Hello. Thanks for the tutorial. In the video you used 18 gauge wire. In the description of the material you used the wire is 22 gauge. Is it ok to use either? Thanks
Hello! Absolutely! For this flower any thick wire will work well.
Chegando para te abraçar espero que retorne no meu cantinho
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi, you have used 4 petal dust colours to finally color the flower, can you pls tell the serial in which u applied colours
Hi! It’s a very good question!
Usually I use more colors for the center of the flower, and make the outer petals of the flowers pale.
For this particular flower I used all 4 colors to color the center.
And then I gradually moved towards to outer petals, using less petal dust. I didn’t use Apple Green and Daffodil for outer petals.
Basically, the center of the flower is always has more intense color: either darker shade of the color (for example, darker pink) or a little bit of light green.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for such a detailed tutorial 🥰
You are welcome! I’m happy you liked the tutorial and it was useful! ❤️
Qué grosor tiene el papel que usaste ?? Gracias de antemano y saludos
Here in the US we only have thin and thick wafer paper. I always use thin wafer paper to make flowers.
Have you used thin sheet of wafer paper or thick one??
I use thin wafer paper.
Can I use only water instead of wafer paper conditioner?
Yes, water will work great for this flower.
It's beautiful, thank you 😍could you please tell me how many petal did you use in each saiz
Of course! I used 12 small, 15 medium, and 20 large petals.
I also attached a link with a template to the description to this video.
Thank you so much
Hi which veiner have you used please
I used silicone veiner for peony flower 🌸
Love this video, thankyou for sharing. Do the petals need to be completely dried in moulds before you assemble?
Preferably, yes - the petals have to be completely dry.
However, you can start assembling the flower when the petals stopped being sticky and too flexible; when they can hold their shape and don’t stick to your fingers.
@cheshirebakery5312 thankyou, much appreciated. Can't wait to give it a try

Can you make this without mold? And with regular watercolor paint?
You can make the petals without mold. You can see the technique in this Wafer Paper Peony Poppy video:

It is possible to use watercolor, but the flower won’t be suitable to use for cake decoration.

I use an empty mechanical pencil or an empty pen.
Beatiful!!! Beatiful!! What brand of color powder did you use?
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I don't have a preference of petal dust brand. I tried the colors from Global Sugar Art, Roxy & Rich, Wilton, and Crystal Colors. All of them work equally well for me, and I can recommend any of these brands.

where do you get the peony mold?
I bought mine from Amazon. This is a link to the mold I use and like a lot (but looks like this particular one is currently out of stock).

you are amazing
❤️❤️❤️
is there any option if i dont have the peony mould?
Absolutely!
If you don’t have a peony mold, you can simply brush a little bit of water (or water and glycerin mixture) to the petals and let them dry on an apple tray or silicone mold, so petals will get rounded shape when dry.
Since the paper has some texture, the petals will look realistic when dusted and assembled.
@@cheshirebakery5312 thank u sooo much for the tip 😊
На это можно смотреть вечность! 👏
Спасибо огромное! Очень приятно! ❤️
i love your job
Thank you so much!
how long it will last? how to store?
Wafer paper flowers can be stored for a very long time! I have the flowers that I keep as a home decoration for 1.5 years, and they still look as great as they were 1.5 years ago 🤗
You can store them in a cake box, or you can simply insert the flowers into a styrofoam. Wafer paper is hydrophobic, so if you have high humidity in the room, I recommend to store them in a well sealed boxes.

Hello can you explain how to do the conditionner please ? Thank you so much for your videos
Sure! I combine together in a small bowl:
2 tbsp of vodka
2 tbsp of water
1/2 - 1 tsp of glycerin
If you’d like to add some color to the petals before dusting it, you can add a tiny drop of gel food coloring to the liquid.
@@cheshirebakery5312 thanks 😀😀😀😀
In the video you say that it is 2 tablespoons of vodka and 1 teaspoon of glycerin. I’m confused now.
@@apollinemalik5383 it’s a great question!
Both ways to make the conditioner work great, and, honestly, I don’t have a preference here. Glycerin makes wafer paper petals softer and more flexible, vodka makes them more brittle and curled. If you substitute part of vodka with water, it will result in very insignificant difference of how the edges of petals curl, which doesn’t make a lot of difference for peony.
@@cheshirebakery5312 I see, thank you for explaining, and for your beautiful flowers🌸🌺

can you advice when it's best to use wafer paper instead of gumpaste for flowers?
Sure! It’s a great question!
Both wafer paper and gum paste work great for flowers, and most flowers that you can make with gum paste, can be done in wafer paper. It’s just a matter of personal preference and habits.
Personally, I prefer to use wafer paper for flowers because petals are thin, flexible and more realistic, they don’t break, easy to fix, and inexpensive. I rarely make gum paste flowers.
Some flowers (like Anemone) would require a gum paste center anyway because it is much longer and more difficult to make out of wafer paper.
@@cheshirebakery5312 thank you so much for the info!! 💖 your peony looks realistic indeed!
