David, glad to hear you’re now cancer free and healthy. Health is wealth. I have always been fit and healthy until a month or so ago I felt out of breath when walking and talking. This is due to lack of exercise for about a year. I am back to hiking with a goal of 2 hikes a week and 7+ miles each time. I have done about 8 hikes now and I am starting to feel better.

Couple years ago i treated only running, cycling, gym as my sport routine. Now i appreciate more nature and i love hiking. This is important part of my workout routine. I like to use it especially on Sundays as a form of connecting with God. Good movie sir. All the best :)

I was having a conversation with my cousin about why I enjoy hiking so much. She stopped me mid-sentence and asked, "it's spiritual for you isn't it?" What a great observation... right on target!

Again, thank you for sharing…your reason for being on the trail is similar to mine. My story is that my grandmother had several heart attacks and I visited her in ICU several times as a young adult. I do not want to go through that. Then my father (her son) had a few heart attacks and those were wake up calls for me. He died from cancer 6 years ago. I do not want to go through that. I was very athletic young person but now older, I’m overweight and don’t cope with stress very well. It’s got to change and I’m determined. What better way to do it than to be out in nature where I feel closest to the Creator. The One who says give all your cares to Him and do not worry about tomorrow. Onward and upward…

Good video, there are so many advantages of hiking that it's hard to list them all. Nature simply has the answers for almost everything.

Thanks so much for all the benefits you mentioned, I did start hiking a week ago after longer times. And I can see the benefits about and improvements in my stress anxiety and pains in the body.
But my buttocks muscles are I can say feelings a little unstretchable and feel so small. What should I do for my shaped buttocks and secondly what should you recommend me in taking types of foods and nutritions along with hiking?

Thanks! As part of your new healthier lifestyle, you may consider adding a strength and conditioning routine to help develop weaker muscle groups - a professional trainer might help you with this. But, honestly, don't overdo it - these things take time - just stay active and enjoy nature! And part of this you should also include a diet of as much fresh and unprocessed food as you can. I eat mostly plants and some fish. Good luck on your journey!
