Can you tell me what software it was running on the pc showing the grey line map? I know there is various software which shows the same representation but that one looked very distinctive. I also prefer the challenge of portable type work vs a big gun station but I still appreciate the work which must have gone into setting it up. If someone offered you all that gear, you'd jump at the chance. cheers VK2MRX
Kudos to all who built and funded that station. You guys must have a blast. I know I would love to be able to operate from a station like that! Bob VE7WNK
Beautiful Station, nice video guys... Talked with you a few times from my QTH in Florida .. of course always 59 and very clean audio.. best to your group in all your DX ventures... K4DSB btw ..feels good to see you using so many Pro III .. my choice as well.
Great Station guys. No wonder you picked out my poor signal here in Dawesville WA. Running 100w into a G5RV sloping down to the back yard in a V. You were the only contact in 1 hour of working as I set up the temporary antenna. I was probably your last contact on 40M for the IOTA contest. Thank you for your patience with my signal to get the call. I hope you did well. 73 VK6SMK.
Glad to see the station! Workd 4 bands during CQ WW CW. I haven't anatenna the missing 80 and 160m NR5M is famous between hungarian contesters, usaly the strongest signal from US call aera 5 I feel the spirit :) because the big guns make more joys for the small pistols!
Absolutely impressive! I used to operate out there several years ago. It has changed alot since I was there, but it looks awesome. George probably doesn't remember me as I haven't had any contact with him in 15-20 years. I have not been active on the bands at all - really miss it. Good luck to all and 73's de Bob King - NM5L
Contesting is nice... several times a year from a fixed location. Nice thing about the hobby of amateur radio is how people hike to mountain tops, go to islands, or work out of their homes with simple stations and work the world... every day. Not tied to antenna farms and bays of radio gear. I'm sure you guys enjoy the contests, but since the early days of radio, contests have always come with mixed reviews. Race cars run once and a while, compared with classy cars run every day...73 de NW7US
I was glad to QSO you today. My 5 watts and dipole from France. But yikes, with that antenna farm I am less impressed with myself. You could have heard me if I was five miles underground
Congratulations to RadioHams for companionship and effort in making antennas and promotion, that the incentive for others to follow suit. And for those who gave negative vote, is nothing but a jealous he could not do the same.
WOW!!! what a beautiful station..Love to have one of those Alphas.. but almost a years Social Security for one.. Any Way I love to listen to you when the contests come 73s to you all ....AD8AB
HI ALL NR5M MEMBERS . DE NX7DX AND I TAKE MY HAT ON ALL OF YOU IS A BEUTIFULL PLAY GRAUDN , I HOPE BEFORE I GO SILENT KEY I WILL HAVE THE THA CHANCE TO OPERATE A STATION LIKE YOURS IS FENOMENAL . POWER TO ALL OF THA MEMBERS AND WILL SEE YOU ON THA AIR.73S. PS. SMILE ALL FO YOU HAVE A KILLER STATION. FROM , NX7DX. NELSON , WA
@AudiophileTubes I worked my first 300+ countries with 100 watts and wires at 20ft (wkd 8BDXCC also) from the US and from Europe. I know the feeling. But like you said you REALLY need to have this kind of station if you want to be a top M/M contest station...
And I thought K3LR had a good contest setup. Can you make more videos maybe showing more of the operating positions and how it all works together Thanks Trevor EI2GLB
Wow! Nice if you have the real estate..hi. I've worked 9420 qso's since 1988 and just short of 5 band DXCC. UK pwr out is only 400 watts. Most were done with 100 watts and wire dipole's But it would be real nice to play in this shack!! Good luck and see you boys on the bands..you have a nice contest station, congrats.
@10SD112 im sure is perfectly possible to work all that dxcc in 27mhz , but thats not the point this is a contest station ..i wish a have samo nice antennas like these
@wb6rrk Its radio sports ! Some people like to talk about their medical problems day in n day out.. some talk abt avation, some bounce signals off the moon.. some like to build stuff.
Well, I had high hopes when I came here from your QRZ page. Unfortunately between the fuzzy, low resolution, video and the jumpy camera, and no audio telling me what I am looking at, very disappointing.
I didn't have an HD camera 6 years ago so don't expect any HD resolution. As a matter of fact I had not even planned on creating a video but out of boredom one evening I decided to create this fuzzy low resolution jumpy voiceless video. I could also add that I'm also very disappointed with your W6CAW page that looks like a website from the 90s with a bunch of links...yawnnnnnn!!!
A lot of sour grapes and green eye monsters posting. I admit I could never afford a setup half this impressive, but that doesn't mean I don't admire the heck out of it. It would be a blast to operate a contest there. I love RTTY and what a signal I could put out in the WPX or CQWW. Great work and best of luck. 73, AA4YL
@ku4gw I absolutely agree KU4GW! Strictly for winning radiosport contests though, you need this much 'firepower'. For working honor roll DXCC, I have no respect for someone having achieved this with 1K and a google-element antenna. I respect the Ham who has done it with just 100W and simple antennas. Now THAT is real operator talent!
Beyond awesome station, BUT there is NO challenge in working DX. I'd be bored, frankly. Try working 250 DXCC entities running 100 watts 'barefoot' and simple wires, verticals, or a spider beam! I have a thousand times more respect for the op that has achieved DX this way. That said, as a 'contest station', you NEED this kind of 'firepower' to win!
I do not know what is worse. All the money he has spent talking to the world or the failure of him not contacting me in the north of England. With all of that I should be able to hear him on a piece of wet string.
Ummm, I'm confused. There is no information in this video. What is wrong with giving a verbal tour with some interesting information. Sorry, this is an impressive setup, to be sure, but there is no information about it.
Love it! ! !! Ham Radio on STEROIDS ! ! ! ! ! Just leave a little RF for the rest of us bottom feeders running 2KW and 7 element tribanders.. Hi Hi What a ball you guys must have.. I would pay admission just to tune around 20 and 15 meters for a few hours.. Hi Hi 73 de WA4AOS
MM0KSS (that's his call) must have had a bad experience with contesters or maybe he doesn't know that the WARC bands are always open for non-contesters like him ;-)
+w0mm Furthermore, the large contests that fill the band are hardly every weekend. There are only a few per year. I have been a ham for 28 years and I have seen the bands just getting more and more quiet. The contests do a good job of bringing things to life.
these guys have loads of money, all the best gear and antennas but yet they totaly piss people off, going into parts of the band they shouldnt, like on an ssb contest they take over the cw and data portions, and same when a cw contest on they take over the entire band.i was once working 20mtrs for 1.5hours when a contest station came on and took over,i sent him an email, reply was tuff shit ,contesters are scum of the radio
you´re damn right - every weekend those "cq-cornflakes"-barkers - no respect for other hams or the band plans. 5/9 - whatisyourcall?? again??? again??? again?????

