(Even if I don't have the Premium but standard version) I only fly the GA C310R payware addon that has Wear & Tear ... if I had the C172 Skyhawk in my hangar I would go for the enhancement without any hesitation after watching this video!!! Hope you will provide the same for the JF PA-28!!! ;-)

    Great Video! I really enjoyed your commentary and very easy to listen to and learn from. I have noticed that spark plug fouling seems to happen really quickly. I have taxied from parking and performed mag checks with full rich and just in that time it fouled the plugs. In my real world experience in a C-172 I don't remember spark plug fouling happening that quickly. But then again it's been 2 years since I've flown so maybe I'm wrong.

      Hi Kelly, thanks for your comments. I do know there is a new update I was just testing and it no longer has fouling on the menu of the ADF. Apparently, too many people were watching that screen a lot. Fouling still happens, but just a loss of performance as in real life. I hope the new update addresses your concerns about how quickly it happens. The developers are watching comments on this channel closely. Thank you.

    I was going over the Cessna 172S Checklist, and noticed in the BEFORE STARTING ENGINE section there is no entry to turn on the Beacon Light. The entry is actually (11.Navigation Lights and Flashing Beacon - ON as required), after the engine is started. I have always been taught to turn on the Beacon before Engine start to notify everyone that startup will be taking place.

    Hands down the best sim channel for MSFS in regards to realism/study level flying. Just using Xplane, but this new airplane would make me consider doing the transition to MSFS, BUT: How is the aircraft performance for stalls, spins, level flight, Vx/Vy ... and all the other important metrics? Similar to POH and real flying (was flying a C42 long ago)? Let me know and thnx for this new channel!!!

    • @ForderLearnToFly

      Hi Florian. Thanks for your comment. I have over 2,000 online students learning to fly with a simulator in all versions. Many of them have been waiting for Microsoft to make MSFS flight dynamics and cockpit realism similar to the sim they are flying. That is happening now with this enhancement. Apart from all the avionics, electrics and device updates I show here, there are flight dynamics updates too that won't fully be evident until update 10 comes out in a week from now. (this is August 27th). Stalls work as they should, spins behave as a 172 should and this enhancement gives us "study-level" and that is an endorsement by many of my students. They have to go to the POH to figure things out. The developers used the POH to make the mod. Each real manual for each electronic device was used to make this mod. This is study level and real flight students are loving it.

      That's not very nice. Not true and what would such a comment accomplish. Look at all that is good in this product and how it has improved the plane ten-fold. Or just leave it alone and move on. I am going to trust that this was some comment in jest and not your real thoughts. I fly real 172s since the 90s and I endorse this plane mod. Period. I hope I have presented it well in this space for others to discover.

    • @tripodcatz5532
      @tripodcatz5532 2 года назад +1

      @@ForderLearnToFly Dude, you're not 'presenting' a darn thing - this is basically just an advertisement video for Justflight (you even specifically included a link to purchase the product). May we assume Justflight paid you to make this for them? Or perhaps gave you free software in return for an endorsement video? And the engine start sequence with this product is completely unrealistic - the priming routine is fake because the engine cannot be started with the mixture in cutoff position like the real 172. The developer has made it so the engine starts in the 1/4 mixture position and pretends that priming the engine actually works. Stupid.
      I would counsel everyone to wait until A2A Simulations releases their Comanche 250 for MSFS2020 soon as it will correctly model all instrumentation and engine behavior to an even higher degree of fidelity. Also, A2A won't require that MSFS2020 Premium versions be used with their product as Justflight is requiring for use with the mod being advertised in this video (this tactic alone is very shady).
      Have a nice day, but please just be HONEST about your intentions.

      @@tripodcatz5532 Sorry for your discontent and what you believe. We can leave it at that. No, Justflight didn't pay me and either did anyone else. I said honestly what my intentions where and I endorse this product because it is what my online flying students needed to move over to MSFS: a realistic 172 that works as the manuals say. No need to debate this any further. I am not here to prove anything and I have been completely honest. I also rewrote their manual for them for free, as my contribution to their project. You don't have to use it. I hope you find peace.

    • @ForderLearnToFly
      @ForderLearnToFly  Год назад

      Hi Chris and thanks for your feedback. This is a very good question that many have asked me for 30 years of real and simulated flying. I did exactly that. Every lesson in a real plane resulted in me going home and doing the same lesson in the simulator. As long as you are practicing the right things. Don't just do all the flying in the sim first and then take lessons. Do them together and only practice what you learned that day in a real plane. Then you will accelerate. Of the 18 fellow ground school students that started when I did, I got my PPL in 1/2 the time that they did and a lot less cost. You still have to do the 40 (or 45) hours of ground school, still write an exam and still do 45 hours of flying time. But most people take more than that. 60 or 80 hours before they finally get their PPL. So doing my method keeps you fresh on procedures, repetitive learning, exposure to radio work (Vatsim), I use PilotEdge.
      My instructor classed me as an accelerated student. But I was no smarter than the next guy. I simply practiced at home and kept the skills in check. Yes, flying at home can help, as long as you are practicing what you learn in real lessons.

    This is VERY nice work! Beautifully done! I couldn't tell from the video, if I am using an online ATC program such as PilotEdge, can I listen AND transmit on both COM1 and COM2 with this Cessna?

    • @ForderLearnToFly
      @ForderLearnToFly  2 года назад

      Yes you can so the sound test as PilotEdge expects. You could with stock Asobo too so this mod didn't change that. For those reading this and haven't used PilotEdge, you dial in 123.45 on both com1 and com2 and then push your mic button to test. You hear (a slight echo) of your voice as it actually transmits out com1 and receives back on com2. We call it the 5 finger pilot to pilot frequency and it works great.

    • @ForderLearnToFly
      @ForderLearnToFly  2 года назад +2

      I should have included that in the manual. Because of the limitations of the sim so far, you just click on the message to fix it. Once they open more of the sim to devs in U10 and 11, they can animate a fix. For example, click on your low oil level message in yellow or red and it goes green and tops up your oil. They hope in later versions you can flip the dipstick cover and animate oil being added. Fouling message has to be fixed by high revs and leaning the mixture, as in real life.

      hi hunkyaz, thanks for your comment. This mod doesn't update the dynamics. Microsoft handles that (or Asobo) and they have improved that immensely since update 8. As this sim has constant attention and a team of devs to improve it, you will see more refinement over the months ahead too. With update 10 days away as of this writing, this mod takes advantage of some of those improvements too.

    This isn't a study level enhancement, not even close.
    It still uses the default flight model, its basically an instrument upgrade with basic wear 'n tear.
    No ability to do preflight checks, and engine flooding doesn't seem to be accurately modelled (engine starts are way too easy).
