    That you for sharing, this is great, and solves a motion-capture issue I have. Your result looks seamless... the depth of field seems more real than any CG background. Fooled me. 🏆

    Extremely helpful! I've been wanting to try this, since it somewhat more realistically casts ambient light upon the subjects from behind (based on what is actually in the projected scene). Can't wait to get started. Thanks!

    Nice! These old school rear and front projection techniques are amazing... nice to capture it all in camera, and give some more immersion for the actors. Cheers for posting! :)

    Thank you for this. I was planning on using chroma key for some car shots, though rear screen projection seems like it would have better results.

      Alternate hello, I was planning to shoot a car commercial in my house studio. I decided to use a projector for the background and started to search RUclips to see if there was any information. Then I ended up here. This is the most realistic looking one. I couldn’t tell it was a projected if i didn’t know. So have you ended up making your commercial? I was wondering which one is better. Front projection or rear projection? I only have 10 by 12 feet white screen and a good quality full HD projector with good contrast. With this one I can only do front projection. What kind of screen do I need for a rear projection? Do you know? I already ordered a scale car and it’s coming in 2 days. I’d appreciate if you can share some experience. Thank you very much.

    A comment about frame synchronisation would have been helpful. Maybe modern video has a lag time or auto synchs but it is importance surely?

    Not sure if you’re still answering questions but how would you go about getting access to a plane inside or out? Cheapest to most expensive options.

    Nobody ever explains how the projector gets the image on the screen. Does the picture show on both sides of the screen? Nobody ever talks about this part.

    • @kinetek2881
      @kinetek2881  4 года назад +1

      Yes. The screen is a rear screen designed to show the picture on the front when the image is projected on the back.You can rent them. It looks like 216 or tracing paper. A plain shower curtain can do the trick. or a plain white bed sheet. But the sheet brings down the contrast.

      Just did. That's what brought me to this video. They did it around the entire set. If I could figure out how to do it on an almost no budget, I'd totally do projection over green screen

    Awesome....wondering if anyone knows how much space is needed to project an image that will appear to be 10'x12'? and what kind of screen material is used?

    • @andinbriwel1092
      @andinbriwel1092 5 лет назад

      Depends on the projector and lens. Many projectors have interchangeable lenses to adjust for different throw lengths, even for steep angles. Check out the app ProjectorPro as it gives you a graphic representation with dimensions for a good number of models. Rent a rear projection screen from a rental house, and build your set pieces around it - or, go on the cheap and use a shower curtain like he said he did here ;)
      Or a big, neutral silk diffuser, if you have one.

    how high was your ISO?

    • @kinetek2881
      @kinetek2881  4 года назад +1

      This was shot on Red Epic. At the time 350 iso gave the best contrast. If i shot it today with a Red I'd go 800 iso