Awesome set up. Worked you guys in the ARRL 10 meter contest yesterday, K4UVX.

Wow! This is awesome! I will be listening for you guys this weekend for Field Day 2018! Really spectacular! 73, Brian W5LGQ
A better station than most international navies!
thanks for the response. I have checked them out but for around 2 grand I think I'll stick with the software version :)
cheers

Un truc de malade ... seul un américain peut être assez fou pour mettre en place un truc pareil .... bravo!
How do you keep the rf out of the computers and video monitor with all those amps and rigs running.

Someone has spent an absolute fortune here! Its Alpha heaven also...
please send plans and blueprints
this is what I am going to do with my lottery winnings
@wb6rrk To each his own. Contesting is a GREAT way to bring up the DXCC total worked amount. I don't care about points or winning.

Wonderful video! This station is HAM RADIO DISNEYLAND!

Impressive to say the least, well done to all concerned, 73 VK6VP
You must be referring to the GeoChron (geochron.com). It's a neat device very valuable to work stations on the grey line.
@10SD112 100 watts on 27 MHz is illegal...why not become legal and become a ham? :P
Thank you for the QSO. 73 de DU1VHY

Holy CRAP!!!! You must be rich as $##$!!!! Cool setup, but not really Ham Radio. More like a commercial broadcast station times 50!!!
Makes my dad's Yaesu FT 200 and long wire look a bit silly/

LOL @ 200 DXCC on 27 MHZ.. yea.. try that on 80 or 160m..enuff said.

Good grief, I'm a ham and I find this ridiculous. Where's the amateur or hobby part of this station? It looks more like OCD to me.
Too bad it's in Texas!
