Hello, I just bought 2 fadal 4020 (1991 & 1995), I am new to this but they told me that they were very good machines, I would like to know your opinion and know if there is any recommendation to take care of them.

I think that if you follow this series, you should have a pretty good understanding of what they look on the inside and what parts you should look at for wear. Read the comments, sometimes, they can be a great source of information from other Fadal users watching these videos. I would also suggest that you subscribe to At-Man Unlimited's channel ruclips.net/channel/UCaNLw3Sb2id1Y1G4Ebze6gQ channel.
Best of luck with your new toys!!! :P

I use the following chart for a reference of torques of varying size fastners...in your case 23 lb/ft ...www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/bolts/US-Recommended-Torque.aspx Good to see it starting to be reassembled..your series has me thinking about a Mazak #18 CNC turning center transformation like yours...Thanks!!!

Thanks! It varies a lot from one chart to an other! Wonder why that is? CNC modernizing is great fun if you can have a good deal on a machine and plenty of time. To really enjoy it, I think you have to be in a situation where you have no deadline or heavy payements. I was lucky I had this deal and that I can have it in my basement.
