Metal General is an unsung hero. You beat him the first time, you think he’s just a mindless robot out to kill you. He hops into his mecha, you beat him again... _and he refuses to give up._ He jumps into the foreground, the music changes to Landia’s theme, and that’s when it hits you: _he knows._ He knows about Magolor, he knows what’s at stake if he lets you pass, and _he will fight to his last breath to stop you._ And you have to smash his mecha piece by piece by piece until he dies- not even with any fanfare or a huge flashy explosion; he just falls over motionless and vanishes. Kirby doesn’t kill his enemies as a general rule? But Metal General simply _refused to be taken alive._
Really though, dude's so dedicated to it all, First the anger and fury with Grand Doomer's theme, and then Landia's theme as he fights to the final breath in his crumbing mech. For all we know Metal General could of been created entirely to defend Landia and the Crown, hence it's sudden hostility towards Kirby.
I love the little back-and-forth arm swing Kirby does in his idle animation. Murderous robot on the rampage hellbent on his death? *yawn* No big deal, just another day for Kirby.

I was a huge Kirby fan at the time, so I've beaten all of the games, now with games like I wanna kill the kamilia 3, I can do this blindfolded no hit. So don't be an ass

When I first fought this boss in EX mode, I finally beat Metal General EX and was like "Wait. That wasn't it?" Sometime later, I barely beat the first phase of HR-D3 and was like "WHAT?! THAT WASN'T IT EITHER?!" Eventually, I _FINALLY_ beat the second phase of HR-D3 and saw Kirby celebrating. I was like "YES! I FINALLY BEAT HIM!" I was so happy when I _FINALLY_ beat this boss. WHY DID THIS BOSS HAVE TO HAVE THREE PHASES?! THAT'S MORE PHASES THAN THE FINAL BOSS!
Metal general is one of the easiest fights in the game though. tbh the main issue is you only have half health in Ex mode. If you had full health it would be fairly easy
HR-D3 stands for henchman robot dedede, it was originally gonna belong to king dedede with his armor themed after him in a Kirby game for the GameCube but was scrapped when it was cancelled, then they brought it back in this game, you can see the original color scheme in the Kirby quest mass attack mini game or one of the screenshots for the cancelled game

I'm sure hes alive and well. He probably needed repairs. After all we destroyed him in normal campaign and he survived

@@shyguy85 A badass robot.
Huh, no wonder why the robot guards in planet robobot looked familiar...
Haltmann invaded the half side of Halcandra.

I heard he actually just got the blue prints for the metal general from that place

What you are seeing is a a boss from a scrapped Kirby game.
Not really scrapped, more like retooled and repurposed
This game isnt scrapped i have it on my wii
He means the Kirby GCN game. Yes it became Return to Dreamland, but the first two versions (yes there are three) are gone.
Wait no
The first iteration became Return to Dreamland and the other two were lost. AGH!
Vietnam flashbacks when that 2nd Form came

Well, technically, counting Landia, the final boss is 4 phases long. Landia, the Lor, magalor, and possessed magalor.
Is it just me, or does HR-D3 look like a penguin without the mask thing on?
Nathan Betts
The robot was originally used by King Dedede.
I think that's the joke.
Maybe the halacandrians loved penguins?
DDD
hey do you think HR-D3 stands for hench robot triple d which is dedede,it probably belongs to king dedede.

I'd inhale the big rockets: they give crash ability.
It says "No ability" for a reason.
Supershadow301 if only I knew this 8 years ago
No they don't,
They give "bomb" ability
General metal extra.
I'm impressed

You basically have to endure 3 boss phases and your life energy is not refilled between battles. This also makes this fight pretty hard.
Metal general is one of the easiest fights in the game though. tbh the main issue is you only have half health in Ex mode. If you had full health it would be fairly easy
In my opinion, it's easier without copy abilities
So what dose he mean
