Since you mentioned Conan from Modiphius, Monolith got a hold of the license and made a Conan miniatures board game a while back and just recently wrapped up a Kickstarter campaign for a new Conan TTRPG. It just ended a few days ago, but they're currently taking late pledges. Looks like a pretty easy and quick system to learn and play.
I’d recommend Dragonbane and Forbidden Lands, both by Free League. DB tends to be more rules-lite and FL is a dice pool system, but both are a blast, and I’d rank them above Tiny D6, Pathfinder, and Warhammer. I have no experience with the Witcher, so can’t speak to that, nor to Fantasy Hero. I will add, the 2d20 version of Conan, I don’t believe is in print, any longer. BUT Modiphius does have a current Kickstarter for a new version of Conan, and I don’t believe it will use 2d20 as the system, but a more bespoke system is being created for it.
I'm not familiar with Dragonbane and Forbidden Lands but I am familiar with Free Leagues Bladerunner. I could be mistake but it looks like you can still get new copies of the 2d20 Conan system.
@@MightyBjorn Forbidden Lands uses the original Year Zero Engine, Bladerunner uses an updated/modified version of the YZE, which I've not played, but generally speaking, I do like YZE. Where were you able to find the 2d20 Conan books? I'm not able to find physical books for that, but would love to get my hands on a copy (since I already own some of the stuff for it).
@@finderski hmm I thought I saw it at drivethruRPG as print on demand and at Modiphius website but now I can find them. I must be losing it. You can get copies on ebay or amazon for around $50. So there is that at least.
Good list. My five would all be different, with Shadowdark being the clear #1, but this goes to show how many great options there are.
Not familiar with Shadowdark myself but its still good to see others sharing recommendations. Thank you for tuning in, I hope you enjoyed the video.

If we can ever finish our system, it too will be an option.
If you finish you system, maybe it could be something I cover on my channel. I wish you the best of luck.
