It really is nothing short of crazy just how much snow we've been getting this year. Normally, we get just enough to get out and play for a day and then it's all gone by the afternoon. That being said, I can't exactly say that the snow hasn't been a welcome sight to see especially being that it's so much fun to drive our Jeeps in it. And, being that we have so many Jeeps to choose from, we decided it was finally time to lock up Jane's hubs, shift her into 4WD and taker her out for a spin in the white stuff. For sure, it's nothing epic but in this short video, you'll get to see what it's like to wheel some old school cool both doorless and topless and under sky of falling snow. We hope you enjoy.
SPECS: Jane is a 1974 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade that is painted a factory Jetset Blue Metallic. She is running a factory AMC 304 V8 Engine mated to a T-15 3-Speed Manual Transmission and Dana 20 Transfer Case. Her axles are a Dana 30 up front with WARN locking hubs and a Dana 44 in the rear. Tires are currently 31x10.50R15 Cooper STT Pros and they're mounted on her original factory Mag aluminum wheels. A nice bonus is her WARN 8074 winch which she came with from the factory. Aftermarket products include a Rancho 2" lift, Rancho RS9000 shocks, a Holley Truck Avenger 470 Carburetor, Edelbrock Air Cleaner, MSD Distributor and Dynomax Exhaust System. Last but not least, her tub has been finished with Raptor Bed Liner. Авто/Мото
That Jeep in that setting. Perfect. Jeep couldn't do better in their best day for advertising as what you've done here. Excellent.
We're truly flattered you would say as much. Thank you :)
@@wayalife it’s true, that was a beautiful setting for a legendary vehicle 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful jeep!
Now that was the definition of fun. I takes me back to using my uncle's CJ-5 on his ranch to hunt mulies and antelope. Thank you for sharing!
That CJ-5 is the epitome of old school COOL! Thanks for bringing her out to play in that winter wonderland and sharing with us.
Thank you. We're happy to hear you had fun watching our video :)
In 1981 I had a very similar 74 CJ5 with a Chevy 283, Rancho suspension and Smittybuilt weld on roll cage. Loved it. Drove it all over Great Lakes, IL winter of 81-82.
Awesome
I love that Jane, I’ve got a 75 CJ5 that’s been with me for over 40 years. Done plenty of mods changed to power steering, T18 trans 33s and a 401 V8 to name a few will never sell her. Love your guys videos keep it up!
Awesome! Sounds like you have a hell of a nice CJ5
This video is getting me excited! Finally getting my 73' cj5 on the road this spring after a complete restoration
Awesome - glad to hear you've been breathing new life into some old iron :)
I had a 72 w/the Buick V-6 Now I have a 97 TJ
My dad has a rebuilt 73 cj5. He’s had it since before I was born and we restored it together a few years ago. These old heels are the best
I meant jeeps.. stupid auto correct
Lets see a picture
I’m glad that watching this video is the very first thing that my newborn daughter ( yesterday at 11.45 am ) and I are doing together!
Keep the shiny side up, all 4 on the floor and with any luck, we’ll see you on the trail!
- Kev from Quebec!
Way too cool - congratulations!
Wayalife thank you so much for making there beautiful video, you guys are really a part of this jeep passion that I have!
kevin leblanc congrats !!!!
Man i have a 78 cj7 been sitting for years. I started looking at pics of my dad back in the day with his 80 cj5 at deer camp Big Buck draped over the spare tire and decided it's time to get my jeep going and recreate it.
I don't ever comment and not sure you will even see this comment on a little bit older video, but I just can't help but smile watching you guys in this video! So much passion and joy in that beautiful Jeep, I just love it!! You two post some of the best most informative videos on here.
Thank you, we're flattered you would say as much and really do appreciate it :)
You totally made me smile with this video! My dad and I rebuilt a 71 cut together. It had the Buick v6 with a 3 speed transmission with a splitter. We put dual glass packs on it as well. My dad gave it to me as my first "car" when we finished. We used at as our hunting vehicle as well as my daily driver. My family made so many great memories in that jeep. This video made those memories flood back in my head! Thanks for making the video!
