    Awesome stuff, in my opinion the 16th and 17th centuries tend to be ignored by a lot of history enthusiasts which is a shame because one could argue that the era of pike and shot had some of the best tactics and military innovations in history.

    Great video on an often forgotten period in military history.
    One thing I’ve always wondered, the buff coat you’re wearing.... does that thing work? I get it will make you more comfortable under armor but does it actually work as armor of any sort? Seems inferior to a gambeson in that respect.

    • @AllemansendRe-enactment
      @AllemansendRe-enactment  4 года назад +2

      What tom is wearing is a leather jerkin, its often confused for a buffcoat.
      Buffcoats would be thicker and thougher.
      The jerkin was just for confort and to protect the clothing agains the chaffing of the armour.
      Also propper buffcoats wer verry uncomen for pikemen.
      If we could ever get our hands on propper buffleather it would be interesting to see what it could take.
