- GUITAR LESSON BRASS IN POCKET The Pretenders
This was a request - a great song, easy to learn and very much fun to play!
I hope you enjoy!
“Brass in Pocket" is a 1979 single by The Pretenders. It was written by Chrissie Hynde and James Honeyman-Scott, and produced by Chris Thomas. Originating as a guitar lick written by Honeyman-Scott, the song features lyrics that Hynde explained to be about the cockiness that one needs to effectively perform. The song's title originated as a phrase she overheard after a show.
"Brass in Pocket" became the band's biggest hit to that point, reaching number one in the UK and number 14 in the US.
Have to admit, it it hard to resist the urge to play at least one Pretenders song whenever I plug in one of my two Teles. Great work!

Thanks for such a nice comment!
what chorus did you use for this song?
I am using a profile trough my Helix and the Chorus is the one called " 70's Chorus ". Thanks for watching!
When I was playing with ***** we had a sound engineer,Danny Gallacher (RIP) he had a spectrum analyser, you didn't want to be in the theatre when he kicked that thing off ;-0) When he'd finished,he would always play UB40 and the Pretenders to fine tune the sound, great days and you are a maestro, great lesson! \m/
Thanks Clive... great story - and thanks for sharing. Coming from you is a great compliment...
