In this country guitar lesson, you’ll learn how to play six intermediate country guitar riffs in drop D. We’ll also have three easier drop D riffs for the newer country pickers. I’ll play the drop D licks with tablature and give you a full breakdown along with some helpful music theory tips. After you learn the licks, practice along with our jam track and also test them out over “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde” by Travis Tritt.

Awesome picking
Never really gave country a chance, listened to this after someone suggested I write a country song. I really like this! I need to give this kinda music a try, cool riffs. Also really easy to follow how to play, thanks!
Drop D Country is the stuff that makes the world go round... or just makes killing time. Either or. Great lesson!
Keep doing great, brother
This sounds so bad ass at that speed at the beginning but difficult to do, especially the second and third. It’s hard to nail those triplets at that speed. Thanks for the content brother
Excellent, merci👍
This is a great lesson. In counting, triplets are generally counted as “e-and-uh” ex. 1 e-and-uh. It rolls off the tongue, a little easier, and in a formal setting you’re less likely to get people looking at you crazy, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with counting the way we hear it in this video. It is actually a good approach if you are just learning to count music.
Cool song in drop D - man in constant sorrow...))
Amazing , thank you so much. It really gave my playing an upgrade.
Plain badass this drop D stuff!
Best riffs , even tho I’m a lover of all music , guitar sounds so good playing blue grass and country

Love it partner, shoutout from Texas
I've been doing double d tuning for years now. totally love it. can't go back to normal tuning lol
What do you mean by double drop key
Can you make play along country songs? Quick lesson then the whole song. That would be awesome!

Очень доходчего учишь, все понятно, хоть и не знаю английского языка. Спасибо большое за урок. С уважением из России.
Very catchy riff. How about showing us how to 'drop D' tune the guitar as a beginner? Thank you keep up the good work 😉
Tune bottom string to d. Barely tune it down til it rings like the D (fourth string). Everything else is standard tuning. Just RUclips it man
Thank you for this one! Wow. Great lil vid, here. Thought I'd nail these right away... whoops... back to the woodshed. I'm excited, humbled and frustrated with my current guitar competency.
Awesome, glad you like the riffs!
Thanks for the lesson, do you think you could do a Jimmie Rodgers style lesson I always wanted to know how he plays his typical rhythm in the blue yodels
Hey Rodney! Yeah, that might be a cool lesson. I'll add it to the list

Hi, I play Travis style, blues, slide, rock, ect. Am a newbie to flat picking. Are you dropping just the low E to D or is this double drop D? Great lessons, particularly love these riffs. Thanks, Doug
I’m gonna play this on my 8 string guitar tuned double drop d 8 string tuning 😂
Country jamaican voice : bomboclaat🐴
How is the guitar tuned for drop-D tuning? Fairly new guitar player and don’t know how to tune it.
I want like your hat, i like it!! how can i get it???Im from Spain :(
Watch Tyler Childers play dropD wow
Yeah I love his style in drop D. Really awesome stuff
I never thought a heavy metal tuning would fit country
Embryonic Journey, Man of Constant Sorrow, a couple Terry Reid songs, quite a few neil young(or dadgad), copperhead road, hard sun are all drop-d - - - and i think a few Fairport Convention cuts (not all country but they use the dropped 6th string as a drone note)
Welcome to our world ! 🤘🏻 A lot of bluegrass and country fans are Also "metalheads" 😉 go check Billy Strings , you're welcome
