Hi Mike! Another in a long string of "good 'uns" which we always enjoy! You consider this "old" technology (with the newer round balers now available) but sure beats hand picking and dragging bags by main! Which practices, btw are still being used on a few small-scale organic production. But, by all means, keep the videos coming~~~we'll watch whatever you post at this point........
All the 80s farming cotton was always 38 inch rows here in west tennessee im sure now they are some 36 inch row cotton that was back in the 80s with the old 4440s 4630s 4450s and the 9900 9910 9930s 2 rows and the 9940 and 9950 4 row and cotton trailers lol
Great video. I always learn something new watching your videos. Also…. I’m blaming you for this crappy no snow winter we’re having. Always the fault of the guy that bought the new sled. 👍🏻😂
Yow Mike, thanks for another excellent video. That basket type of cotton picker looks like it push, strip and blow another 6 rows making it a 12 rower for faster production, maybe even a 18 row machine. I like to think big. Whada you think-?
I wonder what would happen if the cylinder compressing the cotton blew a hose and sprayed the cotton with oil...would the cotton be discarded or could it be cleaned..thanks for the video Mike
Good Question but I'd guess the cotton would soak up the oil and be no good. I'm sure its happened before and maybe someone who had it happen will see this and comment.
I like your videos
Picking cotton sure has changed since the 18th & 19th century
Which one gets more $$$/acre, a clean picker or a dirty stripper?
yeah shure has
Really enjoyed the video, very interesting and informative 👍
Whoever set that picker did a phenomenal job. She picking clean. No need to go back and scrap any leftovers (second picking,)
Awesome Video mike......It is cool to see this because i have never been futher south than Ainsworth NE
Good video.
Your videos always leave me feeling relaxed and inspired
Another great cotton harvest video😉👍 I could watch the module builder all day long😁👍

That was interesting. Cool stuff Mike!
Great video once again Mike. Happy New Year to you & family.
Really nice, Mike. For a few moments there, I thought I could actually smell it.
The last deere picker i was around and drove was the 9970 never been around the 6 rows always was the 2 and 4 row deere pickers lol

I figured buying a new sled was going to make it a low snow winter. I'm really anxious to ride my new Catalyst.
You actuality Like Snow ??? you should have come here last year because we got almost 10 feet and this year we have over a foot
👍👍

Whada you think-?
In theory yes but I'm sure there is a reason why they don't make them that big. Maybe the cotton would never blow that far through the tubes?
Out right mad.😉🙃🤨
Was that Bohacek's field? We farm in the Beasley and Rosenberg area.

I like Mike less videos on RUclips from the imperial county California 👍 2024🎉
Never noticed that the compactor container has no bottom, are all of them like that?
Man if they ever retire the module system for cotton harvesting i'm sure i could repurpose one for making haylage or silage modules
I’ve seen a good bit of people use them for that. Seems to work great for them.
That must either be 36 or 38 inch cotton rows lol
How many inch row spacings are the rows
I believe these were 30's
What is that blower for on the front of the buggy?
Not sure and was wondering that myself. Of course I didn't notice it while I was filming but did when I was editing.
Farmhand Mike are saying John Deere is a basket case lol
Not exactly,
He going to fast leaving lots of cotton
