Welcome to my fleet histories series. In it I review year-by-year aircraft fleets of an airline.
In this video I go through the history of Emirates' Airbus A330 fleet from 1999 to 2016.

in 2014 i had a flight on emirates a330 to kochi from dubai man that was the last ever time i used a ek 330 now they use b777s on this route

They'll buy the A330NEO since the A380 program has ended. So A330 will be back but in NEO variant

Why 2016 :(
Fleet streamlining, they decided it was simpler to stick with the 777 and A380 alone.
they should order the a350 and the 777xs
Emirates had orders for the A350 but they cancelled them and replaced it with the 787-10. They do have orders for the 777X though - 150 if I remember correctly!
@Kurt Number1 The 787s aren't cancelled, people just assume they are. Emirates haven't announced anything official that they aren't taking them on.
@Kurt Number1 Yes it will, the airline wants to eventually remove the A380s and not take delivery of the 787.
