Use to Cruze the park back in the 80s in my red firebird, that was the place to be on warm summer days. The memories

Great work ! Spent 3 years & 125 million to ruin a perfectly good, functioning, usable wonderful park, nothing more than a pet project for city council to pat themselves on the back. Oh, and still not open for two more years, 2 summers and winters lost.

Good to see how lush the valley is right now! Went for a huge river valley walk yesterday around the east end... So nice out! Edmonton and its finest, just like last night! ;-)

Edmonton is beautiful, the landscape is underrated, too bad more people don't know about it or have experienced it.

Before: Trees, grass, benches. Three years later and 134.6 million spent: Trees, grass, benches.

Doesn't look like it's anywhere near completion. What's the timeline on this?

Sometime in 2026 it is Scheduled to Reopen, However it will not be anything like it was. Cars will be restricted to the North Parking Lot, and only the God Damn Bicycles will have access to the Ring Road. Another City Facility Ruined because of Effin Bikes

I still call it Mayfair. Much prettier name.
Was a very nice park, not sure ripping it apart like that is money well spent.

Specially when you know what corruption surrounded that Mayor. I still call it Mayfair also. But now we can call it a massive waste of money

I'm with you, brother. Mayfair. Hawrelak was a shitty mayor too. Come to think of it, they all are.

Drained the pond, taken grass out and not built anything new. A massive tax scam! Well done as usual.

Perfect example of how stupid our City is. And after it's all done there will still be no place to swim or a beach in the summer. Once again Calgary has the vision and Edmonton behaves like some back water hill billy town. Zero vision or common sense.

The Road thru the Park should have been Widened to allow Parallel Parking on Both Sides, and a Total Ban of Bicycles on it, as those Bastards NEVER obey the Speed Limit, and were forever Riding the Wrong Way. I had a Couple become Hood Ornaments on my car when they were riding into the Park using the Exit Lanes
The Old Park was much Better than the BS design they are making it

I only use it typically once per year for a family reunion picnic and the parking along the river is sadly lacking. Never noticed the bikes.

I'm glad I visited the park in the past when it was prestine and beautiful
Went on the paddle boats, playing football by the pond and the geese chasing my ball, having a brew, while having a hot dog roast
I'm not sure what there doing now but won't ever be the same

@@richardmark268 Yeah if you do get caught they might impose a fine and they will take away your drone, I don't like it myself it's in the River Valley anyway, I say who cares if you keep it around 500 feet?
