True dat, he's the don of techy breaks. Just search his mixes here on RUclips. Koma & Bones, Bushwacka!, Lee Coombs, Tipper, Plump DJs are also right up there.
@Thunderous One Don't you mean 2003? Is there another set? ruclips.net/video/w3v9y46UjPg/видео.html Edit: Ok no, you're right. I just looked it up. Nice, I didn't even know that he had done one in 1997.
I think Adam should move back to the UK & kick off a whole new, nu skool breaks scene. I'm sure a lot of artists would be onboard ! If only. Anyone else remember the days of the then good, kiss 100 FM radio station, with Adam Freeland the breakbeat show on every Friday night ? Tune in, put a cassette tape (remember those) in & press play & record easy
Repeat to fade... I had about 8 of his sets, it was his dj sets that brought me to Fabric nightclub. Him Beyer, Koma and Bones and esp Hybrid. Goooood times.
Dude, I remember my jaw dropping with a tear in my eye in 1997 when I first hear his Radio One “Essential Mix” Still to this day I refer to it as “bring baptised in frequency and rhythm”
Still remember him crowdsourcing to his nirvana remix at the Arthouse in Sydney. Was an epic show and this is still one of my favourite dj mixes of all time.
Adam made, and keeps making his mark! Very innovative. He properly demonstrates his unique style, yet presents all of his influences into his sets. He is the best thing since Doc Martin! Much different djs yet made such an impact on djing...taking it forward and opening doors.
When was this mix done originally? Seems fishy that Adam F one of the godfathers of modern breakbeats could somehow do a whole ass breezeblock and not include either "We Want Your Soul" or a SINGLE tune by the Stanton Warriors or DJ Icey..
This sounds like a vinyl mix to me, so probably from early 2000s. Although DJ Icey is a breaks god and We Want Your Soul is a fantastic timeless track, this Freeland mix is thoughtful and has its own vibe.
He just came up to us homelands 05, in the crowd and started chatting, then he helped me as i was choking on a pill. Where the fuck was Oakenfold, right. So... Yeah...... top dj.
For me, this guy was at the top of the popular Breaks surge in the early 2000s.