Awesome! We're so glad that we could help take you down memory lane with our video :)
She is just to pretty to take in the snow ,,, i only take mine out when its nice and sunny lol , love it ,,, i used to have a 81 CJ5, now i have a 1985 CJ7,,, so much fun,,
LOL - for the most part, us too.
Thank you for sharing. As usual, great videographer (Cindy), great editing, and awesome Jeep!
We're so glad that you enjoyed it and Cindy thank's you for your kind words :)
You have an amazing collection of Jeeps!
Thank you :)
Oh man. Brings back memories of my old 74 Renegade. That jeep is what got me hooked on Jeeps to begin with. Now 30 years later I have have the disease. I've had several Jeeps but nothing like that old CJ-5. But the first thing I did do to it was power steering. Love your videos
LOL! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
That jeep looks so good its almost stupid!
Thank you. She was truly a labor of love and we're so glad to know others can appreciate her too :)
@@wayalife It truly is! there's something really special about the color of it as well. A+ on all choices made for this build!
Thank you. Once we realized that this was her original color, we knew we had bring her back to it.
@@wayalife So Jane is a restoration! Fabulous job. I suspect the two of you did all of the work together. As you say, It's a way of life!
@@andymckane7271 Oh yeah, found her in bad shape on the side of the road and brought her back to life. You can see it here ruclips.net/video/iIinZX3Og68/видео.html
I come back to this video from time to time, one of the best jeep videos ever.
LOL - why thank you. So glad you enjoy it :)
Anytime I see a video pop up with Jane I stop everything and watch it. This one did not disappoint. Thanks for letting us ride along!
LOL - Glad to hear we didn't disappoint :)
Just started on my 1974 cj it’s blue , had a new one in 1974 always missed it so here we go
Bought a new Renegade in 74, 304 three speed with warn winch, vinal top,let it go many years ago after getting hit by a side ways out of control toyota,it was a small country road both not going that fast, toyota got the worst part but mine got fender and bumper bent, drove on to work and it never did handle right after that,I think it tweaked the frame, thats the reason I sold it,thats one I wish I had kept!
Doesn't matter if she is a JK, a JL or a old CJ... The main think is... Keep Jeeping!!
Man! I love this little CJ Renegade!! 😍😍
LOL - Indeed and thank you :)
Beautiful. You are one lucky guy. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. :)
So awesome! I owned a '74 CJ5 when I was just out of High School. I paid $4,000 for it and thought the seller was too greedy. But it was without a doubt the coolest and most fun vehicle I've ever owned. This video brings back some amazing memories. I may never do it, but I'd love to get one again. Today, my $4K might buy some tires and shocks for it...
Very cool and I think you're right LOL
Very cool! Classic look with great upgrades. The sound of that CJ says it alone. A lot of good memories. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Outstanding! Just bought a 75' CJ5 from a buddy, that's been sitting in storage as a project. Rebuild her with your tips and hints. THANX for sharing and motivation 😜
Awesome! Congratulations on your new old iron and glad to hear our videos have been inspirational to you.
I love JANE! I love your CJ-5 brotha. I was 18 years old & I was stationed in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky in the ARMY when I first saw a CJ-5. That was the time I fell in love with JEEP Wranglers. My first Jeep was YJ. Now I own the 2019 JL RUBICON 2dr. I LOVE IT! Keep them cool videos coming. ALOHA from HAWAII, chee hoo \\m/
Thank you and you can be sure more videos are coming your way :)
I had a CJ5 back in the late 70's.......I was just telling my son this week how I wish I still had it. And now I come crossed your video!! Mine was red with a black soft top. I put some Desert Dog PVC's on it with the old school white spoke rims. I miss it so much......but it was always in the shop for one thing or another.
