This is what I love about the eighties everyone was unique and original! The punks, the mods, the goths the new romantics, you name it! Now I see the self professed influencers on instagram and everyone looks exactly the friggin same!
You are so correct. We are so boring now. The 80s were electric, colourful, exciting and magical. In the 80s the 2000s were seen as the exciting future but we are more backward than ever now in present day.
It’s the TikTok effect. It’s popular to dress in all black and white amongst people my age and everyone wants to be like the biggest creators on there. There are other true eighties goths but they aren’t as popular unfortunately
Funny! Looking at it today, Limahl and Nick look kind of normal for someone working in the pop music "industry". But when you look at the two BBC guys and hear their questions about hairstyles and their looks, you realise that Kajagoogoo were just ahead of their time.
"We have been together for 17 months". Imagine a startup business going from zero to hero in 17 months. That is incredibly fast. Most companies take 30 years to reach those limits.
Nick Beggs and Andrew Ridgely had such beautiful skin. I eventually sided with crushing on Andrew since they became massive LOL, but what beautful smile Nick has, and he's soft spoken like Andrew is. And Limahl, he will always be known for inspiring millions to have his hair, and his 2 big hits will be played forever!
Nick Beggs was so goodlooking you thought you couldn't improve on his looks. But then you saw the US video to Turn.. and later the Shouldn't Do That video from Kaja. Thats the Kaja i miss, the very skilled and insanely well dressed gods they became for a while. And those mixes. Damn they where good. Real grown up funk mixed with Nicks insane voice. Never got the intrest in Limahl. He seems to be focused on what 10 year old girls liked. Nick was a real musician that made grown up records. And deep lyrics too. The closest Limahl got to that was The Waiting Game. But he tended to stick to nonsense stuff.. Nothing deep there.. 😕

Agreed. Many have become carbon copies, heavily negatively influenced by social media.
Ravers and the Later 80s had Indie, Madchester and the Ravers. Long live the 80s.

Both nick and limhal’s hairstyles 😍 im sorry but I would wear both of those hairstyles in a heartbeat lol
You're a girl right
They are so lovely and modest. And so lovely English.....
I like them, too

Wrong.

you are so real for this. Nick and Andrew are beauties
Limahl Love it ❤️☺️😘🇭🇺
Limahl ❤❤❤
What made me laugh is that Nick Beggs hair style in 2003 was just like Mike Smiths in 1983.
I cannot believe how the camera could not pan smoothly across the studio to the other person. Very poor.
Yeah, sad 😂
Superb thank you !👌
Limahl❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
Great music.
Limahl ❤
Thank you.
My girlfriend and I saw them in Leicester and H2O were supporting them must have been 1983 tour.
What were H20 like? I really like Dream To Sleep and Blue Diamond ( not a hit but garnered a lot of radio play in 1987).
they were a good live band, their single dream to sleep is excellent.@@eightiesmusic1984
What a tremendous song it is. If I were a rapper I'd love to sample that bassline.
Hosted by mike smith
Lol funny name for a band
I was 23 in 1983 I wanted to get my hair done like lamal
Don't lie, if you were 23 in 83, you could at least get your grammar correct.....
@@bIuebitten4675I think he can be forgiven misspelling limahl since it's not a real name
@@j0s3phXO Not to mention that it's literally spelt out in the title...🙄
Kewl!❤☮🌎
Hola. Jola
How rehearsed & wooden is this interview.
I thought nick was a woman
What if you're a one hit wonder? 😂
