I learned some things I hadn't really taken note of before...like the "pinch, pull, pin" idea with the straps, and the button-up bottom box (yah, I know...alliteration all around LOL). I usually make bags for gifts instead of using wrapping paper, which just gets thrown away. I think these are my favorites so far, other than the lined ones I make for grocery shopping.
I hope you get a giggle out of this but while I was watching and enjoying you making these bags it dawned on me” SOME OF HER PINS ARE BENT” !! Now I won’t feel so bad when I start back sewing …..you’re a human like me !!❤️❤️❤️🥰. I absolutely love these bags- I hope one day to make one !!❤
I had a gift for a friend and didn’t have a gift bag - but I did I made your tote magic bag. So I gifted the bag with the gift. Very happy recipient. Thank you
Not sure how old your grandson is but if he's really interested in doing sports with the dog, they usually have lots of scholarships for junior handlers. Check out Susan Garrett who just had 2 people join in the agility instruction who both started winning in agility in their teens - hope that helps. I'm doing Rodeo Dog (just barrels and tunnels) at the moment with my one dog - bit easier on the joints and my memory. Hope that helps.
I never thought of using the burrito method for a bag. I will definitely try this. I box my corners in a similar way, but I never cut the points off until after I have sewn the seam across..just a personal preference. Great job Tracy!
❤😊 Hello Tracy, this again is AWESOME!! Literally I am getting back into sewing Ur details, I hear people say; I'm repeating myself, what they don't know is all there repeating is giving Me a chance to get it... Understand, listen, LITERALLY!!! We all learn at a different pace, Ur Experiences Ur Wisdom, Ur Great Tricks, and Ur Ease into it, AWESOME!!! And I just Lov, Enjoying Ur "Enough Already Let's Get Into" Enjoying Totally!! And Thank U for giving Me Courage to get back into sewing!! One thing I didn't know is how much wow the machines hv gone up, Uffta!! From Minnesota Keep Rocking Life Beautifully ❤😊
Adding if you want to press outside edge seams with a nice edge first press the seam flat, then fold and press. Just roll the bag or whatever back a bit to press flat. Not sure where I learned that but I too kept doing that little rolly rolly thing with fingers to try to get the seam pulled al the way out to edge.
*JAW DROPPED* WHAT??!!! WHAT???!! OHMYGAWWD!! AMAZING!! Okay! i was wondering what she was doing! lol!! okay! i am flabbergasted!! it is like MAGIC!!! WOW!! GAME CHANGER!!!!! But, it just comes to show, there are many ways to create a tote bag. there is no one way to do it. you just have to try them all! I LOVE IT!! BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!
Thank you so much, I really really enjoyed watching you create these tote 👜 bags. My favourite was the first one that had the structural box corners. Great video. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Great video. With this method, you now know how to make the “magic/hot dog/burrito” pillowcase. Thank you for sharing. Great for Halloween bags for the kids too.
Great idea! I just bought some Halloween fabric too! I think I'll make a few of these for my neighborhood kids and hand them out with treats! Thanks Carol for the idea and thank you Tracy for the tutorial !
So very cute! Love your clear, detailed instructions 👌. These totes are much easier than the ones I made for my granddaughters. I will be sure to make these next time. Thank you so much!!!🙂
*_Hi Peggy...I just noticed you gave me a "super thanks".....WOW- I didn't see it until I went into my analytics of my channel. Thank you so much...I appreciate it❤️_*
Hi Tracy, your tutorial is awesome! When you sew the straps down, do you change out your sewing machine needle or do you use the same one for whole bag?
Very well done and instructed...clear and concise! Q: Could one use the heavier cotton canvas fabric, to construct these bags for more durability/carrying heavier items? Or would the fabric be too thick for the burrito rollup method/not being able to inside out the burrito?
Good information, but I was getting impatient, wishing it moved along more quickly and didn't repeat so much, and if you find yourself getting impatient, speed it up to 1.25 and it's WONDERFUL
I guess I am the first to watch this video because it says no views, yet. thank you for the tutorial I am going to make some of these bags. I love being first
Great tutorial - thank you. I like your little stuck on handles on your rulers - can you tell me the name of them please? Thanks :) Edit: I just watched your 5 tool video and found the info I needed - thanks :)
Hello -If you can help. I Metal Detect and I carry my scoop, garden knife and other hand tools, besides pockets inside, my finds . In the long cross-over the shoulder (name brand) bag. Now from my knife going in and out during my adventutes. Starting to weaken the threads at the bottom. I want to make my own, with a stronger bottom and inside pockets and cross over the shoulder straps .. have you or will you demonstrate such a bag ! ? Thank you!!!
Oh wow. That’s a task indeed. Sounds like a good design. You could always take the bag you have already and unpick and make a pattern of it? That’s probably your best way. ✅
*_OH MY WORD Katie!!!! Thank you so much for letting me know about the "glitch" ! I double/triple/quadruple check all my videos before uploading and then re-check once they are uploaded!!!! I fixed the creepy audio...should take effect within a day...! Again...thank you so much💛_*
*_A French seam encloses the seam allowance on the inside of a sewn item, so no raw edge is visible. This eliminates the need for another form of seam finish. ✅_*
I have never heard anyone explain and demonstrate straight of grain and selvage so perfectly! I’m making a tote bag!
Iiij no

Getting ready to make my daughter a bag for a gift I got her. Knew exactly who to go to for a refresher. Thanks Tracy, love your tutorials.
Wonderful! Have fun Ann❤️