Back in the late 90s till 2003 i had a rock crawler all tubed up and drove it every winter in the black hill SD 30 bellow and more than 10 mph your eyes will freeze shut. Air down to 2 psi and it could float on 12 ft of snow. I would so drive that jeep every day top or no top. Union suit and coveralls id be game to wheel with you
This is the way jeeps are supposed to be! Awesome video... keep going.
what gorgeous video! 'cept for modern tires and LED lights, these could be best effort Jeep commercials from the era..
infectious enthusiasm!
I have 4 jeeps a 47 willys with the go devil engine in it a cj7 we made a mud buggy a grand Cherokee and my pride and joy my jeep wrangler Rubicon with lift 40 tires Dana 60 axels with 513 gears front and rear lockers and a hemi engine in it putting out 750 hp at the wheels.
Absolutely beautiful color
Thank you :)
beautifull - every things beautifull
Thank you :)
Hi Jane, you're so pretty! I have Sophie, a close sister of here here in AZ, 1979 CJ7, white with blue interior and all stock restored, I love driving CJ almost more than any of my other cars/trucks!
Awesome, so glad you've been able to save some old iron too :)
Awesome jeep! Awesome video! We have a 2017 Renegade, 2004 Wrangler Rubicon, 2000 Cherokee, 1983 Cherokee
Very cool!
Wheeling in fresh snow is the only thing I love about snow 😁😁😁
LOL - agreed. Aside from that, it's kind of a pain 🤪
Old School Cool! Looking to buy my retirement toy the Fall of 2022. I survived a 27 years career in the US Army as a Cavalry Scout. so 1982 Jeep CJ-7 Golden Eagle would be just what the Doctor ORDERED!
Awesome Jeep and beautiful country
Thank you :)
this brings back memories of cold winters in Maine, blowing through snow drifts in my dad's orange '73 CJ-5 with the stars and stripes.
Awesome :)
Beautiful Jeep. WOW
Thank you :)
Awesome video! Awesome CJ! Like you said, that's how a Jeep should be driven! You've inspired me to go outside, take the doors of my JK and drive around in the snow!
LOL - Awesome :)
Beautiful!
Thank you!
I have a JL, but I do miss my old '80 CJ-7 Laredo (304 V8). Thanks for preserving that beautiful jeep and posting this vid.
It's always nice to see a JL owner who can appreciate something like this. Seems to be fewer and fewer these days.
Beautiful jeep,Jane is a looker
Thank you :)
Love the ride. Feel the freedom with the snow nd cold but of course JANE !!!!! THANK YOU !!!
LOL - glad you enjoyed the video :)
Beautiful Jeep. Great video too. It was nice to see you two having so much fun enjoying a classic.
Thank you :)
I bet you got a few funny looks from ppl, heading to the trail topless and doorless on a day like that. " It's a Jeep thing" 😉👍🏼
LOL!! Maybe more than a few :)
Heck I went doorless topless in 40 degrees with the JK and got funny looks. It's a Jeep thing for sure!
A few years ago I finished my 74. I'm in the paint and body business so it was easy for me to make it super nice. I put a 4BT Cummins, a Ford 4 speed, With auxillary overdrive. I did a proper spring over so I built a Dana Super 18. Two reasons for the 18 is 1- lower driveshaft angles and 2- I wanted to run the Saturn overdrive. I have 3:73's roling on 35's so the gearing is perfect for my purposes. It's my daily driver and I put over 22K miles on it since I finished it. I painted it moss green pearl metallic. I get tons of compliments, won a couple trophies, and get almost 30mpg. I love that thing, I'm never selling it!
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention I put in power brakes, power steering, big disc brakes in front with the 6 bolt caliper plates. Thanks for sharing yours!!
Sounds like you've got yourself one hell of a nice rig!
