I remember I was on a week of nights and I got up to watch this, what a game, such a spectacle, two great teams, it had so much a tomahawk goal, a penalty, a goalkeeper getting a clip in the face, 25 mins of highlights for a 70 min game, pure class. If it had been a final it might have been the one of the best finals there has been. Great respect between the two teams.
A bit like Ireland V NZ in the rugby last year, still can't bring myself to watch the end! As a Dublin supporter my best and worst days at Croke Park have been at the hands of Kerry ( this game, 2009 eg) but always enjoy watching them play. Oddly enough Coopers first half display here and Declan O' Sullivans in 2009 stick in the memory. Wouldn't mind a 2014 final.
Yeah as a Dubs fan you have to admit you felt defeat was coming, great Kerry team with the wind in their sails seldom loses, 2011 had switched the mentality though and there was belief now, fight to the end like in 2011 and it's never over mentality. It changed everything. Big fan of Kerry football though and such great fans. I was at the rout, the scattered earwigs game, where I felt Kerry were almost sorry for us but there was no nastiness and never a sense of getting revenge, no rubbing anything in from Kerry fans that day, just a bit of banter at worst. great respect between the two counties