What a great teacher!!! Clear and concise, and very pleasant!!🪡♥✂🛍
I had a gift for a friend and didn’t have a gift bag - but I did I made your tote magic bag. So I gifted the bag with the gift. Very happy recipient. Thank you
What an awesome friend you are💛 these bags are so quick to whip up too!!!✅
My grandson just got a puppy - this will be great for him in a dog print to carry treats, leash and toys wherever they go! Fabulous!
What a great idea Patricia!✅💛🤓

I love the technique…you are a genius. Thank you for clear instructions and good camera work

Awesome!!!
Glad to see you use bent pins like I do! They still work!
They do still work lol🤣
Love your, great teacher , with clever hands
Wow! The burrito method! Thanks.
I would put a little snip for the straps. I learned this from working at a garment factory (made dresses).
Love the way you explain everything .Thank you .
You are so welcome!
💯💯💯💯💯 This has got to be the easiest bag I have ever made

Really cute tote bags. It looks more complicated than it is. Thanks again
*_You're welcome Donna🤓they are so simple for sure✅_*
Love your tutorials!
thanks Tracy
Thanks for sharing your videos. 😊
*_You're Welcome Pam 😊_*
Adorable! Reminds me of how I make my pillowcases. Thanks for sharing! Once again you gave a winner!
Yes- just like the magic pillow case!✅ thanks for the kind feedback Donna💛
I was thinking the same thing about the pillowcases!
To place the straps, measure 2" from each side of the creases and put the inside edge of the strap there. That way, there's no guessing.
Just made this today. Turned out fabulous. Fun project. 😁
*_That's wonderful ABuller2! The easiest bag EVER!!!✅_*
Absolutely love this!!! ❤️
Love it! Very cute! Clear instructions 🤗
Thank you so much for watching Kay!💛🤓
Great video. With this method, you now know how to make the “magic/hot dog/burrito” pillowcase. Thank you for sharing. Great for Halloween bags for the kids too.
*_Oh yes Carol! Thanks for the idea of Halloween Bags!!!_*

I have enjoyed your shows! You are delightful! I have just just subscribed.
Thank you so much! Welcome to The Sewing Channel💛
Fantastic instructional video !! Thank you beginner here 🤗
*_Glad it was helpful!✅_*
Love the tutorial.. step by step… one question … fat quarters are often thin.. lining? Canvas? What do you suggest?
You can try canvas or duck cloth✅
Great tutorial! My only questions is what would you recommend for fabric and strap dimensions to make a larger bag that could be used for groceries?
*_Jodi- I would measure a bag that I wanted to copy(one you might have on hand) so that way you get exactly what you like.✅_*
You could also purchase/use soft fabric strapping... a bit more costly, but is softer on the hands, when using as a grocery bag...
Great tutorial. Thank you! I like your small ironing board. Did you make it? If yes, did you do a tutorial on it?
Yes❣️ Here's the link to that tutorial ruclips.net/video/tiJL2piQl84/видео.html
It would be great if you could show how to line the bag
Just double layer the bottom piece, Wong sides together and make the bag the same way.
I love this video and the bag.i want to make some for my daughter's and grandchildren. But I don't know what a French seam is? 😢 And what is a scant?
I show you how to make a french seam in this video ➡️ ruclips.net/video/I3bNdtLg0Fo/видео.html ✅
When you make bag bigger do we just keep the top pic the same as the width. Or do we make the top pic bigger
Make both the same amount bigger...✅
Thanks!
Same for whole bag✅
I now know what to do with all of these fat quarters.
Very well done and instructed...clear and concise! Q: Could one use the heavier cotton canvas fabric, to construct these bags for more durability/carrying heavier items? Or would the fabric be too thick for the burrito rollup method/not being able to inside out the burrito?
*_Thanks DH. Yes you can totally use canvas✅_*
Very cute tote bags! Thank you for posting!
*_you're welcome Brenda!!!✅_*
Shirley Swaringen from Louisiana
I want something slightly larger bag, do you have a pattern for that?
I have lots of different bag tutorials on my channel with different sizes✅
Good information, but I was getting impatient, wishing it moved along more quickly and didn't repeat so much, and if you find yourself getting impatient, speed it up to 1.25 and it's WONDERFUL
😅how you make your ironing pad?
I enjoyed your video for these cute bags. But please throw out the bent blue pin ! It was driving me cra cra 😅

How did you make your egg shape small/medium ironing mat?
Do you have a tutorial??
Here's the video tutorial on it✅➡️ ruclips.net/video/tiJL2piQl84/видео.html
Rolling the tote just like making pillow case
Yes!✅
Is there a way to make these bags and have a lining?
*_Sure Lisa. Connect two pieces together as if one(connect lining and outer fabric wrong sides together)...and continue as I show in video✅_*
@@TheSewingChannel Thank you! Awesome video!

How about using magic clips will save your pins from being bent
I love this tutorial! You’re a great teacher. Can u tell me where to buy the straps and exactly what names they are? I’m clueless 😂
*_Hi Peggy....here is a link to the strap material _**_amzn.to/3ytJ89F_*
Only when you have hard to pin areas
If you baste your straps before you start rolling it will be easier to keep the straps where they belong
*_Great Tip Barbara!✅ Thank you!_*
Did you make the oval shaped ironing board that you are using? Instructions?
Yes🤓check my channel. There is a tutorial on it✅
Salvage edge = The stretchy way.
How much would these sell for?
Not sure🤷🏻♀️