@@wayalife Yes sir, and the satisfaction of being built 100% in house by me. I can't afford to buy what I want, so I have to build it. Having the ability to do so is a gift and a curse though.
At least i can see the person who use to film you! I’ve heard her voice but never seen her! She’s amazing ! Congratulations! It is an old posting in actual time! Hello from Africa.
LOL - you can see her and driving in some of our other videos like this ruclips.net/video/f0enmzWEKEw/видео.html
Jane is finally in her element. She's one good lookin' snow bunny!
Yes she is :)
One of my favorite if not my favorite video on you tube. For real. Love this. Hope you still have this CJ ♥️
Wow, so glad to hear it and yes, we still have this CJ 😎
Brought a smile to my face!! Brings memories to mind, the manual steering, drum breaks front and rear, yeah it was a work out!
LOL!! Jeeps sure have come a long way haven't they.
@@wayalife yeah lol
I have a 73 same color injected 304 in mine sitting on 39.5s iroks. Beautiful jeep man BEAUTIFUL
Topless + doorless is what I do with my 1954 M38A1 (essentially cj5 but military variant) in the winter! I even park it outside so I end up shoveling my seats and stuff off. Fun stuff. I'm putting on a Tiger Top or Super Top soon...
Very cool! 😎
beautiful CJ5!
Thank you :)
impressive resto-beauty thanx fpor sharing
Really appreciate you saying as much, thank you 😎
That Jeep is awesome. Got a ‘71 myself
Awesome!
What an awesome time, nothing beats the old CJs. Thanks for sharing Eddie, you have an immaculate garage!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Ive had a bunch of jeeps. That one is sweet. Makes me miss my stock 73. I would carve the roads up. She drove like a Porsche. I do like the 40 inch tires too. Guess a man has to have a few jeeps to be satisfied.
LOL - Fortunately, we do have a few :)
Wayalife i saw those in the background. You got it made. My 13 yr old daughter has to have a jeep so thats my next project. Problem is i cant talk her into a TJ. Shes demanding a cj with all the issues that come with them. Take care.
Future goals for sure
LOL - Awesome
Jane sure look good out there. I enjoyed watching her. She is a true Jeep
Thank you :)
Amazing video. Glad to see Jane again. Looking forward for more of her. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. We'll definitely have to bring her out of the stable more in the future.
Love that Jeep I owned a 1974 renegade in champagne white . Bought it in 1976 used , wish i never sold it! Famous last words
Sorry to hear you sold yours.
I still have my 72 cj today the Carburator comes off for rebuild, this new gas turns bad so fast
Cool jeep. The scenery is just what you live for.
DUDE, What a Beautiful Jeep. You got the Toys. and what a nice area. Thanks for the video. God Bless.
Glad you enjoyed it
That video made me so happy! My first Jeep when I was a teenager was a blue 76 CJ5. I love all your videos, but the ones with Calamity Jane are my favorites!
Awesome, so glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Oh wow such a sweet Jeep!
Thank you :)
Wow...Jeeps and a Winter wonderland! Amazing scenery and so much snow! Totally jealous.❄️☕️
Thank you. It's been quite the snow year for us.
That's it - I'm gonna go out and find my old CJ!
LOL - awesome! There's old iron out there that needs to be saved :)
What a beauty.
Thanks! :)
Awesome!!! You and Cindy are living your best life!
Thank you.
Wayalife >>> excellent video! That's one beautiful Jeep. Excellent snow footage ... I felt I was driving the Jeep myself. Thanks for the share! ;-)
Awesome, we're so glad to hear it.
Awesome love CJs I have a 1982 Cj5
Nice 👍
I had a 74 cj5,,, it was my first vehicle and I would give anything to have it back
Great Jeep, sorry you had to give yours up.
My first Jeep was a 74 CJ5, 304V8 and 3spd manual. It was my daily driver for a few years. I lived in Michigan at the time. In the winter I would sill off behind the front seats with clear plastic and duct tape but it was still cold. I also remember when the YJ's came out they sold kits to convert CJ's to square headlights.
