You can easily make a slotted bracket with padding that goes at the beginning of truck bed on the cab side to lock the nose of the kayak in place. Then you won’t need the two straps in the bed. And you can easy travel places with one strap. It makes kayak life way easier. I smash all over the Bay Area like that and never had one single issue.
What happened to the Tesla. I almost bought the roof rack and mounts to rock the kayak on top. Now you have switched to a pickup. What was your reasoning? And what was you wh/mile with the kayak on top?
I still have it but it was a bit of a hassle. I just didn’t want to risk damage and getting it all dirty. Now I’ve got a pickup solely for kayak fishing.
I did a similar thing with PVC, but your idea is much better due to you being able to potentially fitting two kayaks. Nice!
Thanks Mike! Give it shot!
Camera kid did a great job
She said thanks! 😆

I know the way I’m strapping is kind of overkill. 😆

You must have a motor on your Kayak. The numbers are required if you have a motor.
Yes, I have a 2.5hp motor
