. Are these stabilizers for the top or the bottom? Or both? As I saw usually there is a stabilizer on top which is transparent, and another on the bottom. I HAVE to use a stabilizer on top so the fabric won't distort, but currently I'm just using a transparent folder for testing (which is made for holding papers), because I don't know the exact name for such a top stabilizer.
So ... tear away wash away stabilizer ... where to get it? What brand? I have cut away wash away but not tear away wash away. Does anyone here have a recommendation?
Brilliant video and thank you!! Any tips on what we can use for the inside of the jacket cover up? Could we use another sheet of the iron on to cover the threads?
Thanks for watching! There are what’s called "fusible interfacings" available that can cover the back of embroidery, generally they are used on infant wear so the back of the embroidery does not irritate the babies skin. :)
Hello, John. This video is very important for me, but I don't speak english very well, and can't translate it without subtitels. Please turn on subtitels for this video. Thank you very mach.
Janet McKinney I’ve tried the aftermarket DIME magnetic hoop and love it. Don’t have the newest one that comes with the latest model Brothers. I’m confident they’ll be great as well.
@@EmbroideryLegacy thank you so much .Q-in your video in talking about no show mesh .I ordered a roll of it I am embroidering a baby blanket .I ordered the non fusible by mistake can I use spray to hold it down?
Off topic question---visited your website, under Embroidery, there was a category called " Fringe " designs that you could purchase, do they work on multi-needle machines?
Hi, i was told that unbleached quilting muslin and no show mesh lightweight are good to use together when embroidering. Is this true? If not can you please tell me what fabric (and weight) should be used with what type of stabilizer (and weight) to eliminate puckering?
No-show mesh is one of my favorite stabilizers and I’m assuming it would aid to eliminate puckering. I would test it a see if your are satisfied with the results, so many options. Lately I’ve been playing with fusible interfacing and have been happy with the results, always learning and playing.
Be sure you're hooping the material correctly here's a video ruclips.net/video/0F6-grF1dVk/видео.html , you could also try a thicker stabilizer if that doesn't work :)
I am a retired apparel multipurpose retail store co-owner, and still have a 15 needle commercial machine in my home that we used in our store. Listen to John, visit some shops, do your homework, and also, try to get to an ISS show if possible when one comes to a city near you. It is great to see trends, machines working, DTS printers etc...the works. It's not easy, but can be a rewarding biz.Good luck.
I love the fact you just come and say that they are made by the same companies. Love the transparency.
This is pure gold stabilizer info, Thank you so much! This just made my buying decisions so much easier.
Great learning tips.
Very informative, thank you. The Terry cloth comment made me smile. Happy wife happy life
Best embroidery supplies video out there!

Fantastic advice as always. But it's the little things that get me sometimes: keep the instructions inside the roll! Why didn't I think of that?
I use Hatch :) Be sure to check it out here! www.digitizingmadeeasy.com/digitizing-made-easy-challenge/

@@EmbroideryLegacy Thank you and would you recommend cut away or tear away stabilizer?
With no show mesh: does it need to be hooped end to end the size of the hoop or can you cut a piece just to fit your design? I wonder.
I usually fit it to my hoop :) But it all depends on if you're doing ITH projects etc
I forgot to ask, what is a topper and when should it be used? Thank you.
I want by a embroidery Machine for professional work, give me a advice
