    Hey, Jon. Thanks for the vid. The reason the 5 iron is so different is the estimated spin into the net was far higher than the actual spin it measured at the range. Using the Titleist RCT balls or balls with the supplied metallic dots applied when using the net will increase the accuracy of the spin measurements and the overall accuracy. Cheers!

      Thanks for that! I'm definitely keen to try those RCT balls - don't seem easy to find though. I've since been using the metallic dots more in practice - my latest video was with the metallic dots. Appreciate the help.

      @@JonPerkinsGolf The RCT balls are not yet confirmed working as intended by Flightscope. (Developed for Trackman) so save your money until Flightscope confirms.

      I've heard good things about it. I've found the flightscope a really useful addition. Thanks for the follow and comments as well.

    Can you share the distance setup you hit into the net? The unit to the ball and the ball to the net? Thanks

    Carry & speed look good, but spin rates are massively out of sync though...

    just a quick tip: When you set up your flightscope at home, don't put it on a box. Set it on the grass and adjust tee-height to get proper readings.

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад

      Great - love a good tip, thanks! What sort of difference do you expect to see?

    • @BeAtch-il3yy
      @BeAtch-il3yy 2 года назад

      @@JonPerkinsGolf No idea what the exact difference is. I've heard a Flightscope employee mention this on one of their livestreams. You essentially want a level surface between your memo and the hitting mat. A "valley" could cause issues with the readings.

    Hi, I've had mine also for a few weeks now, and loving it! Only criticism I have thus far is the very poor battery life! Just glad I've got a set-up at home, so can always connect to a mains if required! Those who only go to a range may not get on with this device all the time..

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад

      You got one - that's great. Would you say you get around 2-3 hours out of it? I've not run it to dead but am in the habit of charging after each session.

      I'd say 2 hours, yes, but I do have about 90 seconds before the device goes into Sleeping mode, so this has an effect I believe!
      Reference what video to do next, how about FS Skills? Haven't tried it yet myself lol..

      A back up battery power supply is a must if you plan to use it on the range in my opinion.

    Are you setting it indoor w/13’ minimum distance? Have you use the metallic stickers while in the net at your backyard? Just curious if it gives you better ball spin. I just have my Mevo + last week and still playing around with the settings. Thanks for the video.

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. I just use it outdoors but have found in the net you need to tell it you're on a short indoors setting, then at the range you can say it's outdoors and unrestricted ball flight. I find the dots a bit fiddly but they do help. Enjoy!

    Great review…I’m guessing you were using better balls at home and range balls at the range? That would explain the better ball speed and distance overall…

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад

      Thanks Pete! Yes, much better (newer) balls at home vs the ones given out at the range.

    Are you using a metallic dot on your ball at home? Your spin numbers seem to be way down when you hit into the net. I agree with the other person who said you need to keep your unit as close to level with your hitting mat as possible, that might clean up your spin a bit too.

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад +2

      Hey Tom, no I wasn't using the dots but will start. Getting to grips with it now, so hopefully will able able to see some interesting differences by getting better in the areas you mentioned. Thanks and thanks for following along.

      Over time that netting will break down from all the ball strikes. Hanging a small sheet or target sheet onto the net would help and make your hitting net last so much longer. Just a thought.
