This is my favorite runescape series! Thank you for giving so much love to this skill. Some people are so keen to hate things...
I don't like the skill, but I love this series. I think sailing is too bloated and really disrespects play time and max cape. But he is doing an amazing job with it and I love watching.
I could see too bloated, though all the “just a minigame” people kinda forced their hand.
But disrespects time, what? (it has very solid afk and active training options) And how is it bad for skill maxing? If you like skilling so much that you maxed and ran out of 99s, surely you’d be happy to eventually get a new one?
@davidlovesyeshua Not at all. It's not about "running out of 99s". This demonstrates a total lack of understanding of the skilling mindset. It's about completionism. If you arbitrarily add a new multi-hundred hour grind, it DEVALUES the time you already spent earning your way toward the goal of maxxing. Sailing adds hundreds of hours to the max cape grind, and delays the dream of maxxing by one or more years for a lot of people who don't have much time to play. It treats the max cape like the quest cape. Now, skills are just a funny little novelty that can be added to the game. The max cape is disrespected, and the total level goalpost is moved.
Sailing, as an activity, forces you to isolate yourself from ALL other activities. It specifically prohibits teleports, which are one of the best parts of the game. Boat recovery is stupid and annoying. Boat TRAVEL is stupid and annoying. Get onto a slow vessel, and engage in slow travel to places to complete various arbitrary tasks that all give HORRIBLE xp. Except for bagility (trials), which is whatever. The xp is horrible, it introduced a bunch of ridiculously long, stupid collection log grinds, and sets a new precedent that any time they need a cash infusion, they can fuck the OGs and disable their max capes for the novelty of a "NeW sKiLl!!" like summoning or whatever rs3 meme they want to bring in next. The game is cooked. People should have listened to the OGs about sailing.

Really enjoying this season. Appreciate the regular uploads and the "bite sized" progress updates. You're still making more progress in a week than I would in a month, but it's easier to appreciate when an episode isn't 100+ hours condensed to 22 minutes

Hey Settled, did you know that instead of waiting 16 hours and hoping your tree doesn't get diseased, you can check it every few hours and if it's diseased you can use secateurs to cure it of the disease? If you're doing farm runs every few hours, you might as well incorporate that so that you don't have to worry!
how would he even get one? the only thing i can find is the farming shop on great conch which needs a quest requiring 51 slayer