Yup I agree with you tuples no doors .loving the snow .beautiful video. To you both .I hope they best in 2024 .🙏👍🌞🌙🌟⭐️
Thank you and hope you have a wonderful year 😎
This is the first video I’ve watched from this channel, and the production quality is waaay better than anything I’ve seen from any other Jeep/off-road channel. Good job, dude!
Thank you. We're truly flattered that you would say as much. :)
Same
3 years later and all I can say is 'same!'
If I owned Jane there'd be NO WAY she'd ever see snow.....way too good looking for that :D
LOL - fortunately, we don't have salt issues up here but I hear you. This isn't something we do often. :)
Pretty sure that when the engine sits for a month that fuel evaporates out of the carb vent... Then it takes a lot of cranking with the starter for the fuel pump to refill the float bowl high enough to draw fuel into the venturi.. At least that's what seems to happen with my 66 F100.
A small dash of gas down the carb wudda been much better for the engine too
Great video !...look forward to seeing new videos from y’all every time. Love the CJ👍🏻
Thank you, we're so glad you enjoyed it :)
Good to see that you actually get her out and use her! Also, love the renegade decals and the mag wheels! They really add that special touch! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
@@wayalife
What's the lift and tire size please?
Do like I did, take out a center freeze plug and install a block heater. Mine is tied into the Battery minder on the fender well and works a treat.
Brings back great memories driving my CJ5 in Alaska, Thanks for the great video
Awesome, glad we could take you back to some fond memories :)
Nice pom ,!
Beautiful Jeep!
Thank you 😎
Another awesome video only made better that Calamity Jane came out to play ... It truly is a stunning creation and I love the fact you didn't want to scratch her :)
LOL!! We worked so hard to get her to where she is now, it is hard to take her out. However, it'd be a shame if she never got out to play.
What a beautiful Jeep, and a great day to go topless. Thanks for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed the video :)
Beautiful jeep! I have a 73 I still wheel and daily drive all but the winter. Nothing like this generation of Jeeps. Great video!
Awesome :)
I love your channel, I'm in love with jeep and this 1974 is top, maintenance is the part I like the most, I'm from Brazil, a hug
It can't get any better than that! Thanks for posting
Thank you, we're so glad you enjoyed it :)
You two are awesome and love the work you did to this Jeep. You are a Jeep artist. It is nice to see you use it also. Once again, thank you for your content. I have enjoyed all of your videos and you have taught me alot about Jeeps and Jeeping.
We really appreciate it and we're so glad to hear you say as much :)
Loved the ride. Thanks for taking me along. I have to mention though, I didn’t hear Cindy complain about the steering. LOL,,,, There was a time when everything we drove was manual.
Love those 70's vintage CJ5's with the V8. Jane is looking great. Safe Travels Brother!
They really are the best. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Snow Fun! Love it! Smiles all around.
Awesome, glad you had fun watching our video :)
Really nice looking jeep
Thank you :)
Super nice jeep
Thanks 👍
Greetings from North Central Idaho. I own a 1974 CJ5 Renegade too. It is the same blue color with a white hardtop. I did however add power steering, brakes, disc & lockers. Got the same 8000 pound Warn winch with 150 foot of cable on it. I do carry an extra 100 foot of cable. Trying to keep the original look. Cheers!
Awesome!
Wow! Jane is so tiny driving out from behind Moby. So cool. Thanks guys!
LOL!! It's almost frightening how small Jeep were back in the day.
I’m digging the almost vlog kind of vibe from this video. Hope to see more of Jane down the road!
Glad to hear it! It is tough for us to take her out being that she's so nice but it's also hard not to take her out being that she is so much fun to drive.
What a collection of amazing vintage Jeeps !
Thank you :)
Very nice and I'm really jealous.
LOL - thanks :)
Beautiful Jeep jeep
Thank you :)
