Tyson Fury retires once more, but is this time for real and, if so, why now?

I am so sick of hearing media outlets saying that poor Fury may have slowed down a little. His speed wasn’t quite what it used to be. His legs aren’t what they used to be. It’s all complete garbage and you’re only feeding the monster and giving him excuses. Even if all that rubbish was true, he still had every advantage in the book over Usyk. Height, weight, reach and age. Had a big bushy beard, shorts up to his nipples and then proceeded to use every dirty trick in the ring. He lost to the much better fighter! I don’t hear people giving Klitschko the same excuses for losing to Fury when he was getting older. You don’t tell everyone that klitschko had slowed down. You just glaze Fury and now incredible he was for beating the man.

Na tbh it's just honesty to say that fury isn't the fighter he used to be.. I'd argue he was never the same after the years of eating and drinking himself to death. Your right he has every physical advantage so it is interesting to contemplate what he could've been had he not left Peter fury and wasted his prime years on the drink

Fury retired after klitscko was because there was supposed to be a rematch and klitscko was afraid that first time coz tyson outlasted him in a sauna. Then in the rematch press conference he wanted it and fury shit himself and retired. Then got popped for roids and tried to bribe a boar farmer

Best thing to do is just ignore him. Play along, if thats what Fury really wants then off you go, see you later, its been emotional. Because at this point, hes becoming boring. Any admiration I had for Fury is quickly going after his (and families)recent behaviour, particularly the lack of respect he has shown Usyk. Tyson Fury is/was a brilliant boxer, perhaps the best heavyweight to come from the UK. His career, and personal story with its ups, downs and comebacks has been a great ride. Enough is enough though, and his antics are now obvious and irritating.
If this is a play to generate more money, if he will eventually fight AJ, then these games he plays further diminish his legacy in my opinion.
No doubt the media interest will continue and therefore stroke his ego. But would anybody be surprised if it wasn't all just his usual BS.

Don't believe a word of it. He'll get bored within a couple of months and be back in the ring fighting AJ by the summer.

It's an obvious move. He probably fancies the AJ fight, but being retired gives him mkre leverage during negotiations. We've seen all this before. Time for the new generation to break through now.

Ever played poker with someone who goes "all in" every hand? That's Fury in negotiations. He's trying to get the most money from Turki and Hearn by saying he'll retire if he doesn't get what he wants. In poker this works when the "bully" holds most of the chips, but Turki should call his bluff following the no-show at the Ring awards, he'd shit himself.

The wage for a fighter getting taken out of retirement to fight due to demand vrs the wage for an active fighter expected to fight are totally different.
If he did retire, well he has a great career to look back on and should be proud. He did what not one of us could in the ring and thats admirable.
That said, i wouldn't be surprised to see him get back in for the 2025 Riyadh closer in December, albeit after a monumental cycle of the whats what in his system to give him that boost for the fight.

This might be his thinking but he doesn't hold the cards any more. No belts, no undefeated record and AJ is just as big, if not a bigger star than Fury, whether that's justified or not.
If he comes back it's a 50/50 split, 80,000 at Wembley, £30 ppv and they can both sail off into the sunset. It's all about whether Fury wants it or not.
He knows if he loses to AJ at this stage it tarnishes his legacy quite a bit as AJ is clearly not top level any more 🥊

Fury lives off gaslighting the public and loves leveraging for more money. You attribute the loss down to diminishing physicality and fitness and a skill set that couldnt be employed because of it. I am fed up of that narrative.
    He is younger than usyk.
He nearlh got badly knocked out in the first fight
In the second he was outskilled outmanouvered and couldnt deal with usyks superior attributes.
In my opinion too.many channels and the mainstream media give usyk nowhere near enough credit for just how special he is. That is not the best usyk of his career, not close. He is the best of his era and an all time great

Fury’s resume isn’t great compared to the talent he has , we may well have missed his best years when he has battling his illness and that’s a shame . His best wins are Klitschko , whyte and wilder one of those guys he fought three times whom had never beaten a top five opponent , because he was protected, AJ has the better resume fought the better opposition . Had fury fought Uysk a few years ago might it have been different ? Maybe but that is on fury he ducked the fight for two years . Jesus the guy wouldn’t fight dilion whyte for years remember that one .
I remember him saying once the only way he would ever lose is if he got knocked out and I think he genuinely believed that , maybe one of the reasons he is having a hard time accepting what happened.
Having said that he was a character and a very talented fighter and boxing needs characters he will be missed if it sticks good luck to him and his family

Sorry Nick. I think you are very unprofessional because you continuously mispronounce people’s names. Learn them and respect them, you are making a living by speaking about them and you don’t even know their names? Turki’s surname has 3 syllables, it is Ben Davison, not Davidson, Topuria has 4 syllables. Maybe it’s me being on the spectrum and only having intelligence of a certain kind but I would think you should know their names.

    Legs have gone?
2 of the closest HY fights ever.
Usyk won the 2nd fight by 1 point, just nicking rounds in the last 30 secs.
Go back and score without the volume on.
The first fight ,round 9 was the difference.
It will all come out in the WASH.

The why is because there is a party in London and he wasn’t there, his need to feel special important ..
Dick Turpin refers to him either robbing the boxing industry or usyk in is eyes robbing the fight..
He will come back for 200+ million..
He never fought well in Saudi, so another reason why..
I like this fury, not kneeling for Saudi sausage..

    1 round 10-8 in the 1st fight
