My Wife and I just got back from our week long road trip from South Cali to northern Alabama using my weekend warrior tacoma. Talk about rough. Without going into details. Let's just say we ended staying in hotels majority of the nights. Lol. Great video man.
@@ggg4runner first night was at Zion national forest. Want too too bad. 22 degrees. Second night was at Grand Canyon south rim. Checked into hotel bc it was in single digits. Also my wife is more into glamping. My little roof top tent wasn't cutting it for her.
On point...LoL Love this!! I'm a new youtube jeep guy (jeepNdirt) and I just completed a fall trip and themed it "No Camping Overlanding". My wife shares many of these same issues, but on a more serious note I have a condition I'm dealing with (gastric induced Afib episodes Roemheld syndrome) that prevents me from camping sometimes as well so in order to keep enjoying the trails and overland experience we sometimes just Hotel it or Air B&B. Adds to the trip cost, but at least we can still break away into the woods. Additionally, routes like the BDR's help with this type of travel as well. Great video and great channel.
Me and my lady's camping trips will continue to be limited to 1 day & 1 night until I find a hot shower unit. If I beat ya to it, I'll let you know lol.
Great videos, just subscribed. Could you talk about places you can go overlanding and the logistical steps needed to get there? Do I just pick a spot to take my truck off the road and just drive until I’m ready to stop and camp, or what?
Have you checked this video? I think that one will answer some of those questions ruclips.net/video/IBhZHAc-KK4/видео.html Thanks for watching and let me know if that vid is still missing something you want to know more about.
Under the truck! Kidding of course. I deleted the rear seats, turned it into storage and put a big dog pad on top. It's just enough space for our Giant and Mini Schnauzer to get cozy. ruclips.net/user/shortsqm_KHct4pl8 That doesn't show the pad but you get the idea.
@@ggg4runner this is awesome, thank you! I just recently got a 5th gen 4runner, have been planning out some trips to take my golden with me. Definitely will try out what you've done.
Yeah, the only thing bad about my setup is that it's so tall. For now, Maya (the Giant), can hop in and out but as she ages I'm gonna need some kind of collapsible ramp. I know there are several dog ramps on the market but they're all really bulky and space is a premium as you know.
We come from a backpacking background. Now in our 70's that's a no go so we recently purchased a pop up truck camper so we can do some overlanding. Creature comforts have become imperative but at least we can get a little further out.
Been a fan for some months now. Got my wife to watch and she laughed out loud. She loved your style of presentation. My situation is a little better with an InTech Pursue camping tarilor with 12''s of memory foam queen size mattress and 12000 BTU's of AC !
Showers: plastic drink bottle of about 2 litre. Use a pen knife to punch holes in the lid. Fill with water of temperature that is to your liking and hold over your head.

@@ggg4runner good advice. Just got a used GX460. I’m gonna go subtle.
Giant Schnauzer? I knew you were my kind of guy! Love those dogs!!! Not in a woke sense! Awesome videos!!
"Not in a woke sense!" 😂
one time I went overlanding
That’s sounds like a story that should be reserved for around the campfire. And, leave the musical instruments at home.
@@ggg4runner that was the story. Great content by the way.

where do your dogs sleep when you go overlanding? do they get up in the rooftop tent with you, or sleep somewhere else?
