you made a good choice as a 1000 as your first ATV. I started off with a 300 then i went to a king quad 400. Then I wanted more power and got a can am 500...then I was like fck it ill get a new polaris 570. Now im like F-it you know what I am getting a 1000 next ha ha. I would have saved a ton of money with a 800 or 1000 as my first bike. For my side by side, i wont make that same mistake. getting a rzr 900
Watching your videos brought my close to buying the highlifter over the sportsman. Some days I wish I would have...but she will be getting a makeover soon enough to make her what she should have always been. lol
I feel you brother. I've been riding on the back of quads my whole life, I just got a 2004 Kodiak 400 4x4, smaller than I'm used to , but it rips, 60MPH is fun enough for right now atleast haha. It does the job, it's rusty but trusty. Love the video, and the quad brother, keep it up. Be safe. That's a powerful beast you have. Especially for your first ATV.
Kelone Hobbs my first atv is a 2014 honda foreman 500. i hit a anchor wire attached to a pole doing 40. i was doing close to 55 i ended up slowing down at the last second to make a turn. after that i lost self confidence, took awhile to finally get i back.
Ozark Justin. you got to remove the clutch cover take the 2 clutches off then remove the inner cover plate. rtv silicon around all the gasket areas where water can get through. put it back together n rtv the gasket for the outter cover also. then buy or build a snorkle kit is the only way on a Polaris or every water hole is trouble
I asked a black buddy of mine to go wheeling, he said "what the fuck for?" Lol. In all my years of snowmobiling, atv,s, skiing, etc, never seen a brother. Just an observation. Have fun, looks like a nice place to ride.
hey Christian. . if you haven't yet make sure you upgrade your pinion plate on the front diff. HD ATV GEAR makes a aftermarket solution to these major problem to a really expensive repair bill. the stock pinion plate is made outta really shitty aluminum and breaks if your front wheels get too much traction. DON'T WAIT... UPGRADE ASAP
Never just stop in a river and sit there. you will sink in a heartbeat. keep those tires moving and you will somewhat float right through. I'm usually 3/4 throttle on my 1000 in deep water and it moves me right on through.
You're a big boy. Im big like you, how you liking the 1000? Was thinking of getting one for myself but i was worried that my size would make it uncomfortable and effect how the bike would handle me
+OzarkJustin Silicon the case. I am guessing you are sucking in water from the duct too. If you are like the 1000 (mine), then I assume it is right at the back of the seat so everytime you get in water or mud, you submerge and suck it in, That will take a snorkel to fix or a custom plumb job. Good Luck.
+steve100091 appreciate it, but what's weird is I took the whole case off took clutch out bought glue like sealing plumbing shit dopped around everything that the case would wrap around and got a new gasket that goes between the cases and still leaks and tightened the rubber seals that go over the plastic intakes
+OzarkJustin Did you take off the inner case that mounts to the body? And how are you testing the water issue? By riding or another way? Also, are you finding dirt and other debris in there or just water?
Check out some of my videos. I'd hate to say it you will hate your sportsman after a year of riding, 3 people I ride with have newer sportsman, they have nothing but issues. 8ve had my honda for 2 years now not one issue has occurred.
Ronnie Sandoval Are you a technician? How much time do you spend repairing various brands of off-road vehicles, or snow machines, motorcycles, jet skis? I have 20 years and thousands of hours working on anything you can imagine. The Polaris vehicles always need the most time and money invested and also more often. This guy is dead on. The only people that disagree are the ones that are new to off-road and just don't have the experience yet.
jeremiahlf Lmao newbies are not the only ones who disagree don’t act like you know what you’re talking about. Polaris might not be as fun as canam but it’s damn sure more reliable. None of em beat Honda anyways.

what's the difference between a normal sportsman XP 1000 and sportsman XP 1000 “High lifter“ edition?????
Mud tires, lower gearing, snorkels. A few other little things, but those are the big ones. The 1000 highlifter also comes stock with a winch.
oooooooh :D
Is it possible to make a Sportsman XP 1000 high lifter road legal though?
Yes

Check out some of my videos. I'd hate to say it you will hate your sportsman after a year of riding, 3 people I ride with have newer sportsman, they have nothing but issues. 8ve had my honda for 2 years now not one issue has occurred.
I have a 2013 sportsman 500 with 6500 miles no issues
+Tyler Colby guess you got lucky lol
My whole family is either polaris or canam. We've never had problems with them.
+Tyler Colby all depends how you treat them I guess
+arnoni11 ride hard and clean and maintain them.
I don't like that polaris puts that loud fan directly in front of you.
fully automatic 4 wheelers are for amateur over the hill riders
My 99 foreman goes deeper use the snorkles
Métela al agua alcabo es fiada la pinche moto XD
Polaris = dog shit
